Dredd was in script purgatory for years, but actually wrapped filming about a year before Raid. however Raid was released first before Dredd, hence why ppl think Dredd copied Raid. both were filmed relatively close in time to each other. both are great movies adding their own flavor to a very similar premise.
Oh man I learn something new everyday thanks to comments like yours, I just said to someone else that The Raid beats Dredd (for me) just a little because I have a soft spot for martial arts!

dredd has a dystopian future cyberpunk eques... while the raid got that gritty, action martial art, early 2000s vibe

I think the police chief guy played Sub Zero in the newest Mortal Kombat film (the guy that fought Mad Dog in the room) He's also the main Character in The Night Comes for Us, Rama is also in it (main character of this film) I recommend The Raid 2 and The Night Comes For Us

Since the raid and the night comes for us, there's no indonesian action movie released, but earlier there's a new released action movie called 13 BOMBS or 13 BOM di jakarta, i haven't watch it yet but everyone said its a good movie. I hope it is really good and everyone can watch it just like the raid

idk if someone did said this before but the raid it's an Indonesian film made it by British director Gareth Evans he has been living on Indonesia for a while the Martial art that rama and mad dog does it's called penkat silat you should be watch the second one it's even better brutal as hell.

Joe t’admîmes before being an actor was a professional in judo won many medals. That’s why he ain’t fighting as Iko cause iko always practiced penchak Silat. They only had one million for this movie so really great movie and yeah all of them hurt themselves compared to Hollywood in penchak even if this a movie there’s touch 😮😂. @@soulsroll Ahh, I was curious why I didn't recognize it. I'm not familiar with the British military's medals. I did get a challenge coin from a Kiwi soldier in Afghanistan, he gave it to me when I was able to hold a conversation with him about the African Bush Wars. He was surprised that I knew the Kiwis fought in the Boer War, he gave me a challenge coin afterwards. In any case, I appreciate what you did.

@@soulsroll No, actually, I was never in Afghanistan. I was stateside for my entire contract. (I didn't join up to be infantry, I joined up to do SAR and disaster relief.)
Sorry, I should have specified better: I got the challenge coin from a Kiwi soldier who was deployed to Afghanistan with the NZ military and served alongside the US military. After his initial deployment, while he was in the US, that's when I met up with him and he gave me the challenge coin.
