I wish they had wrapped 'V' up after the Final Battle in 1984 when the visitors were defeated and Martin (the 5th columnist) took Mike, Julie and the rest 'home'. That was the perfect ending to a truly fantastic two part series that was a memorable part of my early teens and high school years.

I loved watching this as a child. It was shown in the UK at the time of the 1984 Olympics. Only the BBC were showing the Olympics and ITV put V on at the same time. V was so popular they won the ratings war against the BBC easily. In V Julie was a much more likeable character than Ham. She was an ethical human being that cared for others even if she was emotionally vulnerable at times. Ham had none of those vulnerabilities or ethics but he had military experience no one else had. The alliance between Tyler and Mike and Julie was an uneasy one. Sometimes in war the relationships between allies can be strained as was the case here.

kevin gallagher as the series progressed the characters of Julie Ham and Mike were slowly getting along with each other, even though the relationship between was strained at times war can do that to a person.

@@Squab1972 When you looked into this a bit more deeply Tyler's fears about Julie were unjustified. Although she doubted herself at times no real damage was done. In the sequel to this Ham Tyler was himself captured and went through the same emotional torture Julie did. She then gave him the sort of emotional support that Tyler did not give her here. Tyler's mind was messed up and the visitors had him thinking that Donovan sent his wife and his daughter to their deaths. Tyler then shot Kyle's father as a mistake because of this. Tyler in fact was far less reliable after torture than what Julie was despite what he said here.

@@wonjubhoy Charles was manipulative and tried his best to brainwash Ham Tyler as a form of propaganda Charles wanted Ham Tyler to assassinate Mike Donovan live on TV and end the resistance. Instead Tyler shot Nathan Bates by mistake.

It’s funny how I remember this scene, I always thought Ham walked in with a crew but it was just the one guy, I thought when Ham said she thinks like a lizard the whole room jumped at each other but it was just Marc Singer, it’s funny how your memory works
