Love them both. Have 1 of each. Ruger feels better in the hand so I ordered a hogue for my M&P. My Smith is ready for for an optic out of the box while my Ruger needs a plate. BOTH guns have feeding issues. The M&P issues are in the mag while Rugers are still somewhat of a mystery. If both these weapons are the only thing on my nightstand when a burglar enters my home, I’m grabbing the Smith.
Just picked up a ruger for my girl. Felt much better in the hands, but the smith was lighter to rack the slide and yes the trigger was a lil nicer. Might get 1 anyway. Would like to get the ruger carbine lc to pair up with the pistol.
I personally like the feel of Ruger better. The Ruger looks better too. If your going to put optics and a light on them, I think the Ruger looks better configured with optics and light. The Ruger 57 in FDE has a great look. Threaded barrels are obviously an option too for the Ruger.
Just fyi everyone, I held the new M&P .22 Mag at the same place & really dig the way it looks and felt-I kinda have fat fingers, & I believe Lucky Gunner may be wrong I think they are different lowers..czcams.com/video/m1KyIu2xqZY/video.html on the .22mag it seems less wide or less circumference all the way around. I am really interested in the .22 mag due to ammo prices...I know fiocchi & AAC are making 5.7 more affordable...either way cartridges with the right ammo may be good for the more recoil sensitive or smaller statured or just for fun.
Ruger feels better in the hand in general for, my Sec 9 was darn near perfect for me. Seeing similar comments here makes you wonder what research ruger has compared to s&w when it comes to grips.
I hear the smith, due to it's... I believe it was a rotating barrel (not tilting) is much softer shooting and more inherently accurate as the barrel does not tilt. Just what I recall so fare of what I've read/saw.
Perhaps idk...need to see groups on paper from a good shooter at 25 yards or something. I've got my own most Accurate 9mms this weekend at 25 and 50 yards and groups the week after SUB and check it out
I can say without a doubt the smith trigger feels alot better, both are great guns but it comes down to price on them. Had to buy a mp with the thumb safety.
The cartridge is literally what's holding back the development and popularity of these. Not enough supply of ammo plus the current prices. Besides FN & Federal who makes the round? Limiting themselves. I expect within a few years these will die out.
Fiocchi manufacturers all of it in the US. But as far as brands you’ve got Federal American Eagle, Fiocchi has two new offerings, AAC has two new offerings, Speer has a gold dot offering, then there’s boutique like elite ammunition, vanguard, and R&R. But more will come. 5.7x28 has been around since the late 80’s/early 90’s and endured in obscurity. It’s more popular now than it’s ever been. With numerous companies putting out new arms and ammunition it’s got a long healthy life ahead of it.
@@DanTheWolfman not that I’ve seen, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening. I know Armscor championed the .22TCM, which is a round competing in the same “space” as 5.7x28, so maybe that’s what you came across. My S&W preorder just arrived at the FFL today. Hoping to have it soon!
It's been 30+ yrs since FN Herstal created 5.7x28mm and the P90 and FiveseveN pistol for it. Those are still selling strong and there are now more other platforms for the caliber than ever.

Interesting...thanks. Did the Hogue make an improvement on the grip feel ergos of the Smith?

There you go...
Ruger is the best option.

Just thought people might like them Compared side by side first impressions. Not the cartridge for me personally. What do you think?
I like the Ruger. Better design imo. Looks like a Canik. If the trigger that's on the smith was on the Ruger, it would be perfect.
Hopefully they make it in other calibers
Ruger feels better in my hand. Super light weight. Trigger is not bad at all.
I didn’t have issues with the M&P in my hands; though I do have long slender fingers. Picked mine up for just under $630

Pick up a Walther sometime

I bought both just in case 🤷♂️
but did you really? what are pros and cons of each then?
Smith and wesson is better
Have you held them?
@@DanTheWolfman have you shot them yet?

Smith looks good.
I want the smith and wesson. Why not 😂
Ok then good enough reason for me
Tiger needs to go back to the drawing boards
Ruger? I like the way the Ruger looks and feels and sight picture
Оба прикупил?
uhhhhhhhh.....the Smith & Wesson will take a red dot. The Ruger will not!
learn to shoot
@@DanTheWolfman 🤣 love that response
I have a Riton red dot on my Ruger 57.
The factory plate was only $30, and the installation (for everything) took 10 mins.
