- According to television and movies the apocalypse could be coming any day now. The Walking Dead, A Quiet Place, anything by Roland Emmerich and pretty much every single movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe detail what I’m sure are very realistic threats to society itself. So obviously we need a back up plan. It’s not good enough to just wander around and try to figure it out on the go like they do in most movies and tv shows. No, clearly we all need to invest in a doomsday bunker. Like picking a car or an apartment this can be pretty difficult considering the fact that there are just so many to choose from. Which amenities do you want? Do you want neighbors? Are you willing to pay to not have neighbors? Would you consider sleeping on a post apocalyptic futon? These are all very real questions you’d have to answer.
So let’s look at some of the best doomsday bunkers money can buy. Each and every one of these places has its own theme. For one, it’s all about presenting itself like a luxury hotel underground. Just pamper yourself through the chaos. Then there’s one that actually hired a psychologist to make sure that the place was as accommodating as humanly possible. Then there’s the one that baaaasically just the last man cave on Earth. Of course that’s still a lot better than being a front for a money laundering scheme.

Bunkers just delay the inevitable. You can't make your own air and water, which will be contaminated, but never mind that. People in bunkers will kill each other or themselves.
Sometimes it's better to delay the inevitable than give up at the first sight of conflict.
Btw not all pathogens are airborne and water purification isn't a new concept.
And usually survival bunkers are made away from civilisation in areas which no one would bother nuking(at least directly).

The rich will have the money to be prepared and will have guns and a security team to protect them. But the jealousy and envy will start to simmer within their luxury shelter and theyll end up killing each other.
Yeah, that's why the moment the doors shut, the rich aren't gonna survive long, cause either they only brought their close friends and family, thus they'd have to do everything themselves, or their "servants" are brought with them and said servants overthrow them after a very short period the moment they realize the "wealth" these individuals had is now worthless.

OK but if the apocalypse happens how do you get to your bunker fast when (communications ) streets, bridges, roads , (air traffic -airports), are out? Then what about when you have you and your family either at work, school out shopping etc how do you get to them and then to our bunker ? Come on make it make sense. But this is a very nice set up!

So instead of trying to survive with a group out in the open, you'd much rather put yourself into a lavish prison that quickly falls into disarray (since, ya know, all that lavish stuff you have is stuff you personally have to maintain or hope you thought ahead to bring people in who are willing to keep those things up and running) while having to survive on shitty food as the good food you brought goes bad or get's consumed fast all while only having 2-7 of the same people you can interact with. Oh, and let's not forget that there's no more internet, so that means your entertainment is either the stuff built into the bunker, or stuff you brought with you/put in prior along with no sunlight. Yeah, I'll take my chances out in the wild where if I die, I die, but also have a better chance of thriving in this new world as us survivors take control and become the new rulers.
