I saw Ingo and I was like "wait a minute, isn't he one of the subway guys? This must be his ancestor." And then nope, he is very much the Subway Boss Ingo.
Man that’s actually sad that a lot of people didn’t recognize him, it was so hype to see first: a guy that looks like ingo’s an ester, but really exact, to second: oh my god that’s actually him
i played through the game with my brother, and i was like "wow the twins ancestor looks exactly like ingo. how funny would it be if it wasnt an ancestor and was just him lmao" but then it wasnt funny. and now im really sad. arceus bring him back to unova :(
I didn’t know about Ingo at first but then I was like, “hey, I like this dude’s design” and then I searched him up and now here I am, part of the Submas fandom. Also in love with Emmet as well as Ingo now.
@@PichuElric Actually, the Submas twins always had a sizeable fanbase in Japan from what I've heard. It's just now more fans outside of Japan have been pulled along for the ride with PLA making people remember they exist.
I also went from not knowing who Ingo is to becoming a Submas fan. I actually went back and did the Battle Subway to fight them and redownloaded Pokemon Masters because of them. They've been my new favorite Pokemon characters for almost a month now.
I love this art style so much. I also love that Zorua transformed into an Emmet with torn clothes like Ingo as if she just told it to “Transform into this guy, but with white clothes.”
Akari: Hey, Arceus, you stole this guy from his original timeline, and his twin is probably very sad about that, can you please fix that. Arceus: Sure. Akari: …. Arceus: Emmet is now dead and no longer misses his twin.
I immediately recognised him, because for some reason gen5 had a great popularity in France, and I honestly was amazed at how many people didn't recognise him. he and his brother are so recognisable
I actually recognized Ingo because I've played all of the mainline games (so I played Black and White 2 - I honestly liked the games and the story despite what people say) and I did some runs in the Battle Subway. Although I won't deny I was surprised how popular the twins actually were in Japan.
Don't worry, Emmet's not actually dead in the last frame. But...he might as well be from loneliness. :( Someone please help both of them, it's depressing to watch this train wreck play out.
My head cannon is that after Ingo went missing he first went on continuing the job solo trying not to go insane before finally cracking and ending up depressed as a drunk yard
I never finished playing through Black, but my brother did. When I met Ingo in PLA, I thought he rang a bell but I just couldn't place it. The moment I realized, it hit me like a freight train.
Now, ponder this for a moment. Which would be sadder--Emmet having to face a world where his brother is missing...or Ingo being warped back the moment he left, only now he's decades older, barely speaks English any more, and has a lifetime of experience that nobody around him can relate to any more, gone in an instant?
Now imagine Emmet trying to help Ingo readjust anyway because he loves his brother very much and they're inseparable even though one doesn't remember the other very well IM NOT SOBBING YOU'RE SOBBING
Considering how quickly the mc levels up in pla, it's possible that Ingo has only been gone for a few years or so (basing this on how the buttons on his jacket have begun to tarnish), which is still upsetting but it's better than being gone for decades
I knew Ingo not just from the games but from the anime as well. I saw the two brothers and they became unforgettable to me because of their apparel and their gestures. So when I saw him in Legends Arceus I was like “Whoa Ingo? Why are you here?”
The fact that Ingo is there probably means that God recognized Ingo as incredible and originally chose him to save the world, which is incredible to me
another theory is that he might not have gotten dropped from the space-time rift but from an ultra wormhole like anabelle and looker, which explains memory loss.
@@pg13snipez in the Oras games. I believe he’s actually the first faller. Though due to how many games he appears in, it makes sense to forget he was a faller at one point especially since Anabel and Ingo had theirs as more of a main focus
I wish we get the truth someday. I'm more of a "he was choosen by Arceus" theory believer because of that one hisuian zorua trailer but both scenarios make sense and are equally sad.
To be fair, even if you played gen 5 I don't think they ever appeared outside of the Battle Subway so it's not a guarantee that playing those games means you'll know who he is since you also have to have had an interest in the battle subway.
I LOVE this. Emmet and Ingo were honestly my favorite characters along with Cheren in Gen 5. It was a real shock to me when I realized basically nobody other than me remembered Ingo from BW and BW2. But then again, when he first showed up at the players door and said Kamado wanted to see them, I was kind of mashing A to skip dialog and didn't really recognize him then either. It wasn't until I got a better look at him at the training grounds when Irida was about to introduce him that I was like, "Wait, hold up, is that INGO?!" He IMMEDIATELY became all I cared about in PLA, and I am tormented by the fact that we don't get more on him and why he is here and if Emmet is okay and all that. There had BETTER be some DLC coming to fix this.
