Good to see the Fabarms finally reviewed. Hopefully you'll get the opportunity to review more of their models in particular the L4s sporting. I've been shooting the elos n2 sporting over under for almost a year now and have a little over 10k rounds between practice and competition through it with no issues.
It has been a fabulous gun but I'm really interested in giving the L4s a try
My club manager is a new dealer for Fabarm , we’re small so he doesn’t have any in stock. I really want to check out the L4S in person . I’m 95% sold on the a400 XCEL
I read the thumbnail as “cheapskate” 😂
Me too 😅
Same 🤣
That's funny. Coincidentally, if your a cheapskate, this shotgun is not for you...lol
@@TargetFocusedLifeexactly! 😂
Same
Thank for finally doing a Fabarm review! I’m picking up a Waterfowler and an L4S sporting in the near future!
Great review. And two top Shooters having fun . Topped it of nicely. Had a fabarm lion as my first semi auto. Now looking to get a l4s sporting .
I have the XLR 5 Velocity for Sporting Clays and the XLR waterfowler for my Waterfowl gun. Love them both, and I've killed many pheasants with the Waterfowler too.
I agree 100% with the white sight only. I changed my trap gun from an orange optic to white.
I own a Fab Arms Timber Viper and I love it. Its operating system is a beefed up Bernadelli 401/801 shotgun. What I like better about the Fabarms over the Bernadelli is that the gas ring is protected in the Fabarms by the barrel shroud. The other thing to watch is the plastic recoil buffer fastened to the back of the receiver. In the Bernadelli they snapped off frequently where the plastic piece was pressed on to the receiver. The solution was to take the recoil buffer, drill it out and then thread on an allen head screw/lock washer via the hole through the back of the receiver and into the plastic buffer. The Bernadelli shotguns were very good guns but the Fabarms are on a whole other level. Really fun to shoot. The only thing I don't like is the mag release on the left side, but after hearing that an oversized button is available I will be calling Fabarms next week.
Thanks T.F.L.!!!
Thanks for reviewing this one! I love mine.
I have been shooting the XL5 FR for several years and got Chesapeake last spring great guns love them!! 6:43
I love defender outdoors. Live 30min from there and a beautiful facility.
I like the left side bolt release! Keeps you fingers out of the way of the bolt handle while it’s slamming shut
I’ve been shooting the Fabarm Camo Lion since 1999. As you said, easy to clean and very reliable. Thanks for the review, I was curious what your opinion would be.
Great review Steve can’t wait to see a review on the Elos N2 XL
As a heavy waterfowl hunter it’s cool when I hear of a shotgun I haven’t heard of
Like it better than my sbe3
I have one of these and it is fantastic. XLR5 Waterfowler FTW.
L4S Grey Hunter, my goto shotgun. Has never disappointed.
Thanks Steve for the great review appreciate it. Next up L4S…😊
Fabarm is sending us when so there will be a reivew at some point this year on the L4S!
Totally agree you do not need a 3.5 inch shell. Got a buddy who thinks it is necessary for turkeys and geese. I keep telling him about how a lot of Turkey are taken with 410s & 20 ga.but he is stuck on the need for 3.5 inch shells. I have taken just as many geese with 2.75 shells as he has 3.5 inch but still the arguments from him. I just smile and shake my head.
Your buddy sounds pretty dense! Ask him why he doesn’t use a 10ga if he needs to run 3.5” shells?? Hopefully you can explain to him that a #2 pellet at 1300fps carries the same energy weather it’s in a 10, 12, 20, or any other gauge! Just getting more chances in a larger gauge. Heck I been shooting 2 3/4” 1 1/4oz 12ga loads at ducks for the past 4 years now with great success.
I know this is more or less a Fabarm advertisement, it was still great to watch, 2 dudes doing what they do best. looks like y'all were having some proper fun out there!
STEVE reviews guns for a living
Interesting gun, thanks for the video.
Excellent episode
Great review! Also..... i cant wait to see you roll over 100k subscribers!
Hey Jonathan, great to hear from ya brother. Hope you are well. We are extremely grateful that TFL is about to hit the 100k mark. Wasn't sure we'd hit 100 total when we started the channel. 👊 Stay Target 🎯Focused (Hebrews 12:1-3)
@@TargetFocusedLife you are gonna hit 500k before you know it! Any time someone ask me a question about a shotgun I send them your video on it. lol. If you ever make it down to East texas during duck season come knock some down with me!
