  • Today we are going to test RC range in P - Position mode. Last test was in sport mode, i was able to get up to 6.7km after RC signal get too week. This time in P mode i was able to reach maximum distance of 8km (limited by DJI Go app) !!! This is in completely stock mode, no tricks, just a good visibility.
    Why i was able to fly to 8km in P mode instead of 6.7km in S mode before i loose signal in same space i don't know, maybe it was the luck, but i think i could go 10km since i still have 3 bars left.
    DJI, you did a good job with your OcuSync technology, 10km of range is very good with simple antennas !! very impressed :)

    • @reconnaissancesquadron222
      @reconnaissancesquadron222 Před 5 lety +1

      Anafi and Mavic Pro are both good. If range really matters go for the Mavic Pro, it is unbeatable in its price class for range. If portability and being able to fly anywhere matters go for the Anafi. Or get both, I did.
      I can do a manual point of interest spiral around a building two miles away, not just fly there and get home again but have reasonable levels of fine control to shoot video.
      Absolute range isn't really important, what matters is how far away you can make your drone do what you want. With the Mavic Pro I can fly around a building a mile away, head off to another one two miles away, circle around that one controlling gimbal and zoom and then take in a third target as well all on the one battery. 22 minutes of flight and over 9,400 metres travelled pointing at pretty stuff, not just flying in a boring straight line.

    • @hirschheisstdermann
      @hirschheisstdermann Před 5 lety +1

      Mavic Air is shit, because it doesn't use Ocusync, but WIFI as RC-connection. If you get 500m out of the Air, you are lucky. In a city, or behind tree-lines, connection can drop after 150m already. Get the Mavic Pro or Mavic Pro 2 (or Zoom). Every model with Ocusync as RC-connection will mange holding connection over kilometers.

    • @reconnaissancesquadron222
      @reconnaissancesquadron222 Před 5 lety +1

      @@hirschheisstdermann It's not shit, it's just a pedestrian drone good for selfies and flying around quite close. If that's what you want to do it's a great drone. But if you want to fly and fly and fly and fly and explore and then fly some more you're much better off with a Mavic Pro or Mavic 2.
      If you KNOW you will never fly it beyond line-of-sight and the specially marked out safe perimeter in your local park where you stand in your Boy Scout uniform with your fluorescent hi-vis tabard and you're a narcissist rather than an explorer the Air is a good choice. If you love to fly far as free as a bird then no WiFi drone will ever really satisfy you. You need something with serious range. And on top of that, the Air is gay.

    • @hirschheisstdermann
      @hirschheisstdermann Před 5 lety

      @@Koelkop Others will say, the Air is just a crappy toy that can't withstand wind, will lose connection after a couple of hundred meters, and if you adjust the Mavic Pro's camera right, you'll get an image as good as the one oft the Air. Only real advantage the Air has, is it's tiny form-factor and weight. But that's also a disadvantage, when it comes to windy conditions.
