This was one of the best teams i ever saw play against us in person. Bilbao were just fantastic this night.
I actually visited Bilbao this summer and saw a game at San Mames, what an experience, the best city I’ve ever visited, it is such a beautiful place

@@sidneyOT95That' very kind of you, Sid. You have a nice and superinteresting city too, btw.
We , the basque people, mostly in Bilbao, do have a special connection with the people in the british isles. I think that we share some cultural values.
Glad to know that you had a great time between us.

well, as someone who used to watch EVERY Milan, Bayern, Chelsea, Juve and Man Utd match during those years I swear that I can't remember this match for the life of me. Like, total blackout, I don't remember even having ever been played... pretty odd!
Anyway, llorente is the guy that we know from Juve and Spurs, but I wonder whether ander herrera and javi martinez are the guys that later on moved to Man Utd and Bayern, respectively. Could these really be them?? Because if they are, then I'm not surprised that Bilbao have defeated Man Utd in this game... Oh, and also Bielsa, and Muniain, those 2 helped, as well... And speaking of Muniain, I wonder what has happened to that dude, I remember hearing his name a lot during those years, he was supposed to be some future legend of the club or something, but I've not heard anything about him shortly after this match....

Llorente practically disappeared after he went to juve from athletic. He should have stayed. He would have been a legend and one of the best strikers in la Liga

Muniain was really punished by injuries. However, he still became a great footballer, but more of a CM than he was supposed to be. He should have been called up for the NT several times, but in Spain it's not easy if you don't play for Barça/Real Madrid.
In summary, still a great footballer -with not much media support- who could have been way better had he not been injured so frequently.

@@egoiorobio5988 definitely a great footballer, but also definitely one who had fallen into obscurity as many other one season wonders but with great potential (arshavin, chamakh, mido, and so on...)
