Man that color came out fantastic. Nice job.
Im getting all kinds of flake & candy ideas for my 66 Nova hot rod. Now just need to find a shop willing to take on a big project. Not many shops interested in doing candy & flake on cars anymore.
I see only two things that might compromise the paint job. First after you finished sending, you can see you didn't get around all the rivets. Any spots that aren't sanded will peel over time. Secondly, the two spots that were sanded down past the dark color will show in the sunlight. Its best to do your sanding then spray a solid primer to cover all body work with one color, then sand again and finally your color to get a uniform coverage. It turned out nice though. Just a couple of tips if you're interested.
Great video…I was going back and forth between size of the flake. It will definitely pop!
Looks amazing!
We used to tape paper on the table in the mixing booth and change it out when it got jacked. Good job dude
Love the DIY booth dope on many levels
I'm not normally a fan of purple but after you painted that, that is sick son! NICE!
Awesome paintwork 👌
Damn homeboy u got down, Bad Ass paint job love that color..
What a delicious colour!
Keep the good work man..waiting for more videoss❤️
Made it look easy , def like the purple amd that sparkle
Beautiful color 👌
Looks great man! I'd say you got it!
Stunning 🤩
awesome job mate.
superb colour.. good job..!
I have a voodoo purple Dyna with peel off rust paint on rear fender. I think harley factory used silver flakes instead of purple glitter flakes and purple candy coated finish. this video is the best way to repair the paint
This is incredible brother! I love that color phenomenal work
That is Beautiful. You said to say what you did wrong and you missed a very large spot. Its my 1992 F-350 Diesel.... :) .. Thumbs up to you
BRING IT ON OVER and the inflatable Paint booth as well. Prolly 2-3 days in the 80 degree range would work very nicely. And of course you already sanded and prepped it right?
Looks mint mate
Whoa that's beautiful
nice work. It looks Amazing. i will like to get that color on my 1987 Toyota Celica Gt.
Nice color - NEATO. Have a nice day all. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
At last, somebody who speaks plainly on the subject.
Oregon baby! Fender came out nice.
Awesome!
BEAUTIFUL JOB!
Thank you
Looks amazing man 💜💜💜
That end result colour looks amazing !!
It definitely is.
Wow that's beautiful! A tip I would have that will save time for buffing is to go slightly slower on your passes with the clear. It uses a little more paint, but the finish will be smoother.
fast passes with high fluid flow is for pros
Everyone's an Expert hence that's why they tune in. Keyboard Critics suck. Enjoy and stop with the BS. I tuned in cause I'm doing a similar 2 tone paint job on a sport bike and wanted to see how yours came out. The tank and upper fairings are black, and I wanted to flake em a bit and was curious if the candy would change it that much. Guess it does.....so flake and clear it is. I already got Purple on the Fender and lower fairing. Thanks for the show. Appreciate it. Besides every bike goes faster in Black.....
@@anonimous2451 That's why I'm painting my boat black and red, it will be way faster!!!! The fish love the sparkles in the metalflake, they'll be coming from all over the lake to check it out. It's gonna be great!!!!
@@agentorange2554 The red will slow you down. It thinks your bleeding and respects the fact you MIGHT DIE.....
Do you have a video from how it is looking in the sun? I am so curious. I love it!!
Nice job man
Looks good
Looks sick bro
Wow.. that is a beautiful color...
Thank you
Perfect end result for colouring
Colour is fantastic
Great job
Wow that looks beautiful, I never considered purple as a paint choice but I'm a changed man.🎉
Beautiful
I think you did a good job...
awesome work for doing it in a really uncontrolled area ie: no booth.
bruce clark thanks man work with what I got
nice job
Niceeee❤
Very nice
Did you mix the candy with the same 2k clear? Or with an inter coat clear?

pompeii
Thanks going to show it to you once I finish it’ll be a few months
Are you using reducer and color blender?
Looks good man what clear did you use?
Is it possible to use a new vehicle black or silver for a base coat then repaint a different color purple or burnt orange
So you shoot the candy directly on the flake?
(I’m in the middle of my first flake/candy guitar)
I have a question noob here did u primer black then put flakes in ur clear coat then spray the purple base over that then another layer of clear??
Lazy susan nice touch.
Ist it possible to do this in this way with a white?
What clear did you use
When I did my fenders I mig welded the brackets on the inside and eliminated the rivets for a smoother look. Why don’t you use a strainer for the primer? I realize that you’re going to sand the fender after priming but any little piece of trash could clog up the tip. So why not strain the primer ?
Primer always seems too thick for a strainer and since I’m using a bigger tip I have never had any issue with clogging.
Beautiful... did u put base over all of those burn through rings? Or did u put some kind of primer down first? I'd hate to see that Beautiful work ring out when the sun starts baking those solvents underneath 😢
Nice
What else do you mix with the clear coat and the flakes?????Do you mix hardener and thinner(reducer I believe??????)