@@Jessica_Schweser Understandable. If you only played BW and not BW2 then they were an optional thing that a player may never see. And even in BW2 they were only there for a minute when forcefully introduced to you, going back to learn more about them and battle them was optional after that first fight with them. Edit:Also, very glad you love them now. If you play the phone game Pokémon Masters EX they are both available for summon right now. So I highly recommend getting on there. They are both great Sync pairs. Ingo is a tank and Emmet is a freaking killer. I have never even been a big fan of Pokémon for its battling, but I enjoy playing this just for them.
I recognized Ingo right away from Unova, although I never played the battle subway enough to fight the twins. They were just an iconic part of Unova's amazing roster of characters that kinda went underutilized (like every region), and i was instantly sad for Ingo and Emmet because they got dealt an even worse hand than Looker with ORAS and USUM, with one being sent back to ancient times with no memory AND separated from his twin that he did everything with, and the twin being separated from his brother with no clue what happened to him or where he is. The devastation and loss each must be facing is horrible, and it makes me so sad.
I just started playing Pokemon Masters, I got Ingo and realized that Emmet was reran only one month ago, and he's not in the standard 5-star pool. I accidentally separated them again
Ive been a fan of the subway masters since gen5's release and it absolutely thrilled me to see that even after a decade, they are still loved and not forgotten.
Honestly I'm hoping that they make a Black & White 3 with a continuation on this plotline. I mean Gen 5 is the only gen to have a remake/advanced version of the game be a sequel in the same generation. And it is the next remake in line. So I can see it being covered in either another Legends game, or the gen 5 remakes (whenever/if ever those happen). I doubt they'll just leave us hanging on this.... ...right?
Have we considered Unlocking Black and white 2 remakes after beating the champion in potential black and white remakes (Note: this would mean you would need to beat the elite four twice)
@@jalencurtis7222 Yeah they're pretty much a semi Gold and Crystal where it had a slight timeskip and they were actually intended to be, seeing as the player character from BW1 was to be fought in pwt or memory link with your old team and battle them.

I didn't remember him from Gen 5 but from when he (and Emmet) appeared in Pokemon Masters Ex like 8 months ago? One thing I always try to remember is each Pokémon game is in essence it's own universe, so there are likely just as as many universes where Ingo fell into the past as there are ones where he did not. One multiverse theory suggests anything and everything can happen and whatever does happen, happens in an infinite number of universes.
"arceus, I get im here to do your bidding and all, but why did you bring a subway máster into a time without subways, plus he lost his memory, whats the point?"

I didn’t realize BECAUSE MY LITTLE SISTER WAS SUCH A SIMP FOR N that she refused to let me play Pokémon black and white. It was the one Pokémon game I didn’t play. Now I know the truth. Now I know pain
I audibily went "no way" when I saw him in LA and the fact that almost no one was talking about it for like weeks baffled me. This video perfectly encapsulates all the emotions
i know you mean LA as in Legends Arceus but all i can imagine is someone going to Los Angeles and ingo is just. there. wandering around the streets totally confused
I'm quite surprised how many fans didn't recognize him -- my first ever console Pokemon game was Brilliant Diamond on the Switch, then Let's Go Eevee, and my third game of the series ever was Arceus. The last time I remember being involved in the anime or cards was when the First Movie came out; I hadn't really been active in the fandom ever and my interest was base-level since I was about 10. I never thought I'd like a Pokemon game and I didn't get the hype until I inherited the Switch from a friend and ended up checking it out (I'm hooked now). But for some reason? Maybe because his character design archetype is one of my favourites? I always remembered Ingo. Actually, while playing Brilliant Diamond, I wished he would show up (cause I was still learning about how each game focuses on a different region etc etc) so when it happened in Arceus I was like "oh no! I cursed you! I'm sorry! But yay, you're here! But oh no!" And when he opened up about his amnesia I might have shed a tear or two.
Forget sending me back home. PLEASE bring him back with his brother! I was so shocked to see him in the game. I honestly thought we are gonna have a side mission to help him. Gamefreak do not forget about him!

