    Years later and I still use your videos for all kinds of set ups in the game 😊. I recently upgraded to Fanatec and was having trouble with my wheel setup. 11 minutes later and I’m not only good to go but also more knowledgeable on each adjustable setting. Thanks man!!

    I have used you setups in the past although I have found others that seem to better suit my driving style but I want to say thanks for your time & effort in the community. I do have to say your audio are ALWAYS distorted,. I know this vid is a year old but perhaps you'll be notified & read this. I have been trying to make my controller better so was watching this but it doesn't work for me either. But I guess no one has pointed it out but the audio in ALL of your videos is distorted & hard to listen to above a whisper. Not criticizing just saying so maybe you can do something about that in the future. Thanks again.

      I'm going to give you two replies. First, let me update you on some in-game settings, then I will go to the actual wheel settings. I'm always trying new things to see if I can get better, so let me tell you about a few things that I've tried since I did this video. I've tried turning the centering spring off and I actually liked it better. Maybe I've developed enough muscle memory that I don't need the spring, but turning it off helped. I've also found that at tracks where you're barely off the gas and the get back on the gas hard, I can turn the throttle sensitivity way up. Finally, I've also found that at short tracks and road courses, I've gone to the game play settings and turned the brake smoothing off. It seems like it makes it easier to slow the car down for the turns. I wouldn't recommend this for tracks >1 mile, because it's so easy to lock up the brakes, it makes getting onto pit road a real challenge.

      Here's my wheel settings: Sen 270, FF 100, Dri 3, FEI 0, BLI 100, SHO 100, Brf Lo. The wheel is so adjustable, it took me a month or two to get it dialed-in. Play with different settings and see what works for you. One thing that I did receive as a tip, was that the FEI makes huge difference in the Heat games, and to run it between 0-30, so you might want to start with that adjustment, but overall, it's about what feels comfortable to you.

    Great video , do u have any tips on entering and exiting corners on regular oval tracks ? I guess it matters on track snd tune but I would like a general tactic on I should enter exit exit corners. How to practice them ? Like should go in a corner full throttle and let off gas while in the turn and then accelerate when exiting ?

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  Před 3 lety +2

      Each track is different, but I have some general rules to follow. The first one is one of the hardest to learn: Corner exit is more important than corner entry. A lot of newer racers think that the key to a fast lap is to drive a car into a corner as deep as possible, and this just isn't true. Your corner entry only affects you from corner entry to mid-corner. Corner exit affects you from mid-corner all the way down the next straight stretch until you hit the next turn, which is a much bigger portion of the track. Corner speed is not about how deep you can drive a car into a corner, it's about how quickly you can get back on the gas to exit the corner. Next, start the corner early. At most tracks, you want to start coming off the wall and arcing into the corner while you're still on the straight stretch. Mid-corner is where you want to be on the bottom of the track, next to the apron. This is true almost everywhere except Kansas, where you rim ride. Think of the corner as making the widest arc that you can, but the apex of the arc has to put the car at the bottom of the track, so it's a wide arc that starts when you're on the straight stretch, the apex is in the middle of the corner at the bottom of the track and the end of the arc is the exit of the corner back against the wall. The final tip is to take a wide exit. I used to try and keep the car at the bottom of the track all the way through the exit, but I found that by keeping the car at the bottom and not letting it drift to the wall as you exit, you're losing speed on the straight stretch. Finally, at tracks that are a trioval or D-Shaped Oval (Chicagoland, Charlotte, Atlanta, Auto Club), let car drift out to the wall on exit, but then come back down the track to the bottom or apron as you go through the tri-oval. You don't lose any speed by going to the bottom and you shorten the front stretch a little bit. Each track is a little bit different, but these are some general rules that apply to almost all corners, and almost all tracks. I hope this is what you were looking for.

      @@theset-upman3500 u are awesome and thank you for detailed response. Questions I have since I’m new to this nascar but want to learn . When u say deep in the corner , are we saying racers right away go straight down to the apron once the corner starts ? If so, we should not do that because of what u explained up too ? When u mentioned mid corner , are we talking about apex? Also Regarding straight stretch ? When I see a corner coming , are we saying get off the wall but stay in the middle of the track and not go down to the apron right away ? I should go to the apron when I hit the apex ? • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  Před 2 lety

      I've asked several people about this, and I've gotten two answers. First, the only way to reset it, is to uninstall and re-install the game, or log in using a different GT. The second answer was completely opposite. The second answer was to adjust the rotation on your wheel, and the game will automatically adjust, which basically means that the 270/900 setting in the game is basically meaningless if your wheel overrides that setting.

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  Před 2 lety

      I'm not sure what's causing it, but here's my guess. The wheel is oscilating, which means that it wants to jerk back and forth if you don't hold a very firm grip on it. Adjust your NDP (Natural Damper) and NFR (Natural Friction) settings and see if you can reduce or eliminate it. I can't remember whether you go up or down on those settings, but try moving them all the way up or all the way down and see if one of those helps.

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  Před 2 lety

      Use the Thrustmaster to boot up the game, or turn your controller off once the game boots up. The game recognizes whatever controller was used to boot the game as the default controller, so you have to either boot the game up using your wheel or turn off the controller once the game boots up.

      @theset-upman3500  Před 2 lety

    • @bigmangart
      @bigmangart Před 2 lety

      Turns out there is a way to invert your pedals so that you can hang the pedal set upside down. So they added a wheel setting that can invert your gas and brake so I accidentally swapped it from floor which is the normal setting to inverted somehow.

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  Před 2 lety +1

      I used to run with a Thrustmaster, and inverted the gas and clutch by accident one time. I thought that I had destroyed my wheel. I was in a panic until I found out that there was a way to put it back to the normal settings. I didn't know that running them upside down was the reason that Thrustmaster had that option. I was about to respond and tell you that there is some sequence of buttons (I can't remember the exact sequence, but I'm sure that it's somewhere on the internet) that you push to get it back to normal settings.

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  Před 3 lety +1

      This is a great question. The first time you play the game, I think it asks you if you want your wheel rotation to be 270 degrees or 900 degrees, but after you make the initial selection, I don't think there's an option to get back to that screen. However, most wheels have options to change the degree of rotation, and I think that if you change it on your wheel, the game will accept it. I tested this by changing mine from 270, to 360, 450, 540 and 900, and the game accepted the changes. You can verify this by going into the "Player 1" controls and testing the sensitivity once you've made the change. So, I'd start by seeing how you change the degree of rotation on your wheel instead of within the game. Hope this helps.