4:1 mix ratio for the clear coat I used and 10% reducer
Does using that black base coat before the flake make the paint overall darker like it would without metal flake
Would a silver vase coat and metal flake make it lighter
Yes it would be lighter
Do you have de color code for that purple candy?? Awesome work brooooouuuuuu
what kind of color is purple candy ? where to buy it from ?
do u have a link ?
Search “house of kolor” and you will find all their kandy colors and other products they sell.
Hi mate; if I may I want to ask you about the silver flakes; how the gun is not clogged? Or is an special flake for normal guns? What is the number of the pointer?
I am asking due to in this Country there is no those big metal flakes and I am searching for alternatives.
Thanks
I was using a 1.4 is this video
That is Sic As hell man oli love it. Iam wprking on an old BC Riich candy red with 0.025 red flake.
Red flake with red candy interesting.
I'm doing a red candy on silver base, but I am going to add just a little gold into the silver clear mix
@@llewvirtue861 i did silver base then i added the candy till it looked right then i dry flaked the red flake i didnt have a tip big enough for that size flake then i cleard the snot out of it.
@@llewvirtue861 take a look czcams.com/video/RHEG0Vvv-xI/video.html
Just curious how the paint has held up since?
Great video. Do you sand the flake down and clear coat again? And how long do you let the flame layer sit before the next coat? Thanks again man. 🤙🏼
Burry the flake under the clear coat/Kandy without sanding
brother that is a sweet color.nice work.whats the name of that color.
So u use straight clear and flake when laying down metal flake no reducer or hardener in ur clear?
shredthegnar I used 1:4 ratio for the clear with 5% reducer
Newb here. Was the flake added to “finish clear coat’ or what I understand as ‘inner coat’ clear base?
You can use an inner coat I just added to my clear coat and then after just clear coat without flake
I was alittle concerned with painting in the same spot you sanded but wetting it down seemed to work fine. So the flake and candy get mixed into the regular clear and after you do plain clear to seal it in? Also saw some of your other videos looks like your also a NorCal native
EditsWithBlur yes the clear after is to cover over the flakes to make a mirror finish. Yes I’m in the San Jose area
@@stevenragsdale7429 Can you tell me how much of each product I need to paint a Suzuki m109r? How much base, flake, candy, and clear? Do they make a smaller flake than you used? Do I need any reducer or sealer?
EditsWithBlur I would buy a quart of base and a quart of clear. You can buy the micro flake that’s very small flake. A 2 oz jar of micro flake should be enough for your bike
voce usou uma tinta base preta
what if using candy black or black pearl or metallic as base coat
Use candy black as base coat?
Did you ever video the cut and buff of it?
No never did. But I do have a cut and buff of another fender on my channel
I have a 2016 road glide would like price to paint the bike.
Hey if I missed it, What size flake did you use?
J P .015
Awsome, What kind of candy concentrate did you use?
House of kolor purple
What brand of purple candy u use ?
house of Kolor
purple candy over black with flake . looks good to me
Good job so the flake first
Yes flake before the kandy paint
What kind of compressor are you using?
27 gallon husky compressor
Looks good I would have stripped to bare metal because i got a reaction once on factory paint ? Lol just my luck
Is it ok to mix flakes into a clear binder?
Yes
House of Kolor is the best custom paint. Nice finished product. ☠️
Ok, does it matter what primer I use for hok paint?
No
I want to paint my car a smoked grey candy with flake what would be my order with bare metal?
Prime. Base coat. Flake. Kandy
Parabéns
How many turns out of paint material did you set your gun to ?
vicshone bethel roughly half open
@@stevenragsdale7429 thanks bro 👍
Do a shot every time he says "primer!" 🤪
The only advice GET BIGGER PLACE TO PAINT 😁...the paint job looks NICE.
Have to work with what you have sometimes.
Dam that's nice can u do my mini truck
Fucking awesome
Where can I buy some metal flakes
Looks up Roth metal flake on google.
Excellent work. If you wanted to murder that, when would you lay the black coat?
Thanks! Subscribed!
james clark thanks man. What do you mean by murder?
@@stevenragsdale7429, when painting midnight red, for example, people paint one or two thin black coats over the final base coat, before spraying the clear coat. To allow the color to seep through in direct sunlight.
james clark I would candy black over the fender I just painted. After the clear drys I would sand with 800 grit and put a hint of black in the clear and spray. That should add that effect you want.
2:50 I have that same scale, but mine has keef on it not paint.
What size flakes u used bro ?
Sarah Frederick .015
What PSI are you using?
25psi
Wow watching that fender rock back and forth and leaning sideways had me a nervous wreck. 😳
😂😂
Why did it look gold when you sprayed the clear & flake??
Probably just the reflection
Looks good overall. Thx for the video
