      So glad you’ve tried it 😄 it’s saved me so much time! I’ve put them through the dishwasher and they’ve come out just as good as they look when they go it 🥰

      So you just use a regular oven

    Thank you for sharing this technique - I've just done this and am really pleased with the results - there is just one thing - when I peel off the tape there is quite a noticeable depth difference between the edge of the glitter and the glass - is this normal? It kind of looks unfinished

    This may sound crazy but can I use a regular stove-top oven? To cure it? How long do you leave the glasses in the oven Do I use a pan underneath so the glasses can sit on? Do I leave the oven open

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před rokem

      Hey 😄 I’ve never used one tbh, I have a standard double oven. Sometimes I use a tray in mine for the glasses so they are stable 👍 However it is the heat that cures it I would think as long as you set to the same temp and leave for an hour it could work 🤔 can you set temp on them?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching 💜 depends on where you are, but I (being in the UK) leave them to dry for a couple of hours - they need to be touch dry before going in the oven 😁 x

    Good morning ☀️
    After all the glitter is applied should you add another coat of MP or is the glitter the final coating?

    Can you explain the baking of the glass?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety +2

      I put them in the oven for an hour at 70 degrees Celsius as this sets the glue. Once baked and cooled they can be placed in the top rack in a dishwasher. If you choose not to do this then they can be left for 30 days at room temperature instead :) thanks for watching x

    Hi.. Love the work.. so even after you put them in the oven, do You still let it cure for 30 days after too?

  • @tiffanyallen3247
    @tiffanyallen3247 Před 2 lety +1

    Gm when you use dishwasher safe mod podage on glasses that is mean you can wash them

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před rokem

      Yes it does, as long as you have oven sealed them or left then to air dry for 30 days. As long as you’ve done either of these it will safe to wash 😁✨ x

    Does putting the wine glass in the oven helps with the drying process or the setting process? How long do you leave them in the oven?

  • @courtneystone9545
    @courtneystone9545 Před rokem

    I dont know if you answered this. But is it safe to put in the oven? Like no toxins from the glue ect?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před rokem

      I use modge podge which is an acrylic, water based and non-toxic product. I don’t believe it is certified food safe product however, which is why I leave space around the top of the glass for people to drink from 😄 if you don’t want to use the oven method you can leave your item out to cure for 28 days

  • @ivelizsantos3606

    Hi I tried using modge podge as my sealer but it just made it look super dull! Do you know why?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      Hey :) Oh no that's not great for these ... Was it dishwasher modge podge? As I've only used this and it always looks super sparkly. I will try one soon with normal modge podge and see if that makes a difference ... Thanks for watching x

    Your wine glasses don't break in the over are they a special heat resistant glass ?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety +3

      Hey :) No they don't break - it's only 70 degrees celsius so hot enough to cure them but not hot enough to break. Remember to leave them to cool in the oven when you turn it off to avoid any mishaps at that point! Thanks for watching x

  • @thelifeinthecaribbean.3669

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty

    How long do you let your glitter layers dry before applying another layer?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 3 lety

      Hi there 👋 thanks for watching! I let them dry for a couple of hours between layers - I have seen others put them in the oven at a low temp to cure the glue at these stages but I just left them on the side whilst I made other items. Hope that helps ♥️ x

  • @kimberlyfitzpatrick7058

    You don’t use epoxy or resin? How do you clean your brushes?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      Not at the moment i don't. Would like to try resin in the near future though but just need to get the safety equipment first. It's modge podge so i wipe of the glitter with kitchen roll and then just rinse them in water. Thanks for watching x

    How long do you have to wait between glitter applications?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      I wait a couple of hours (depending on the room temp / weather at the time). By this time the glue has dried to be touch dry

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty

    Hi. What glue did you use?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      Hi 😄 for these I use dishwasher modge podge so they can go on the top shelf of the dishwasher. I’ve seen people use normal modge podge but please only hand wash these if you do as they can’t be submerged. Thanks for watching 🥰 x

    Hello what glitter do you use??

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      Hey :) My glasses are a mix of ultra sparkly glitters and craft glitters. I try to buy Hemway glitter whenever possible here in the UK - I've found nothing better - but their colours in the biodegradable options are limited at the moment sadly. Hobbycraft do a good biodegradable craft size mix too. Thanks for watching x

  • @stephaniekerr7647
    @stephaniekerr7647 Před 2 lety

    Why heat set I am very new to this

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      Hi there, thanks for watching! I heat set so i don't have to wait the 30 days (Which is the other option). You need to either leave the dishwasher modge podge to set, either by the oven option i use or 30 days, so that it can go in the dishwasher. SPArtyCrafty x

  • @thelifeinthecaribbean.3669

    How long need to let it dry

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      In between coats 1-2 hours depending on temp at the time. For final setting 30 days if not using the oven set method. Thanks for watching x

    why do you put them in the oven?

    • @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty
      @SilverPenguinArtyCrafty  Před 2 lety

      This is to cure the glue to make it dishwasher proof. If you choose not to do this step leave the glasses to set for 30 days at room temp
