The hall has a fine, lively acoustic quality that's lending a bright glassy tone to the upper partials on the bowed strings. Almost what you might call a magical sound. I love this artist! Thank you for posting this performance.

Un concierto maravilloso por su contenido y sus intérpretes. Jordi Savall no necesita presentación, es el maestro, y Xavier Díaz Latorre, desde mi punto de vista, el laudista actual con mejor toque, gusto y visión de las obras que interpreta, ya sean españolas, francesas o alemanas. Su maestro Hopkinson Smith, debe estar muy satisfecho de su alumno.
This older music is lovely! I wish more people embraced this genre and demanded it on their local classical radio stations. It's so very soulful, isn't it?!!
It is indeed. It is introspective and reflective.
Agreed, except advertisers don't want to sponsor beautiful, eclectic music that is out of the mainstream of standard, generic, run-of-the-mill classical music. There's no return for their money in it. The vast scope of classical music listeners only want the wretched mediocrity of Haydn, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and what have you.
It is sublime.
It so speaks so deeply to my Soul. It always has since my mid teens. I find it very soothing, even now, though I am no longer young but still young at heart.

Isn't 108.000 views not enough?!> I think it is somewhat of a mass hysteria compared to the other music at this channel.
There are about 7 billion people Worldwide. So 108.000 is a very smal percentage off that number.
As told compared to other fine early music it still is a tsunami, but let's be grateful that it is a fine and easy entrance to the genre of early music.

Bravo, Xavier, tocas uno de los instrumentos mas extraordinarios que ha concebido el espíritu humano. Siempre pienso en el tipo de música que han de tocar los ángeles para recibir a las buenas almas a su llegada al paraíso, y entonces basta con escuchar a Monsieur de Visée y a alguien como tú desgranando una a una las notas de la partitura para que me entren deseos de estar allá.

+Folies Amsterdam I'd like to add my thanks, what beautiful music. I find the viola da gamba so much more interesting tonally than the more modern instruments. It never sounds sickly sweet, but is able to move you. Xavier's playing on tthe early guitar is wonderful too. I'd love to have been there in person!

In het begin van het stuk klinkt het als "Ack Värmeland du sköna" Een wemoedig lied over Värmland. Het stemt ook met de danspassen(tacten en intonatie) van sommige dansen hier. in Zweden. Ps ik was volkdansleisdster en "dansare" vele jaren. Zweden heeft een lange "spelemans-traditie".