Enjoy learning about brands I've never heard of before. I stumbled upon a company in Texas Wimberley arms, that look like they make nice looking shotgun. Wondering if you would review that brand.
I think I’ve been asking you for 2 years to look at the XLR5. Ha Glad I took a chance and picked up a Waterfowler before there were many reviews on them, it’s been an excellent duck gun for me.
Steve I enjoy your videos and it’s nice to see you finally got around to reviewing a FABARM. Since you always solicit feedback...I’d like to see you expand your audience by reviewing some clay target guns. Over/under shotguns from Krieghoff, Kolar, Perazzi, Zoli, (better) Beretta offerings, etc.. Obviously the reviews would need to be different and admittedly they would be targeted at serious clay shooters. But in my humble opinion and personal experience these reviews of the current semi autos on the market all start sounding the same after a while (no offense).
fiber optic on the back of the receiver is for night/ low light shooting there a Euro gun first most, imported to the US. some countrys over there allow night hunting for waterfowl and other game.
You need to do a review on the Fabarm elos 2 elite over under. I have the Orvis branded edition in 20 and 28 gauge. Best feeling and shooting guns I’ve ever owned. And I’ve been through my share in the last 40 years
We have a review for the Fabarm Elos N2 Allsport Type T coming soon!
Awesome guns in there price range. Chokes are excellent too. No need for aftermarket ones
Finally!
Greetings from Colorado! Incorrect statement, Browning Gold Shotguns, at least the 10 GA that I have has a Full (built in) Choke that says on the choke, "Full Lead or Steel".
Could you look into the Franchi Instinct L? You’ve done the side plate which is the higher end version, but would love to see how the entry model compares.
Have a L4S hunter and I love it well built shotgun
You can get both 3” & 3.5” shells in 1 3/8oz. #3 steel loads. Only difference is the 3.5” is moving a bit faster.
Me personally I would like to have the 3.5 option if I am paying the premium price. I don't shoot 3.5in shells but having the option if I need to shoot it, it is there.
I've been a long time looking fwd to you reviewing a Fabarm. I have the L4S Sporting and L4S Grey Hunter (newish)... can't recommend them enough. Hoping to add a Elos O/U someday.
Can you specificate why you can't recommend them?? Thank in advance.
@@jagerboss1 Apologies, it's an expression to mean that I highly recommend them (can't say enough good things about them).
Thanks for sharing. Elos N2 Allsport review is coming soon!
@@TargetFocusedLife Brilliant!
@@TargetFocusedLife Note that the Allsport has only 14" LOP. You have to get the Allsport XL for the full size LOP at 14.75" . Also, the semi that you would probably prefer the most due to your lack of love for flat ribs, is the XLR5 Velocity AR.
Great Stuff 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Nice. I have two L4S and their sporting clays. I feel solid guns.
Got my Fabarms from Arnzem Arms Eden Prairie.
Would love to see you give a review on the cz drake in 20 guage
Can you please do a review on a impala plus emerald I have one and I love it
Una pregunta tengo una Xlr 5 velocity, el sleeve snap ring se rompe frecuentemente, y llega eso a ocurrir con munición de 32 gr? Gracias por compartir
Fabarm caught my attention a few years ago.
A great shotgun no less but it's just not my two vintage 1100's 12ga. with wood furniture no doubt with my Carlson's 11 shot capacity keeps me shootin all day and what recoil !!!
What are your thoughts on this gun vs a Beretta A400? I’m looking to get a good all around gun for field use, and pretty settled down between these two. I can’t shoot them before hand though (heck, the nearest fabarm dealer to me is over 100 miles away 😂)
Can you do a review on the TriStar TT15 Trap CTA Deluxe.
Been looking for something to replace my m2 benelli. Would you take this over a sbe3 or a400 extreme?
I was just thinking about getting one, would you guys say it's a good bit.
Ustedes tienen unas elegancia de arma amigos bellezas elegancia la palabra es hermosa
you should review the stevens 555 sporting
seems very expensive compared to American made shotguns, Like Remington V-3 or the Mossburg 940 JM Pro is what I would choose. Any comment Steve ?
