I work in a kitchen. Corporate already banned smoking on company property. Then our boss tried to ban energy drinks since he got all conscious about our health for some reason one week. Eventually our assistant manager had to explain to him that angry men, no sleep, nicotine withdrawal and access to sharp objects wasn’t a good combo for “workplace safety”.
These unenforceable rules remind me of when the shop banned headphones for a week. Literally the day after they banned headphones everyone had a Bluetooth speaker attached to their belt or at their workstation blasting music or audiobooks at max volume. They immediately revoked that rule.
Technically my job has headphones banned. In reality its closer to keep one ear able to hear your surroundings. Long as you can respond apropreatly when someone tries to get your attention nothing will be said about you listening to tunes/whatever. Most of us just run with a single earbud in.
My last job banned the blue tooth radios too when we tried that. I just rigged up a little speaker in my welding hood that you you could only hear while wearing it because I kept the volume at just the right level. Then that idiot manager got fired because production tanked and everyone went back to wearing headphones.
The most awful rule at construction sites is the no music rule. No headphones or speakers Makes the day so much more monotonous. When we got stuck at a non union site we had a Bluetooth speaker going the entire month we were posted there.
Yeah, when headphones and earbuds were specifically banned at job, I literally just used a Bluetooth speaker. When they told me to stop using speakers, I began to very loudly sing shanties, work songs and folk songs as I worked. To say the very least I am now allowed to have a speaker play music, because they got tired of hearing the same 12 songs being sung for entire workshifts.
I was laying in drainage pipe for a Coca-Cola plant and one day I was informed that we were not allowed any Coke competitors or competition partners on the job. This included KFC, Taco Bell, Gatorade, etc. I told them if they wanted pipe laid they would ignore what I ate and drank and worry more about the job (while drinking a Bang energy drink). I never heard another word about it
Imagine how much wiser it would have been to take a poll of what all you guys were drinking, and instead provide a work fridge on site with the coca-cola products of that type. Bunch of guys would probably start drinking them instead and give them that public image they want, and they get the good sentiments of their workers.

They told me as an employee the exact same thing as I sat in my car on my off the clock lunch hour drinking a MTN DEW and eating a KFC bucket of chicken. I looked at them and said as long as I AM THE ONE PAYING FOR WHAT I EAT THEN I WILL DAMN SURE BE EATING A MEAL I ACTUALLY ENJOY.
What baffles me is that construction sites actually think they can effectively enforce such a ban. People WILL find a way to get their fix one way or another, even if that means bringing a “water” bottle or chugging the whole drink at the convenience store.
i had a job where energy drinks were banned.. like monster and redbull. but they stocked the break room machine with JOLT cola.. not the energy drink version but basic jolt.. and to this day it's the only place i could find it.. didn't even know they were still making it after 1999
I don't take them but I work for a portable restroom company and they tried to ban that and any type allergy med that made made you drowsy. I take Allegra-D in the summertime in North Carolina and I told the. I will continue to take them. They said they were concerned about my health. I'm like so am I. That is why I am taking them
Straight up, my whole crew would just keep drinking them and to hell with the consequences. We got a call in the hall right now for 4 more people that's been there since February. We still haven't seen a new person on this project. If they got rid of everyone that drank energy drinks, this project would never get finished.
Used to have a petty boss who would moan about stupid stuff but nobody ever listened to his bs and he couldn’t fire any of us since nobody wants to work for his ass lol. I got a boss now that doesn’t care what you do so long as the work is done and it’s done right.

I had a federal job where my boss told me that it was not "ok" to be having multiple red bulls through out the day. I came in two days later with a signed and dated letter from my doctor saying I am required to have access to sugary drinks and vitamin B. They legally cannot stop me from drinking or eating during work anymore. My doctor found it hilarious and agreed, "first time I've ever prescribed redbull that's for sure" but that's what I needed through out the day to deal with hypoglycemia and low vitamin counts. Also turns out my job was causing vitamin D deficiencies so yeah, then I'm allowed to take breaks outside too.
I had a captain show up trying to ban them because he saw some videos on how they were terrible for you. Let alone my particular job involved some pretty nasty hazardous chemicals such as jp8, mek and other fun stuff. Next was smoking they moved our smoke pit as far as they could to try and keep us from smoking.
See my time in federal work known as the military, they won't dare....you tell a bunch of grumpy lack of sleep troops who are trained marksmen....they can't have their energy drinks to keep them awake and alert...or their nicotine. Odds of catching a 556 in ones backside are high at that point. In rickys case its just low productivity.
I was on a jobsite that banned them, we worked nights so we drank them and tossed em in the electricians trash cans (they inspected trash cans for food and drink evidence) and they got yelled at all the time
Worked pipeline for 6 years and few companies tried to make this a thing. Never have I ever followed it and never will I. Its bullshit, job is hard enough without folk trying to play my mommy.
They didn’t ban them at my job, but they had a whole hour long safety meeting about how they’re bad for you. Needless to say I drank one as soon as I walked out of that room.

