      Cheap Lazy Vegan is the smell from inside the rice cooker noticeable outside the rice cooker? will I smell the food baking like in an oven or do I need to put a timer and stand by? will it smell up the house?
      same question for an instant pot, and for an air fryer - are there smells from inside to the outside, similar to an oven, more obvious smell, no real smell?
      in order of helpfulness and less smell, what would be your order of purchasing these items? I've been mulling them over for a while and would like to start with one or two.
      I'll be in s hotel for a few months, so that's a factor - safety, quick, less smell etc.
      thank you!

    People always think that I make suuuuuuuper complicated lunch when I bring it with me. But I actually make food similiar to you, it just looks complicated because I throw a lot of different things in my food. Last time it was just a quinoa salad with chickpeas, tofu, kale, tomatoes, bellpepper and strawberrys (It looked super fancy, haha!)
    Edit: Coriander all the way, girl!!!!!

      did you cook only the quinoa or...?

    • @EMunaBee
      @EMunaBee Před 6 lety +3

      Enzera Bowenzu probably cooked. perhaps cooked a bunch in advance...the rest of the meal you throw on, in advance for a few days, the night before, or earlier that day. you can add the same, similar, or different components to the meal once you have a bunch of quinoa cooked once, which is especially easier and less time consuming than cooking the amount for one meal. when you cook up a bit more quinoa, pasta, rice, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes etc. each time you cook, you've got good foundations for meals and snacks. Then get as creative or not creative as you want. for example, I'll cook enough rice for three days and then either put some in my quick cooking vegan chili, or add some vegetables for a cold rice salad similar to a picnic pasta salad, or have a burrito bowl, or put some in a burrito, or add some to soup, or have it in a bowl with cooked greens, sweet potato, squash, or cooked carrots, maybe a tehini dressing, maybe sesame seeds or hemp seeds...that's just rice. with sweet potatoes (or any potato), cook a bunch at once, have them for the week - plain, heated and mashed with toppings, in a salad of any kind, blended into a quick soup, fixed into chili, topped with chili, stuffed with chili, turned into oven fries with any seasoning, even put on a plate with hummus avocado, and crackers for a quick meal/snack, or add beans and a quick tomato cucumber salad on the side...having the basics cooked is so helpful...

    • @Mojichan13
      @Mojichan13 Před 6 lety +1

      Yes! Just cook the basic and add stuff. I don't mind eating a cold meal, and if I do something like quinoa salad with fresh veggies I don't need to heat it anyway.

    Awesome! Will definitely try this out! I'd love to see more recipes for rice cookers. I don't have an instant pot just a rice cooker, and I would really like some more ideas on how to use it apart from just cooking the rice regularly. My biggest adventures with the rice cooker so far has been adding coconut milk or a bouillon cube.

      Emuna Bee the rice cooker has its own timer. You just have to put the right amount of water in it and push a button. It will stop once cooked and keep on the keep warm setting until you switch it off. The rice cooker will not create strong smell like an oven would. I actually like the smell of rice cooking 😂😊

      Glass will dull your blade faster!! The cutting board in the video looks wooden--if so, have you been seasoning it with oil after you wash & dry it?? If not, that may help prevent the cracking. :)

      I am cheap too, which is why I kept the turntable out of my microwave when it stopped working. I use that as my cutting board.

      Jennifer Somebody If you place a hand towel underneath your board. It will help keep it still.

    I smear olive oil on the wooden cutting board before using it for the first time. It makes it a bit more resistant to water.