Hey Steve I got a question I shot a a5 at my local duck hunting expo and I really like it I was wondering what you thought of it since you have shot it a few more times than I have I really want to get one but don’t want to spend a ton of money just to not like it
Can you please review the Fabarm L4S Initial Hunter? All the reviews on it are very old, nothing current.
new sub good stuff
Can you do a review on a Beretta a 300 Ultima sporting
Can some one explain what is the difference between a Chesapeake xlr5 and the viper xlr4. It looks to me only the cosmetic?
I want the XLR5 velocity AR
Do you like this gun more than the benelli ethos cordoba BEST? Or does the speed of the benelli take the cake for you?
3.5” shells give you a little edge for that little extra 10 yards of distance. But depending on the hunting scenario the “recoil” isn’t worth the edge. Also if your a big (large frame) guy then the 3.5” isn’t as bad for them as others.
If you use 3.5 shells for waterfowl, you’re either ignorant or stupid. All it does is give you more pellets, which means more weight, which is more recoil. Most 3.5 shells have the same amount of powder as 3 inch shells. Most people just need to practice more.
It doesn't give you an edge. It gives you more payload
@@deputyja1 what’s the difference?
@TheNickademas1 you said it gives you ten yards of distance. It doesn't.....you gain payload but your pattern generally gets worse in a 3.5 12 gauge vs a 3.5 10 gauge
@@deputyja1 from my experience the extra payload was worth it for that 10 extra yards of range.
why is the bolt release on the other side? ask a lefty. imo the ejection port and charging handle should be on the other side as well.
Please do a G-Force 1 or their new G-Force 2!!!
Do you know if you are doing a show at Hidden acres Sportsman's retreat
I know Steve hit that bolt release without a barrel on haha. OOPS!
shell length, the older I get the shorter the shell in 12 ga.. 3 inch works for me.
I feel the same way, so I love the 20 gauge for skeet, dove, Quail, and 3” for pheasant!😊
Briley full chokes can shoot steel shot
Who all want Steve to compare this to Xtreme plus
3.5" offers a little extra range for turkey hunting.
what glasses are you guys wearing!! , i can never find any that look half decent without being huge or ugly?
I am wearing the Crossblade by ESS Eye Pro 😎 You can get Get 35% off with “ESSTFL35”
Their trigger pin deal is the only issue I have with the gun
If you’re looking for a gas gun, these are first class. No brainer as far as doubles go.
I bought an XLR5 when they first came out. I had to send it back 3 times! Twice at my expense. After the 3rd time I sold it with full disclosure! Loved the gun but it wasn’t reliable! Won’t keep a gun like that.
😊
Had one all it did was constantly jam no matter what I fed it.
isnt this the Fabarm Columba Palumbus? looks the same with all the same features.. maybe its named diffrent in America? anyway.. Fabarm is the best when you shoot steel shot.. shooting fabarm for like 15 years now and i dont want anything else! such beautiful patterns with xtreme choke (Full) and im shooting 36gr #3 magnums always.. iv put thousands trough
FABARM Engineers Listen! I have 2 Fabarms XLR5 Waterfowler and LS4 Hunter Great guns, reliable able as hell.
The BAD. Trigger RESET is god aweful compared to Benelli or Beretta Comp Pros. That’s why these guys couldn’t string faster shots. If you wear bulky gloves in cold really pronounces it. I called Fabarm but they would not listen to reason on this.
Second bad is the inlaid bolt release SUCKS. If they changed those things they have a winner.
Fabarm trigger pull out of the box is excellent.
Did I see him eject a live shell?!
I want your expertise. I have $1,700 and I want to buy a semi-automatic rifle ❤❤
In my mind, it's too expensive for a semi auto. There are probably better options.
Can’t believe I’m hearing you guys saying to use your trigger finger to release the safety You do that with hunting gloves and you will have a premature discharge Grampa taught me to always thumb and safety especially when the safety button is forward on the trigger guard Love your videos and always learn a lot from you But had to call you out on this one
🇪🇨🇪🇨👍
Way do you shoot a shotgun over your head? Have hunted all my life. Never fired a shotgun in that matter. Never hunted with anyone that would be that irresponsible. But, good luck with that.
3.5 is trash
Chesapeake is an awful name. I actually thought it said Cheapskate when I first saw it.