He looked at our manager who had a Red bull in his hand as well and actually said that he did not think anyone appreciated the meeting. Ummm. Nope!

I had a job that banned energy drinks during the summer. So I brought liquid caffeine to add to squincher and water. My squincher was so caffenated that it qualified as liquid methamphetamine.
Had a supervisor tell me "you can't have anything other than water on the floor" and than 15 minutes later said "I'm going on a coffee run, who wants some?"
I'm pretty sure everyone at work would have a sworn affidavit stating that "Supervisor went for a sip of water, and he was a little enthusiastic about getting that sip... hence, the broken jaw, teeth, nose, cheekbones, and all the bits of cup embedded in supervisor's oral cavity." "energy drinks are banned" Listen I am not even in construction I have cooked and I have done customer service. this rule was tried once for about an hour and so little got done it would have been easier to take the money running it for that hour and light it. Also I do not know about you but energy drinks allow me to handle enough idiocy to get through my day, because I do not have a murder charge to date but I would also like to keep it that way. I will go from allowing morons at work to breathe my air, to figuring out the fastest ways I can go from unseen and unheard to the blue collar version of SAW and no one needs that. I know plenty of others are like that as well. Ban caffeine in a state for one week and all customer service personnel will either be responsible for a bloodbath unseen since dracula or will leave the state and those jobs just arent getting done that week.

I was a supervisor for years in the hvac field and I had a really cool welder working for me . One day I asked him if there was any thing he could do to "expedite " the schedule. His answer was hhmmmmm.... " if you don't like this speed you sure..... as hell ain't gonna like the next one " end of quote!!!! I left him alone from then on!!! 😉
Boss tried that once. Energy drinks banned from the business, we couldn't even have them in the break room. So we all started drinking them in the Home Depot parking lot across the street. Energy drinks banned Monday, ban lifted Wednesday same week.

@@ChalkyHonky I usually only smoke a little bit at work and that’s not every day anymore, but with the heat as hot as it has been, and the insulation as itchy as it has been, I’ll punch a hole in plywood if I go a full week working 10-12 hours without any, I don’t usually smoke enough to get me baked but enough to give me good vibes.

Fuck ton of digging, breaking out old concrete, and hauling way too many wheelbarrows of material lol. Also we repair structual damage to all sorts of buildings, and lift and level every sort of house whether wood crawl space or concrete. It's not bad but it sucks in FL summer. Like everything in FL summer.
@Marter Turensker nah sucks and pays shit. But it's enough. I like my crew. I'm friends and neighbors with the office manager. We all get away with alot of shit but get paid vacations and bonuses. If we get back early at 1pm, we still get paid until 3:30. Still get OT on hard days even if we have early days. And the owner/engineer spends most of his time in costa rica banging hookers at 65 years old. So we all basically run the show without major overhead.

If I ever actually heard any boss try to implement these kind of rules, I would literally break them on purpose, even if I did not drink energy drinks, I would start drinking them just because they said I couldn’t.

Without it you are jot a nice person. Nor are you able to make rational choice without it. I feel like I'm the only person who has actually successfully quit caffeine and has proudly never gotten addicted to energy drinks in my field. It was hard at first, I was rough for a few days, but I switched to decaf, then a herbal tea to supplement it. Now I just start my day with pure natural energy and willpower, baby! And I actually find it much easier to be centered and balanced emotionally and logically
It's all about water really ..... You see without water there can be no coffee, and without coffee, I will likely kill every dumb MF I come across, so no coffee everyone dies, water is essential for life lol

I would stop drinking caffeine for a week and just not be productive. When asked about it I will let them know that since they are banning my primary caffeine method this is my new work pace.
I drink maybe a handful of energy drinks a year, don’t like them. But I have a coffee addiction going back to first grade. I can tell you, for a fact, that medical treatment is required if I don’t get caffeine. I’ve never worked a job where coffee wasn’t provided. And I can promise you, I’ll make sure it is documented as mine of duty/ workmen’s compensation if I go into withdrawal.
My job pulled that bs I’d get a monster energy sticker and slap it on the work truck, then buy monster energy clothes and start drinking monster, I’ll even get a sponsorship if I can lol.

