2K15 until 2k17 was essentially just roster updates by that time on 360/PS3 hardware. All their resources went towards the new gen

You actually can attack as a referee in 2k24 if you press select it puts you in superstar mode and allows you to act like a normal wrestler
I hated that I got kicked out as ref because I wasn't doing a 10 count when both guys were outside the ring. I was letting them fight! No one likes count outs! So glad I can turn off that meter now.
The ref meter should be like 2k14 it's very strict

I remember in WWE 13, if John lauranaitis was in the match, was the manager, or guest ref, if the guest ref was kicked out the ref would appear by himself too.

Isn't there an option in 2K24 where you set it so you don't get kicked out?
@@ultraexcalibur1728 Yep. If you turn off the ref meter, you wouldn't be kicked out/replaced.

This was the worst feature ever added to a WWE game. Like why would anyone ever want to play as the ref if they didn’t get to just beat up people whenever they want and then DQ them or just say “I’m not counting for you because you hit me!” If they tried to return the favor?
This is one of the most requested features fans wanted to return
Took them 7 years to bring back a feature that was never disliked 2k are assholes honestly these games seriously need competitors. This monopoly shit is ridiculous and really should be illegal.
