To all you skeptics, I was at a show of his recently and he brought me on stage, let me tell you, It's completely real (and even more mind blowing in person), It was months ago and im still shocked of how he did it. If you have the chance you should definitely go to his show.

Bull crap, I was pull on stage at a David Copperfield magic show in Vegas. And I can assure you it's all a load of bull. He had a group of us on stage running though tunnels to end up on the other side of the theatre, and him and his assistant quickly told us to play along. All these Vegas act magic/mentalist acts are all just illusions to trick the brain as fast as possible so you can't come up with an answer of how it was done. He just made you FEEL like it was real, it's all an illusion.

There is a weird cut between 8:21 and 8:22 where things don't quite match up (bill note in James' hand, his head position, Lior's movement), he must have replaced the note in James' hand
Also 8:41 the note was clearly open and straightened already then he opens a crinkled bill again
You have a point because the bill is completely enclosed in Jame's fist but after the cut it is hanging out of his hand.
YES, that is extremely disappointing. A blatantly obvious continuity mismatch in the scene cut transition where there should be 100% continuity to keep it convincing.
Yep, at 8:21 and 8:37, which tells me that they reshot a section and slid it in there. It honestly could have nothing to do with the trick at all, they just wanted to get a better angle. Unfortunately, I don't feel like that's a giveaway because editing is so prevalent on this show (watch any interview on Corden's show and there are sometimes edits for time).
The word I thought of was “cake” - they brought out a cake and there was a birthday reference. 😂🎉

You can tell he wanted to reveal the second 8 after the first one to build up expectation. But he said "second from the right" and that was misunderstood since these guys were facing him. But he covers it up so smooth and so quickly. This was a fun performance. I'm curious to know how it's done.

It’s pre-show work. Him or his team tell you what he’s going to ask and tell you to write it down somewhere without showing. But they have ways of knowing what you wrote before he ever calls you on stage.

His tricks are always so long winded but he's an incredible showman.
tbh the long windedness kind of kills the energy though. i was getting tired by the end of each "section" of his tricks.

@@beckscald3855 the weird thing is I was playing along and wasn't influenced at all :( I thought of "leaf" instead of "day" or any other words. and my number was 6 instead of 2. anyway apparently the whole thing was kinda rigged anyway.

I've seen mentalists explain how they're doing this kind of stuff (including him)... There is a pre-show (even when he explains the game), where the mentalist implant to your subconscious what he wants to write/choose... for example when he shows the papers with the number he holds the numbers he wants to you choose for just a little bit longer that you don't even notice, or the words appear somewhere in the studio, just slightly hidden that you don't really know you saw them but they influenced you.... things like that...
I don't believe implanting subconciously can be 100% reliable, with so many people, and magicians (Lior being one) will never risk something like that, unless they have multiple outs, and everything here was completely tidy and perfect
Yeah, I understand you can influence the choice of a number from 1 to 10, but here we are talking about hundreds of thousands of words they could have chosen from, and they picked the exact word they needed to, and it’s not only one person, all the 8 of them chose the right word. Also, what were the chances that in an audience of like 50 people, there was the exact girl who had the only one dollar bill in the whole world with James’s date of birth on. And don’t get me wrong, I love magic, and even if i know there is a trick behind it, thinking that some person thought of such a brilliant trick to amaze people really fascinates me, but this is clearly staged and I think this kinda blows the magic away.

That is a strange edit and camera angle switch.
It's possible that they cut, swapped in the correct dollar bill, and then continued on with the performance.
Since show business is known for having uncompromising integrity, this would never happen on a late night talk show made for entertainment.
I guess it will remain a mystery.

Well considering they don't record this live on air it's all too easy to do reshoots when someone messes up. Like how the bill goes from being opened up and then back to being crumpled up in James hand... its always scripted and planned out. It's worse than magic because at least magic doesn't pretend to be magic other than in name. Everyone knows when you go to see a magician there's some kind of trick being performed to present the illusion of real magic.

A person enters a glass box, a fan is turned on and blows all the bills in the air.
The person manages to grab one random bill!!!

Lior Soushard asks whose bill it is.
A girl says it's her bill.
And what word did she choose?? Birthday!!
Is there anyone in the world that can explain this phenomenon scientificlly??

I can explain it scientifically. It's a tv show. It's rehearsed, scripted and staged. Mindreading and psychics have been debunked again and again and again. The late James Randy put up a $1m prize in 1964 for ANYONE that could do anything like this for real under strict conditions. It hasn't been claimed in 58 years and James died without ever having a single person prove their ability with thousands applying.. This is theatrics. Magic doesn't exist, the entertainment comes from the performer. I'm not saying it isn't entertaining, just that what your seeing is an illusion.

Why would scientists waste time on a mentalist trick? Lior himself admits he is influencing people in some extend, using sleight hand in other parts of the show...It is not some kind of miracle...It is just a good show and there are tons of explanations that someone can give ( you really think the "dollar" james caught in the box was the one that was used by lior ?)
look at the cut at 8:35. The bill was forced/swapped out somehow. That had the number 22 (plant in audience to say birthday), and James' birthday number in reverse.
How he got everyone involved to choose the words/numbers they did is beyond me, unless they are all plants, which is possible but kinda lame.
There's one part of the trick that I can try and think of how it was done - it's the selection of the bill. I think they all had the same serial numbers, (can't believe the entire audience had dollar bills - they were probably given bills), and then this part of the trick was done with old traditional slight of hand when Lior "picked up" the bills that fell from the machine, changed them with his own bills, and used them to "prove" to James that they had different numbers from his bill. All that being said, there are so many other layers to this trick that imo it in no way explains the rest of them, most especially the random woman James chose who selected "birthday".
If you go back to 8:30, you can see James has an unfolded bill while Lior is reading off other serial numbers, then there seems to be a continuity moment as Lior shifts to James' bill and it is screwed up again. My guess is they briefly stopped filming or something and the bill was switched then. However, I can't really explain the number selections later - maybe they weren't 'random', and he was able to influence the '2' onto Owen and Jeff at the start 🤷♂
In fact if I'm being really picky, the shot at 8:36 inside the box shows a clear note sticking up in the middle at the back, and then 2 seconds later, it doesn't seem to be there, but there's a 'tall' note on the far back right instead. Seems suspect to me anyway
@@SG1998h Thanks for the great insight but for that particular part of the trick - I have no doubt that's how it was done. If they did give you guys bills with different numbers which you checked (already suspect that they gave it to you), then somehow the bills that ended up "flying" in the box weren't those bills. The only way to do this is to have all bills with the same number and then as Lior "picks up" a few bills to prove the numbers are different - he switches them.
The only thing I can think of is it is both that, and all the participants were plants. I hope that wasn't it because that would be really boring, and not a trick at all.