I actually had a safety "person", a women who has probably never held a sawz-all let alone used one in her 25 years on this earth, that I was using it in an unsafe manner. We were doing contract work at a Six Flags and I told this to my boss while we were having a couple of twisted teas on our lunch break. We had a good laugh and he just said make sure you have your safety glasses on, smile and say "OK. You show me how to do it then."

I went even further at my last job and after being told to read the entire safety binder, I handed it back with the 2 pages worth of errors and inconsistencies I'd found. i.e.: Daily inspection for truck says it must have 2 20lb fire extinguishers. Monthly inspec says "2.5lb fire extinguishers" but no number so at least 2. Meaning that at the month's end, the truck needed to have no less than 4 fire extinguishers in it. It never had more than 1. Every stuporvisor, the GM, and the safety dork had all signed off on before I'd read it and then got all pissy every time I brought it up when they tried to whine at me about if I was doing something safely or not. I lost that job in December after accumulating a 2" thick disciplinary folder and the place has been a train wreck ever since.

The Monster Zeroes are my favorite energy drinks simply because of taste. I just stick to the white and sometimes blue. But you make a great point. The work your probably doing is far more unhealthy for you than the energy drinks.

I remember at my last job when they banned tobacco products company wide (die cast work) it didn't have the desired effect they wanted, everybody was either on extreme edge or (me) didn't give to shits and kept dipping all night anyway

The only time I got a buzz or awake feeling from coffee was driving back to the uk from france. we stoped off for fuel, a crock mr sick on toast. I though the coffe machine was broken, I kept pressing the button to get another tablespoon of coffee in my large cup and done my bosses too. 16 odd expressos do hit you like a fucking train. doesn't last as long as other things like it. But I was wide eyed like a fucking buzzing owl all the way to the eurostar terminal.
I never used to drink coffee, just tea, until I started working away from home and was wiped out one Friday doing the return drive home. The gaffer came over with a double shot Latte and fk me I was wired for ages haha Now I drink almost as much coffee as I do tea haha 😄
The office personnel ban the energy drinks for laborers that desperately need a boost, while they work 10 yards from a coffee/espresso machine sitting in the air conditioning all day.

I would be a hybrid between Ricky and Roscoe. 6 cups of coffee before leaving the house, got the next 3 in my travel mug on the way into work, and one I'm at work, 2 monster BFC's by lunch. I'm so caffeine desensitized, most people, including my doctors wonder how the hell I'm still alive and maintain normal resting heart rate and blood pressure.
I can get to work without caffeine, but caffeine keeps my ADHD in check. So my wife and coworkers all like that I drink coffee, tea, red bull, m80, or whatever I can get my hands on.

A former boss of mine tried this once, but they included all drinks including water. All but 4 people called in, for several days each, over three whole departments. 3 of the 4 that did come in still had energy drinks ( or coffee) in hand, they just didn't care.
That is just crazy. I understand certain jobs having liquids hanging around can be a hazard but you cannot prevent people from staying hydrated. Not only is it illegal it is just stupid. Your more likely to have an accident from people being dehydrated which can affect concentration and overall brain function.
48 is a long ways away from say 90....those things are horrible for you. Honestly that much coffee would be bad for you. At the end of the day, it still should be his choice though. If it's not endangering his coworkers the office should have no say in it.

Gam3kid I think the only reason I'm alive is due to being on a 4 monster java, 2 Rockstar, and 3 pots of coffee a day regimen. It confuses the hell outta my doc, due to a slightly elevated heart rate, still acceptable, and slightly lower than average blood pressure. And as I told him when he said I need to slacken off on the caffeine usage. I calmly said, hell that's the only reason my heart is still beating, and the only reason I'm not in jail. He chuckled and said it'll probably still be beating 100 years after I'm dead. P.S. caffeine tolerance is a real thing. And I NEED it.

I'm a welder/fabricator. I had a safety man tell me there was no more smoking on the job because it was a fire hazard. Before he could finish his rant the hood of his winter work coat was on fire from the guy cutting, dropping slag above him. Yeah we had a great laugh.
I'd like to see Safety Man try to tell a Navy Command Master Chief or a Marine Sgt.Major "No Coffee". The verbal slaughter would be EPIC & Brutal and they wouldn't even have to touch him.

