  • "Stories will be told"
A melancholic poem for reflecting on your life
    //
    A QUESTION
    Did you reconcile
    Before your death?
    Did you see that place
    That took your breath?
    Did you love?
    Did you lose your way?
    Yes, some will say.
    Was it all worthwhile
    At the end?
Did you find all you wanted
    And find it lacking?
Did you find yourself once again
    Looking where you'd never been?
    Perhaps.
    Then again -
    Did you see the Sun
    Give way to night
    And rage against it;
    Or lose the fight?
    Did you sleep
    Or make yourself fit?
    That's it.
    Ours to choose our way,
    Not the path.
    Winning is in the fighting
    Not in the outcome
The value of a man in war
    Is found in the aftermath
    Perhaps.
    Did you live to share
    Your life so dear?
    Did you hope and hold
    Precious things near?
    Either way,
    Stories will be told
    Yes.
    Or No.
