BADASS Dr Phil approach to servicing your Lexus transmission fluid and filter. The same method may be used on similar style transmission's that don't have a dipstick and require filling and checking from underneath. Best cleaning product for a transmission pan I’ve seen thus far🤝🏾 epic vid
Please like and subscribe to help me grow the channel. I’m going to be releasing the video soon before I caught a major automotive repair facility in a lie. Be on the lookout for it.
Thank you! This helped me remove and install the fill plug cover!
Location, removal and installation.
And all the rest too! Thank you bro! Salute, respect.
Glad it helped you out. Please like subscribe and share to help me grow the channel.
Great video! I just bought a 04 Ls430 200k mi for a project and it’s having transmission issue. This video helps out a lot!
Thanks for the comment! Glad it helped you out! I’d appreciate if you would help support the channel thru the “Thanks” button.
Also, this video may not solve all your problems. I would encourage you to just replace the entire valve body with one of the units on eBay that have a lifetime guarantee.
@@griffzillagarage will do! I get a P0761 code for solenoid c code. But only when it’s cold it don’t want to shift correctly.
Really appreciate your video. My first time watching you. Awesome information.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I definitely appreciate if you would help me grow by sharing the channel and subscribing.
Thanks for the video. Thinking of doing this on my 04 LS430. Love that its short concise and to the point
Glad it helped you out. Plan on putting up the timing belt, alternator, and radiator videos next after I edit them. I appreciate any new subscribers in my effort to grow the channel. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again.
Nice video. I would use the Toyota oil filter kit with the rubber gasket just to keep things original.
Real educational and funny video.
How many miles did you do on your oil, and what type of oil and filter did you use? Thanks!
Great guide, thank you! My 2005 ls430 recently started jerking and p0976 came up later. Replaced few litres kf fluid ~20k km ago, but didnt have a new stainer in hand. How going to replace again + stainer and the gaskets. + to test the harness, since 976 says low voltage or performance solenoid stuck off. Thanks again
Glad it helped you out please like share and subscribe to help me grow the channel.
Love the German torque on them bolts !
Thanks. Please like subscribe and share to help me grow the channel!
What is the torque on the bolts? Great video. After replacing the filter & gasket and a partial (maybe 2 quarts) replacement of ATFWS, would you recommend doing another partial drain (2 quarts) and refill a couple of months later?
You’re gonna need about 4 quarts for the refill. 65 in lb for the torque spec. I wouldn’t do a drain and fill later.
Great video. In addition to ls430, I’m considering 2007 460. Any reliability concerns from the first year of the 460? I’ve heard brake actuator is a problem area.
Every vehicle will have some short comings. But I’m not familiar with anything that would deter me from buying one. Thanks for checking out the channel. I’d really appreciate if you would subscribe and share the channel with others to help it grow.
😊
Nice video 👍. I’m wondering what the part numbers are for the o ring for the filter for a 03 ls430?
Thanks! What filter are you looking for the O-ring for?
, my man - i drink whiskey -- you think it will clean the pan just as good as vodka? Thanks for the laugh!
Oh yeah! Whiskey works great! Would definitely appreciate if you would share, subscribe, and help me grow the channel.
Awesome video, definitely gives me the confidence to do this myself. My only question and it may be an obvious one is about the refill process. I have an 01 which does have a traditional dipstick, instead of the pump method from the bottom through the 15/16th port, would you just fill through the dipstick port?
Thanks again, would love to see one on a coolant flush!
Thanks. It always encourages me when you take the time to comment. Yes, I would absolutely fill through the dipstick tube if I had one. Would definitely appreciate if you would help grow the channel by sharing with others and subscribing. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Bro cracked a swig of grey goose before using it to clean the transmission pan, only mechanic id go to 😂
@@AryellBenedict thanks for the comment. Definitely appreciate if you would like, share, & subscribe to help me grow the channel.
Great video
I have an 06 lexus ls430 ,looks like you used valvoline transfluid, is that the same as w.s.?
To my knowledge the Valvoline Maxlife is compatible. When the customer took it to Lexus they said it’s “not what they use, but it’s fine”.
I remember that song! Bemore careful.
Yeah, Chainsaw and Billy both enjoyed that. I have a couple nods to Chainsaw in that one. Recently started talking with him on messenger.
What are you spraying to clean the transmission at 4:23? Brake cleaner?
Yes
Yes. Thanks for checking out the video. If it helps you out, please like and subscribe and share the channel to help grow it.
would it be late to do it if my ls 430 has 125k miles
I don’t think it’s ever too late to do a fluid and filter service. I never recommend a flush. Some people would disagree with me and that’s OK, but after 20 years of doing this, I feel confident in telling you that this service is just fine, but I highly recommend AGAINST a flush. please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I would really appreciate it if you would subscribe and help share the channel. Thank you.
Thank you for the advise, this is a great video on how to drain the fluid. I appreciate the great knowledge and advise.@@griffzillagarage
@@defiantdavid2317 really appreciate you taking the time to comment. It helps me grow the channel. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
@@griffzillagarage one more question. Since draining the transmission fluid does not entirely get rid of all of the fluid, how do I know how much fluid to put? Do I compare the amount that came out, or is there another way of knowing when it's full?
@@defiantdavid2317 does your LS430 have a dipstick?
There are 20 bolts holding the pan and you only said torqued 8 times. Not good for a tight relationship. Excellent video though. Thank you Sir.
Yeah, I was hoping people in a successful relationship would get the general idea of applying the proper technique in the applicable areas. There is too much of a good thing, as well as too little of a good effort.
In my efforts to provide professional relationship advice, maybe spread the word and get me some more subscribers.
What if it’s black with 175,000 miles and you don’t know the history would you still change it?
I would do a fluid and filter service. NOT A FLUSH.
