How to Make Fake Rocks (Part 1)

Want to know how to make fake rocks out of foam? We make A LOT of rocks for our escape rooms and this is our favorite method. Make sure to watch part two to see how we cover the foam in concrete for realistic rocks.

Tools:
- Insulation foam (we had to glue a few together with spray foam because we didn't have really thick ones)
- Foam Hot Knife
- Heat Gun
- Respirator Mask
Make sure you wear protective gear and work outside! You don't want to be breathing in these fumes when you make rocks. Also, watch out for hot styrofoam - it can drip from the knife and burn.

Very cool! I had great success, molding real objects using silicone rubber, then casting them with spray foam. The details come out very good. I made a whole series on this for making tree bark. Check out if you want!
