What a dignified and classy man!
Washboard Bill - what a happy feller! Look how he was always smiling! He looks a lot younger than 82! What an inspiration!
This was a good friend of mine and negbor on datura and sappidlla washboard Bill you are truly missed
Thanks for posting!
Awesome!
METAL SPOONS, WASHBOARD ,TIN LIDS SIMPLE HOUSEHOLD OBJECTS BUT WHAT FANTASTIC RHYTHMS IN THE HANDS OF EXPERTS WHO'VE DEVOTED HOURS OF PRACTICE (47 years!!!!). SO FOOT TAPPY AND ENTERTAINING. (deep south of lil ol England UK)
loved that! thanks
OK, David speaks with a California accent and he's got a college degree...Big deal. The work he has done to preserve this music and make these people known to the general public greatly overrides any dorkiness(?) he may have. Not everyone can be from south "jogia" when they do programs of this nature. No one seems to mind Pete Seeger's New Yawk accent when he sings old folk songs. David is obviously digging the hell out of what he is doing and doesn't need to apologize to anyone. You go David.
NICE!!! I LIVE IN MIAMI AND NEVER KNEW THIS!!
wow I live in ft lauderdale first time hearing about him, hope he is still around.someone please me know
Is he the same Washboard Bill who recorded the single "In the Morning / River Boat Dock" on King Records in 1956?
the interview was in 1988 so anyone thats asking if hes around, i think hes either the worlds oldest man or dead because he was 82 then,
@bostonteabagger71739 And being a dork is something to be ashamed of? :D
