Hey pastor john how do you deal with a father (my dad) who is not teaching me about God or righteousness? should I still obey him or what should I do? I'm 18 and somewhat sad. I'm looking for hope in Christ and meaning for my life. Please could anyone pray for me
Find a group of believers and fellowship/befriend/live life with them. If you can get into a group of mid 20s guys(or gals, if you're a woman.) and just live life with them, hang out, do bible studies, cook food, etc. They are old enough that they have experienced the transition you are in now but not so old that you can't relate to them. Make sure they have the same goals as you before you commit but then commit. fellowship with other believers is super important.
@@user-te3qx8wj6v I dont have many christian friends... and the friend I have had for a long time whom is athiest seems to be so overwhelmingly selfish I'd rather just be alone than around her ya know.... it's difficult... I wanted to be a good friend to her but shes passive aggressive and I'm not one to take abuses I'll straight out walk out ya know... and the Christians I know wouldn't accept me because I stand against their idol the Bible.... so I find friendships with people online and it's worked for me. I'm different. I give to the homeless, and would rather go minister to people on the street than sit on my butt in a comfy church... we gotta sacrifice our comfort and safety to serve God. Life is sometimes super easy and sometimes not so much. But what you did here... speaking truth to strangers about how you feel and what your going through is PERFECT. It shows you have truth and know how to speak out. Many people would suffer in silence. I'm not saying the bible isnt valuable for learning but many worship and live by it instead of living by the holy spirit. I've got a 17yr old and a 22 yr old.... I know you are way further ahead than most in the manner that you reach out. I'm proud of you for that. Keep your head up. Talk to people about God. If you feel urged to talk tona stranger DO IT. Obey God not your mind. Hugs!
My only leader is Christ. No flesh man or woman can be my authority no matter what ancient, mistranslated writings say. The holy spirit leads to all truth... within. Not without.
I promise you will pay the price if you willfully disobey authority. It doesn't matter what YOU believe, it only matters what God says. Remember what EVE did? Or Lot's wife? They disobeyed what God said.
I agree. Nowadays you hear about leaders/pastors abusing their position to commit sin. It’s safer and wiser to follow Christ only (even if that means you‘re led to obey what a specific leader has said).

The Bible in Hebrews 13:17 tells us to submit to our elders. They are the Shepards God has ordained to lead us. That's why they need to be faithful and if they are not no faithful, it's your duty as a Christian to correct them with scripture.@@justonetime6179

You will be okay... learn to support yourself. Make it your goal. Pray all day and be very humble in all things
