    I have a 42" IDrive coming. Today is 05/24/24. Shippers say 06/01/24.
    I can't wait!
    I used to love mowing my grass. Then I De-Gloved my right foot. My 2-year-old 48" tractor's forward and reverse pedals are on the right. Making mowing simply Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I believe that with this new IDrive, I will love to mow the grass again.
    Thanks RYOBI...! In advance of using my new 42" IDrive mower.

    Glad they made a 30 inch size, as I want an electric mower to help me clean horse stalls by using to pull a manure cart into the barn (plus to carry shavings in cart from car out to the barn). The wider bigger mowers are great for faster mowing time, but they aren't as versatile for my needs. I'd like more ability to put on attachments or some storage. I bet many folks will discover these will make more useful than just mowing, but for moving around property like a mini golf cart function (particularly in off season). So make easy to remove the mower deck.

    I’m impressed with the RYOBI system.. looked at a Hustler battery powered mower. Batteries are bolted in and the unit has a max 90 min run time. So you run out of battery in the middle of a property then get to push the mower back to the trailer and then home to recharge. The dealer said it had an 8 hour charge time. With the RYOBI, pull out a battery, pop another one in and your back in the game. Not this year for me because I want to see one year reviews of this next year.

Hopefully they offer a discount or trade-in program to current customers. I definitely would purchase the new one with the lithium batteries if they offer a discount.

    As some of you may have noticed by now, Home Depot finally started allowing orders for the 80v mowers in the early morning (4-5 AM) on Sat. 6/18. However, this is after two $500 price increases, with delivery projected on August 8-12! So much for spring or even early summer! (Or a reasonable price…)

    • @MidniteSon
      @MidniteSon Před 2 lety

      The 30" model is not worth $5,000 + tax. I might be more interested in $3,500 range. Also, while I like the idea of the Joystick, I much rather have the 'Synchro-Steer' wheel technology that cub cadet has. That way I have direct control of the front wheels for superior traction and hill climbing, while still having all the maneuverability of a ZTM.

    • @bladesofglorylawncarellc559
      @bladesofglorylawncarellc559 Před 2 lety +1

      This was my question. I need to be able to charge extra batteries to be swapped out throughout the day if I expect to make it through an entire day of mowing. Especially since I will most certainly be running it at its max power setting. I’m sure the 4 acres run time on the 54” is not for the max power setting.

    My Ryobi RM480E has been a great, dependable lawn mower, until June 12th, 2021. when it just stopped moving forward or reverse. I purchased the extended warranty, so I called Asurion Home Depot and the company set up a pickup sure enough Ryobi service center picked it up. The service center sent out a repairman to check the mower before loading up on the truck, he looked it over and said well it doesn't move, so we need to take it into the shop, they loaded it, and about a week later called and said that mower was working and couldn't repeat the fault of not moving, so they brought the mower back. Asurion warranty found Ryobi service centers all over my area and had them pick up the mower and see if it could be repaired, in 9 months 5 additional service shops, but none were able to figure it out. The latest repair center spent 9 hours talking with Ryobi and receiving parts that Ryobi techs said would fit it, none of the parts fixed my mower. Ryobi even sent new batteries to see if that would do it, so as of yesterday the repairman has given up and said he was through working on it. Now I have a worthless Ryobi mower that no one can figure out why it's not moving. Here are a few of the things I have been told in my conversations with Ryobi and some service centers and even Home Depot, the mowers are not made by Ryobi but are made by ATI in China, and ATI has proprietary information they are not willing to share with Ryobi. Then I was told Walmart has the same mowers under the brand Hart, which is the same as the Ryobi models. I can not complain about Asurion or Ryobi's customer service, but I do blame the company that made this mower ATI.

I know people say they don’t have any issues and maybe I’m just unlucky, but I was so excited to put X-blades on my 52” Gravely Pro Stance last year until the belt kept flying off and eventually got shredded. It was really hard in the spindles. They said to start it at half throttle then slowly increase to full but that is what caused the belts to shake off. The only way is to start at full throttle get enough momentum so the belts don’t fly off with all that’s crew weight.

      @worm4254 Před 2 lety

      You don't want to do that with small batteries like these. You will literally kill the battery packs after a few charges. The more juice you force through, the more strain on the battery cells, which eventually makes them not hold charge anymore. Cars have coolant and ways to mitigate the heat build up of fast charging.
