The best thing about this man is that he is not afraid to admit that he does mistakes and that he has flaws like we all do. This is what actually adds even more to the educational segment of his videos. And- they are cool. Keep up with the good work.

Great video! I'd like to add one more thing: Seeing a therapist. No joke- This single-handedly was the biggest factor in me overcoming(or rather working with) my social anxiety. Not only did I talk about things I'd never considered, but it also triggered a series of insights that lead to me becoming more confident in social situations. Fuck the stigma about seeking help. When it comes to your well-being, there's no investment that's too much.

Colin, How are you now? Doing public speaking courses help a lot for social anxiety. To feel better reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, in college, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

    0:42 Axiety voice inside head
2:37 Walking mediatation affirmations of handsome, courage, power, or thankfulnes, unique is the key for flavorful imagery and word
4:10 Refocus on music, drink, surroundings enviornment, people, instaneous thoughts and ask for advice
(UNRELATED 5:20) Make sure you get off at your destination if the fucking conductor catches your ass you can get a misdemanor and have to appeal in front of a judge. This happend to me and it fucking sucked having to pay for all the fees and bs stress that came with it. Hide out in the bathroom or something idk but fuck.

Love the meditation explanation. That's it! and the more you exercise, the better it gets and your brain becomes elastic. Best time to meditate is in the morning and before going to sleep. That helped me a bit with my attitude especially.

I also forgot to ask what your advice would be for new or returning gym goers. Being the gym with the grunters and the people that stare. You should totally make a vid about the anxiety getting into the gym. That's about a third to a fourth of the reason people stop going or quit going. #motivation #anxiety

I don't know if you're already a member of a gym, but I just joined Planet Fitness and like their concept of no critics/judgment-free zone. Plus they will sound a fire alarm if grunters arise or people dropping weights. Not to mention it's dirt cheap! Good luck!

Good video, and also VLOGGING helps folks get over social anxiety. I have a generalized anxiety disorder, and it centers around driving. I love meditation and I do use it as a religious tool. I am a practising Orthodox Christian, and I use the time to foam roll after my workouts to meditate & pray and roll. It works for me :)

What about when only people you dont want to see you are people from your area who have known you most of your life but you've lost yourself so much ur afraid and anxious about letting them see you including your closest ones over the years. Im so ashamed of myself that i dont want to face anybody who knows how well i used to be. My anxiety isnt as bad around people who dont know the old me. Yes i get nervous in public but not near as much. My anxiety is real i cant leave my bedroom because im afraid my sisters friends may come round while im in kitchen so when i do i have to rush and i cant bringg myself to leave house because im afraid ill see somebody who knows me n thats very common because i live in a counsel estate full of young people where almost everyone knows everyone. Please how could i overcome this i just want my life back, start working and get back in gym. Iv put on 4 stone in passs 2 years because of my anxiety i just want my old life back.

dude, you do not have social anxiety. I had been experiencing this problem up until this year maybe (socialanxietyinstitute.org/what-is-social-anxiety). What I did was starting to give 0 fucks about what people would think about me and put myself in as much as social events as I could: I started going to parties alone, hosting people on couchsurfing, trying to chat with random people I didn't know. I think I'm over that shit now.

I downloaded the headspace App, then read the terms and conditions. It is frighteningly invasive and full of obligations. I immediately uninstalled it. The younger generation have no appreciation for privacy, nor do many of the people who create these apps have any respect for your basic privacy. It is shocking how everything is legal if its stated in the "terms and conditions" Unfortunately most people do not take the time to read it. If you truly understood the power these apps have to mine every scrap of your dignity out of you., you would deny them their permissions. If you have ever seen the Star trek episode on the Borg , our world is heading in that direction, and we are letting it happen by allowing these shysters into our lives.