I have had my boss tell off another work crew for daring to say I was fucking around on my phone. (I was, but the tasks were finished soo...) actually said and I quote, "He is probably looking up a new way he to do this job that might be faster or cost us less." Being lazy has gotten me so far and my body is still mostly intact, running around like a chicken with his head cut off. That was aweful and I barely got paid, now I get paid pretty okay and spend most of my day in the shade and do a minimal amount of work. It's like when you become a free agent in hockey, everyone throws ungodly amounts of money at you.
Alright, I will no longer be bringing energy drink /cans/ to the job site. I acknowledge your ban, and will make sure that when I buy my energy drinks, that the /cans/ will not make it to work. I will instead be bringing a large, opaque beverage container, full of a "drink" that I will disclose to you as "soda", "seltzer" or "soft drink".
I got one worse than all this stuff.... Our shop toilets are prone to plugging. When they do plug up they are very slow to calling a plumber. They have to cable it because of a bad bend.... So anyway the last time it plugged we were told we would just have to hold it. No trips next door to the convenience store either. So my response was to shyte/spray into a cheapo deapo white kitchen trash bag. I have no gaul bladder so you can imagine the pattern i left in that bag. I made sure to hold it up and explain to everyone what i just did in that bag....including the boss as i was walking it out to the dumpster. Two days later the plumbers were tearing the floor out to fix the bend. I heard several people complained to HR about my brown splattered white trash bag incident.....💩💩💩💩💩💩😁👍

Just asking, I am assuming that they would pass out coffee and wings along with some bugger sugar to get more work done. Everyone I hope you realize that coffee breaks were invented to get more work done and actually it was ww1 the work day break started in the lining industry, the males went to work and the women couldn’t work all day and productivity was down. So the women asked for breaks to help them get through the workday. With that came coffee ect. Coffee breaks thank you women for not being as productive.
Had a boss that wanted to start doing UAs. His top tech told him he would loose a lot of people and him being one of them..... those UAs were never mentioned again.
When I was at the factory I saw guys smashing Red Bull and Monster back to back to back. Not to mention the caffeine pills. I’m best friends with a veteran who would sometimes take a caffeine pill with his Red Bull. And I was with everyone doing some of this too. But it was almost anything you could do to get through those work days because I know that in one day I had moved ten tons of glass containers in boxes on pallets with a hand jack in one day. So I had to book it that day. I have moved many times that in the years and you were not given leniency from company people.
For once I have to agree with Rasco and the safety man!!! I lost my daughter to energy drinks at the tinder age of 19, ITS NOT THE CAFFEINE, ITS THE POTASSIUM! She was dieting and drinking energy drinks and and she got an overdose of potassium and her heart stopped and she had no oxygen for her brain for 6.5 minutes and the only thing left of her brain was the lower stem which controlled the heart and lungs! She was in a coma for 8 weeks and had to have her braces removed so they could do an MRI and there was nothing left of her brain ! After 14 months and things continually getting worse and bad staphylococcal infection twice we just gave her pain medicine band let nature take it’s course! I have heard of many kids dying from these things!

I actually preach about these things on the job site as a safety man it is my obligation but I would never say that they are banned, ya can’t take away free will from people!

These unenforceable rules remind me of when the shop banned headphones for a week. Literally the day after they banned headphones everyone had a Bluetooth speaker attached to their belt or at their workstation blasting music or audiobooks at max volume. They immediately revoked that rule.
Technically my job has headphones banned. In reality its closer to keep one ear able to hear your surroundings. Long as you can respond apropreatly when someone tries to get your attention nothing will be said about you listening to tunes/whatever. Most of us just run with a single earbud in.

My last job banned the blue tooth radios too when we tried that. I just rigged up a little speaker in my welding hood that you you could only hear while wearing it because I kept the volume at just the right level. Then that idiot manager got fired because production tanked and everyone went back to wearing headphones.
The most awful rule at construction sites is the no music rule. No headphones or speakers Makes the day so much more monotonous. When we got stuck at a non union site we had a Bluetooth speaker going the entire month we were posted there.

When they told me to stop using speakers, I began to very loudly sing shanties, work songs and folk songs as I worked.

I never heard another word about it

Imagine how much wiser it would have been to take a poll of what all you guys were drinking, and instead provide a work fridge on site with the coca-cola products of that type. What baffles me is that construction sites actually think they can effectively enforce such a ban. People WILL find a way to get their fix one way or another, even if that means bringing a “water” bottle or chugging the whole drink at the convenience store.

