The P90 sounds better to me And damn... Halls of Valhalla on the P90 is *s i c k* (it's my favorite in all the recents Priest's song) Will it be available as a signature guitar?
The EMGs sounded more “chunky” and saturated in isolation, but in a double-tracked full-mix situation, I think the P90 would sound absolutely incredible
90s insane! So good..I am biased tho. It's a shame Richie stopped uploading ;( unless he still does? Anyone know ?(honestly my favourite modern guitarist)
Great vid as always! Is Epiphone releasing this P90 version of your sig V? I have Your first one and it's amazing. I have 5 '67 Gibby reissues but, the Epi is IMHO better! Thanks for all the great riffs and songs!!!
I think the P90's in this instance give a cleaner more crisp tone. They always sound great in their sweet spot. Take them out of that and they can sound like ass. They are kind of a one trick pony to me. I still prefer EMG's over anything else. I can make an 81/85 set sound like any guitar ever made. Now that I have a set of the Glenn Tipton Vengeance series EMGs in a guitar I built for Great Guitar Build Off 2021 they are even more versatile. BEST pickups I have ever used or heard. I have an Og. EMG -H I bought back in summer of 1987 sitting on my workbench while I restore the Original 1986 Washburn RR-11v I bought new in Jan1987. I just put a set of Zakk Wylde's in my build for this years GGBO that work great with the heavier body.
Hello, get well soon! Do you think the timbre of the Marshall sound of Judas Priest, MSG, Scorpions is a merit of Gibson's ministry? I think it's better to start with taking the first single-cut guitar JD (LP-like) or improve the monitor acoustics. Only yesterday I found out that you are sick, and today I came across your cover of No more tears and was surprised that you can write just like that. Hello from GuitaristForever channel! Priest fans and I wish you well!
@@richardstreyer4342 Yeah, they're a touch thin. The EMGs sound much fuller. I personally prefer "original" EMG pickups, though. Bought an LTD Eclipse that came stock with 57/66TW and ended up changing everything out for an 81/60 setup.
i know that you are busy with Judas Priest right now and it awesome but i hope you considering a solo albums too in near future ,tbh i really love to see that day or something like what we heard from zack or mark that kind of stuff more like bluesy and rock solos and songs
Wow, it is as I remembered it. P90's just slightly less gain, now days that's easy to fix. I owned a mid 70's Les Paul Special w/P90's and had a 78 non MV four hole Marshall 50w. I remember I had to be careful with sequel near the cab, but my memory was when the Marshall was over two volumes linked with a cable were at or over 5/6pm with the P90's Sounded Gothic. I could hold a note before a song, and it would start feeding back ( the metal cool feedback) and about 5 seconds the feedback would move the higher octave . . then we would hi=hat a 4 count into a song . . Metal. . . Yes a tad bit of line noise. . . We have great gates now! The P90 sounds so much better. The EMG's I am sorry sound slammed, squeezed like a sponge, like a M..... F.....r, no where to go? And The EMG's had much less total note tonal content ( note-harmonic and sub harmonic content, picking tracking, timing conveyed more accurately, not a great replication of Richie's Metronome like timing. He shines like a robot with the P90's perfect timing. Over all EMG/mushy, less accurate by far.
Have you ever tried a Boss NS-2 pedal? It's a noise suppressor and works pretty well. Sometimes I'll actually forget my volume knob is still all the way up on my guitar because the NS-2 really helps quiet down the hissing from lots of gain and overdrive. Only other solution is to turn the guitar's volume down in between playing, which isn't a bad habit to develop, anyway. Expect the volume pot to loosen up over time, though, lol.
I liked the EMG's. Whilst I appreciate the P90's are clearer and have a bit more attack edge, they come out very singular in tone, like you're only hitting one string at a time on chords. The EMGs have a washier even tone that although maybe not biting, sound better on chords.

honestly to me too, even if with a bit less bite

I have the falcon with the EMGs, but i would love to see a hardtail Falcon with the P90s offered 🤘
Pinkertrain Music Ditto!
honestly that would be so fucking sick. It would probably break Epiphone sales records
You are my FAVORITE guitarist in the world FOREVER.
90s insane! So good..I am biased tho. It's a shame Richie stopped uploading ;( unless he still does? Anyone know ?(honestly my favourite modern guitarist)
Was good to see you in Boston ❤

P90's all day. They have the perfect midrange tone.
more videos like this! also talk about gear and stuff! sick stuff.
p90 has more clarity and punch in my ears to be honest

Am I'm the only one that prefers the EMGs? ;)
Me too!
Sounds like something is missing on the p90s

Top video man. Keep them up!
P 90's for sure, Priest started out on Gibsons with Sg and V crossed in a logo forever
the p90s sounding old school metal or hardrock to me
i love emgs but p-90s sounds way better on this one
Liked both........but anything u play sounds great!!! P90 maybe a bit more clear......but really like the bite of the EMG’s.
EMG !!!
I thought i liked emg's now I'm saving for p90's
Miss ya Richie
RIchie can you please tell me how you get around the 220v/120v on your Engl Powerballs when playing in North America?
Ritchie Faulkner... you are the most metal dude in the World

Richie, where are you?!
The P90's notes are clearer through my current listening device.
The P-90 sounds so much better than I expected. What's your opinion on fishman fluences?
I fucking love the p90!!!
DAMN. Those p-90’s were aggressive AF
Love both sounds ! :-)

Do these have some kind of noise cancellation of do you live in a electromagnetic vacuum ?
Or maybe to avoid buzzing noise you must never stop playing

I wonder how the EMG would stack up with the 18v mod installed.

One video to rule them all😈
The P-90s for me...!!!
That’s a difficult choice. I’ve always preferred EMG, but the P90 isn’t bad at all. I’d need to play one and hear it in person.
It's not even close. 57/66 > P90's. The EMG's are fuller and richer sounding than the Gibson's.
*Cool !* 🤘🏻
The p-90’s plus richies tone would make reckless sound just like it does on the album!
Nice
Riprenditi presto, sei il migliore 💪💪💪💪♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️💪🎸🤟🇮🇹💪👋
P90s. They cut through a lil better!
It’s really close... the p90 is a bit more articulate where the emg’s have a more saturated feel.
Make another video :(
You've sold me on a BE-100
Вот и хорошо \m/
P-90 rocks
Prefer the emg's
For rhythm p90 is better, but need to see them both on high notes for solos too
🤙😎🤘🤘🤘
P90's sound much better..and clearer...all best
P90 sounds better to me.
P90 are way nicer
