So both Stephen Cannell and I were raised in Southern California. The beach. Corvettes. Girls in bathing suits. Not much more to say. Here's a show where the crimestoppers aren't serious, the danger's not serious - sure they're bein' shot at...funny how they never get hit. An old Sikorsky helicopter that barely flies. I grew up with this song when I was a kid in the 80s, in Italy 😊
The fact that YT allows me to eventually thank you directly, after all these years, for this cherished memory is a wonder in itself.

The people who made this show, figured out WHAT WORKS from other shows, and put it all together.
1- Good looking, funny private detectives.
2- Have two of them, like Simon and Simon so they can talk to each other. Otherwise you get Magnum PI talking to himself in his head all the time.
3- They gotta live on a boat, like Sonny Crocket.
4- They have a helicopter, but they can fly it, so they don’t need TC.
5- Need a hot red convertible. Corvette Check.
6- A smart computer guy. But it’s a pain to go see him at his office, so he needs to live with them.
7- Some kind of robot, like KITT, only funnier. Check.
8- a speed boat , like Crocket.
9- and a theme song by Mike Post.
10- Opening credits with explosions and a bunch of fun clips.

Throw it all together and you got a show baby.

I'm not familiar with this show. Must have been short lived but I would of been a youngster when it aired. Caught the end of an episode of Magnum P. I. (a favorite in my teen years,) this afternoon, then had to go, but not before watching and listening to theme music for the Rockford Files which was on next.

The Rockford Files theme song always worth a listen