I had a federal job where my boss told me that it was not "ok" to be having multiple red bulls through out the day. I came in two days later with a signed and dated letter from my doctor saying I am required to have access to sugary drinks and vitamin B. They legally cannot stop me from drinking or eating during work anymore. My doctor found it hilarious and agreed, "first time I've ever prescribed redbull that's for sure" but that's what I needed through out the day to deal with hypoglycemia and low vitamin counts. Also turns out my job was causing vitamin D deficiencies so yeah, then I'm allowed to take breaks outside too.

I had a captain show up trying to ban them because he saw some videos on how they were terrible for you. Let alone my particular job involved some pretty nasty hazardous chemicals such as jp8, mek and other fun stuff. Fuck ton of digging, breaking out old concrete, and hauling way too many wheelbarrows of material lol. Also we repair structual damage to all sorts of buildings, and lift and level every sort of house whether wood crawl space or concrete. It's not bad but it sucks in FL summer. Like everything in FL summer.

If we get back early at 1pm, we still get paid until 3:30. Still get OT on hard days even if we have early days. And the owner/engineer spends most of his time in costa rica banging hookers at 65 years old. So we all basically run the show without major overhead.

I feel like I'm the only person who has actually successfully quit caffeine and has proudly never gotten addicted to energy drinks in my field. It was hard at first, I was rough for a few days, but I switched to decaf, then a herbal tea to supplement it. Now I just start my day with pure natural energy and willpower, baby! And I actually find it much easier to be centered and balanced emotionally and logically

I actually had a safety "person", a women who has probably never held a sawz-all let alone used one in her 25 years on this earth, that I was using it in an unsafe manner. We were doing contract work at a Six Flags and I told this to my boss while we were having a couple of twisted teas on our lunch break. We had a good laugh and he just said make sure you have your safety glasses on, smile and say "OK. You show me how to do it then."

I went even further at my last job and after being told to read the entire safety binder, I handed it back with the 2 pages worth of errors and inconsistencies I'd found.

Daily inspection for truck says it must have 2 20lb fire extinguishers.
Monthly inspec says "2.5lb fire extinguishers" but no number so at least 2.
Meaning that at the month's end, the truck needed to have no less than 4 fire extinguishers in it.
It never had more than 1.
Every stuporvisor, the GM, and the safety dork had all signed off on before I'd read it and then got all pissy every time I brought it up when they tried to whine at me about if I was doing something safely or not.
I lost that job in December after accumulating a 2" thick disciplinary folder and the place has been a train wreck ever since.

The only time I got a buzz or awake feeling from coffee was driving back to the uk from france. we stoped off for fuel, a crock mr sick on toast. I though the coffe machine was broken, I kept pressing the button to get another tablespoon of coffee in my large cup and done my bosses too. 16 odd expressos do hit you like a fucking train. doesn't last as long as other things like it. But I was wide eyed like a fucking buzzing owl all the way to the eurostar terminal.

I never used to drink coffee, just tea, until I started working away from home and was wiped out one Friday doing the return drive home. The gaffer came over with a double shot Latte and fk me I was wired for ages haha
Now I drink almost as much coffee as I do tea haha 😄

The office personnel ban the energy drinks for laborers that desperately need a boost, while they work 10 yards from a coffee/espresso machine sitting in the air conditioning all day.

I would be a hybrid between Ricky and Roscoe. 6 cups of coffee before leaving the house, got the next 3 in my travel mug on the way into work, and one I'm at work, 2 monster BFC's by lunch. I'm so caffeine desensitized, most people, including my doctors wonder how the hell I'm still alive and maintain normal resting heart rate and blood pressure.

I can get to work without caffeine, but caffeine keeps my ADHD in check. So my wife and coworkers all like that I drink coffee, tea, red bull, m80, or whatever I can get my hands on.

A former boss of mine tried this once, but they included all drinks including water. All but 4 people called in, for several days each, over three whole departments. 3 of the 4 that did come in still had energy drinks ( or coffee) in hand, they just didn't care.
by law they can't stop you from drinking. It's a necessity for life. dumbasses.
That is just crazy. I understand certain jobs having liquids hanging around can be a hazard but you cannot prevent people from staying hydrated. Not only is it illegal it is just stupid. Your more likely to have an accident from people being dehydrated which can affect concentration and overall brain function.

I know a guy who drinks 5-6 Monster drinks every day at 48 and he's still going. He said it's not bad for you, it keeps his blood pumping.
48 is a long ways away from say 90....those things are horrible for you. Honestly that much coffee would be bad for you. At the end of the day, it still should be his choice though. If it's not endangering his coworkers the office should have no say in it.

