What I find pretty interessting is #1 and #2. Many tourists or someone from outside Switzerland would find the Swiss public transportation is very punctual but even a train is 2, 3 or couple more minutes delayed we Swiss can get bloody pissed off. It‘s more or less the same about cleanlines: there are places I find pretty dirty and someone else from abroad would be impressed how clean it is. I think we Swiss are sometimes a bit too spoilt! 😄
For the last point: It’s actually illegal not to stop at a crosswalk. The car driver could get a CHF 140.- fine if he doesn’t stop, when a pedestrian wants to cross the crosswalk.
I live in Switzerland and there are a lot of honesty shops especially on the country side for e.g when you want to buy some vegetables of a farm, you basically go there take the fruit or vegetable and put your money in a box. Nobody ever steals sth. because they feel very guilty afterwards. If we forget to pay, we run back and pay or we write a note with our phone number to say we're bringing the money back later.
It's also very hard to become a citizen in both Japan and Switzerland. Neither country encourage immigration. Tourism yes, immigration not so much. Hence clean streets, good safety, punctual public transportation, honestly shops, etc. You get the picture.
It's amazing how similar both countries are. I like the idea of these kind of videos as it is both interesting and fun to compare two great countries. Now, I need to visit both of them!
Cars actually have to stop for pedestrians at crosswalks in Switzerland. At crosswalks, pedestrians have precedence over cars and drivers would get fined if they didn't stop.
7:59 bro that is so funny, I live in the Italian part of Switzerland and ever time I want to cross the road and see an Italian car I don’t even try to go since I know they won’t stop
Nature looks similar in Japan and Switzerland (Actually it's just that both have mountains) And I do think Switzerland and Finland also has things in common.
A few other things include: they are both the top watchmaking countries in the world, they are both the safest countries in the world, they are both known for having very strict laws, they both have the highest life expectancy in the world (2015), they both use less road transport than most countries for daily commuting, and they both have very mountainous terrain. Overall, they share the same fundamental values which most countries should try to adopt.
Great comparison! When I was in Switzerland, I was amazed at the farmers leaving their fresh eggs for sale with the honor system. Sad that US can’t be like that, those puppies would be gone in less than 60 seconds.
In the place I live in switzerland, there's 1 trust and honesty shop, luckily, its pretty unknown. Because, in my town, they would steal the entire farm 😹. But some still believe in honesty. I went there, got some eggs that cost 4 francs and paid 3 because i was on the end of the month and was running out of money. But then I paid 5 when I came back. I love switzerland
Hi chris, i just stumble on one of your videos and i liked the format that you do and the delivery as well. I think its informative and well thought of. Just subbed! ❤️😘
Good video, but i'm Swiss and I totally disagree with the 9th point- I live in a city (Lausanne) and with a bike, I get honked regularly just because I'm slower, even by buses.
Btw, it's interesting that you say smoking in public is ilegal in California as San Francisco is literally covered with weed smoke. But what you say about drinking in public also has a negative side: Even I appreciate that I can have a beer in public there are people who just leave their empty beer cans (and other waste) without throwing it into rubbish bins which brings me to #2 that Switzerland is pretty clean. It's unfortunately not always the case :/

Interesting! Thanks for the info!
@@YellowProductions Technically but I never heard anyone get a fine for that because pedestrians usually don't care if someone passes them anyway.

Cool! And thanks for the thoughts on the video format :)
You are welcome!
It's actually a law to stop for pedestrians. If there are no red lights you NEED to stop for pedestrians and most people keep that law. :)
Swiss is best loved it very much.❤️🇨🇭

That's good.. I think Japan is similar in that regard!
This video is good! There is no lies everything is true. Thank you ! Danke!

Thanks for those additions!
Oh, that is wonderfully ironic. The ad that played before this video was a My Japan advertisement😆
Autum Breeze Looks like YT got it right for once lol
Neat! :)

Thanks Jennilee! And yes. I wish there was more honor in the US.
Two of my favourite countries
Japan is the equivalent of Switzerland in Asia, or Switzerland is the equivalent of Japan in Europe in some many ways.
Both great countries
Lucky to comment for very first time 😃😃
Ajith Francis

Very cool! Thanks for the feedback Beau! And thanks for subscribing!
I didn't even know it was a thing to not stop for pedestrians at crosswalks. If cars don't stop anyway, what's even the point of having them? 😂
Sir you are so gud sir!! Myself Soni kashyap I am from bihar
Liked it
Awesome!
The almost perfect countries
Without having to use a translation app, in how many countries have you had a problem with a language barrier?
Biggest language barrier I've had is in South Korea
Very accurate!

Next time I will visit a watch store

The whole Marijuana legalization thing in California has really changed the smoking landscape for the worse unfortunately
Huh. Odd. I don't remember seeing all that many people smoking when my dad and I were in Japan back in 2012🤔
They smoke alot.. just not on the sidewalks. In bars, smoking rooms, etc. They try to be more polite about it :)
Have you been in Poschiavio recommend a hotel call Zarera the food is great the price are low and the views are great
I haven't been to Poschiavio.. should I go?
lol what you said about Italy is bs sorry, I live in Italy and I've never heard of it, some people stop some don't that's it
To foreigners who are used to people stopping it seems like that 😅
Statistically there is only one country better than Japan: Switzerland
lots of countries can be better than japan
who let Metatron to be out here
