Watched Bono crouch down on his haunches surveying the massive crowd at hyde park at the opening chords of Beautiful Day and I knew Bono and U2 are the ultimate live rock band!! The last day my father lived , it was rainy and cold .. he died the next morning was sunny and hot .. the words , after the fools all the Colors came out , came to my heart .. he loved this song .. an Irish Montreal man he was .. u2 will always be close to my heart .. we played kyte at his funeral .. a few minutes after his death we blasted this song and cried .. thank you u2

At the very outset of this video, when he said “did that really just happen?“, he was referring to performing with Paul McCartney singing Sgt Pepper. I thought that was really cool.
I love when individuals who in their own right are instantly recognizable pretty much anywhere in the world(like the guys in U2 clearly are), yet are capable of not only recognizing an incredible moment while they’re in it, but are also humble enough to make expressions like the one he made about Paul McCartney recognizing he’s on an entirely different level. That seems like a no-brainer to say. But the entertainment history is jammed with condescending arrogant pricks who would never admit to feeling that way. I think it’s pretty cool. It says a lot about Bono. I’m not the biggest fan of them. But it bothers me how he gets trashed by people for being some sort of arrogant condescending douche.. something that he clearly isn’t.

The time seems to have gone very quickly since this event happened! I was in Kensington Gardens when this event happened as you could not get into Hyde Park at all without a ticket as it was all fenced off including part of Kensington Gardens. But I walked around the part that was not fenced off and could here the music from there.