Gam3kid I think the only reason I'm alive is due to being on a 4 monster java, 2 Rockstar, and 3 pots of coffee a day regimen. It confuses the hell outta my doc, due to a slightly elevated heart rate, still acceptable, and slightly lower than average blood pressure. And as I told him when he said I need to slacken off on the caffeine usage. I calmly said, hell that's the only reason my heart is still beating, and the only reason I'm not in jail. He chuckled and said it'll probably still be beating 100 years after I'm dead.
P.S. caffeine tolerance is a real thing. And I NEED it.
My reaction would have been similar to Ricky's except it would have been more like "If you think I'm in a pissy mood with my energy drinks. Just imagine what I'm like without that caffeine rush. Someone might get stabbed. Just saying."
I'm a welder/fabricator. I had a safety man tell me there was no more smoking on the job because it was a fire hazard. Before he could finish his rant the hood of his winter work coat was on fire from the guy cutting, dropping slag above him. Yeah we had a great laugh.

Studies have shown coffee doesn't dehydrate you like originally thought since it takes water to brew but I'm with Ricky on this
It takes water from your system to metabolize it though similar to alcohol in concept but significantly different process .
And coffee is a laxative. Getting diarrhea dehydrates you faster than anything else.

Look when they start caring about my long term health I'll start caring about my health. Follow the smart people on site, be a lazy ass SOB that gets all his work done. I have had my boss tell off another work crew for daring to say I was fucking around on my phone. (I was, but the tasks were finished soo...) actually said and I quote, "He is probably looking up a new way he to do this job that might be faster or cost us less."
Being lazy has gotten me so far and my body is still mostly intact, running around like a chicken with his head cut off. That was aweful and I barely got paid, now I get paid pretty okay and spend most of my day in the shade and do a minimal amount of work.
It's like when you become a free agent in hockey, everyone throws ungodly amounts of money at you.
Alright, I will no longer be bringing energy drink /cans/ to the job site. I acknowledge your ban, and will make sure that when I buy my energy drinks, that the /cans/ will not make it to work. I will instead be bringing a large, opaque beverage container, full of a "drink" that I will disclose to you as "soda", "seltzer" or "soft drink".

Our shop toilets are prone to plugging. When they do plug up they are very slow to calling a plumber. They have to cable it because of a bad bend....
So anyway the last time it plugged we were told we would just have to hold it. No trips next door to the convenience store either. So my response was to shyte/spray into a cheapo deapo white kitchen trash bag. I have no gaul bladder so you can imagine the pattern i left in that bag. I made sure to hold it up and explain to everyone what i just did in that bag....including the boss as i was walking it out to the dumpster.
Two days later the plumbers were tearing the floor out to fix the bend. I heard several people complained to HR about my brown splattered white trash bag incident.....💩💩💩💩💩💩😁👍

Just asking, I am assuming that they would pass out coffee and wings along with some bugger sugar to get more work done. Everyone I hope you realize that coffee breaks were invented to get more work done and actually it was ww1 the work day break started in the lining industry, the males went to work and the women couldn’t work all day and productivity was down. So the women asked for breaks to help them get through the workday. With that came coffee ect. Coffee breaks thank you women for not being as productive.

Had a boss that wanted to start doing UAs. His top tech told him he would loose a lot of people and him being one of them..... those UAs were never mentioned again.
When I was at the factory I saw guys smashing Red Bull and Monster back to back to back. Not to mention the caffeine pills. I’m best friends with a veteran who would sometimes take a caffeine pill with his Red Bull. And I was with everyone doing some of this too. But it was almost anything you could do to get through those work days because I know that in one day I had moved ten tons of glass containers in boxes on pallets with a hand jack in one day. So I had to book it that day. I have moved many times that in the years and you were not given leniency from company people.

I lost my daughter to energy drinks at the tinder age of 19, ITS NOT THE CAFFEINE, ITS THE POTASSIUM!
She was dieting and drinking energy drinks and and she got an overdose of potassium and her heart stopped and she had no oxygen for her brain for 6.5 minutes and the only thing left of her brain was the lower stem which controlled the heart and lungs!
She was in a coma for 8 weeks and had to have her braces removed so they could do an MRI and there was nothing left of her brain !
After 14 months and things continually getting worse and bad staphylococcal infection twice we just gave her pain medicine band let nature take it’s course!
I have heard of many kids dying from these things!