I didn't recognize his design at first so I was like ":0 BLIND POLICE OFFICER CHARACTER YES??" And then I found out his name and my serotonin shot THROUGH the ROOF
Seeing the influx of people getting into the Subway twins is telling me things about my initial Subway Master fever from back in 2011 that I'm not sure I like🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
Back then when I was little, I had a hard time fighting the subway masters. I real hated Ingo's fight tho and he'd beat me everytime. I was like "Let me through subway grandpa, I am not trying to fight anymore my god!" And then return to playing crafting mama. Now I'm playing Arceus, and the space time rift farts him into the game. It just *farts* the bitterness of the fight back. But now I beat him without help. And I feel old like this guy, and I feel bad for him as well. He's just standing there staring at me like "who do you want me to conduct you here to fight?" Not "All aboard! We're on the road to victory!" And that hits hard man. That's just sad. Now he's there to haunt me and poor guy lost his brother 😔🤚
I heard there was a character from a previous game in Arceus so I looked him up, saw he had a twin left behind, and it was all over for me man. Even if I had played gen5 when it first came out I never would have seen them since I never did much with the battle towers. Very glad I learned about them though because that was the final push I needed to go back and play gen 5!
I instantly knew it was Ingo. I remember flat out saying when ingo first walked by on-screen "It's the train guy. Why is he here?" And now I am even more depressed since I know why and the ramifications of it.
I legitimately freaked out when I saw him because I just loved the Battle Subway. Mostly because I like trains, but also because their themes rock. At first I thought he was just an ancestor, but once it became clear that wasn’t the case it got super depressing. He was ripped away from his brother and Pokémon out of nowhere to watch over a special Sneasler. That walk through the cave just…broke my heart.
I wasn't the biggest fan of black and white, but I read a webcomic called black adventures or something like that before I played white, and I remember their portrayal of ingo and emmet really well and liked them a lot. I was pretty sad beating arceus to see ingo still trapped in the past with no reason to really be there to begin with. The player makes sense enough given that they've already proven themselves a hero in the present time, but why did ingo come too? He takes on the role of sneaslers warden, but surely there was another pearl clan member meant for that role before his arrival. He's never used the sneasel line before and never really had anything to do with sinnoh either, it's such a random choice
I'm weird, because I recognized Ingo almost immediately, But never thought once about how depressing it must've been for Emmet until I watched this. Now I'm moderately sad.
I played legends arceus unspoiled and I'm glad to say that when saw ingo I knew I recognized him. I looked him up to make sure I wasn't crazy and sure enough I wasn't crazy for once
Unova is my favorite region and black and white is my favorite game. Seeing Clay's ancestor and Ingo made me scream out of joy that Unova was getting fan service
Bring the fragment over to Ingo expecting Almighty Arceus to yeet Ingo's Isekai'd ass Back to the Future Doctor Who style, only to realize that even as a fragment of an almighty creator, Arceus cant remedy poor Ingo's situation.
Honestly I did. I actually made it to them once as a kid on the battle subway and my thought was how was Ingo still alive in gen 5 then I learned he was brought to the past
My reaction to seeing Ingo was literally, “Is that *I N G O ??!!?!!!!!!!??????”* Got told off for yelling but it was worth it. Though it’s funny, before the yelling I assumed he was like, a ghost type trainer or something. And then he got closer.
I love the fan animations and comics of sad Emmet desperately looking for his brother while Ingo is still trying to remember who he is or where he’s from
I feel like sending a character to the past had way more potential. Imagine it was actually Lysandre who was sent back, after the events of X/Y, and he uses this as an opportunity to repent, but eventually he meets a Floette, and oh boy, Lysandre is actually AZ!
i didn't play gen 5, my first exposure into really getting into Pokemon was the gen 6 anime, and even then I didn't have any of the games, only getting some resold versions of heartgold and pearl (and Pokemon go as well). When I played legends, I found ingo really cool, and was really wrapped up in fan comics about the two being separated, so now I'm going to see if I can borrow a friend's copy of black so I can meet both of the subway bosses, together!!

I saw Ingo and I was like "wait a minute, isn't he one of the subway guys? This must be his ancestor."
And then nope, he is very much the Subway Boss Ingo.
Yeah me too, and then I saw the name Ingo. Then I was sad.
I really love the idea of the protagonist literally fan-girling over a person who doesn’t even know who he is. :’)
hhmmm Sounds Familiar !!
My homie she's from the future
when i saw ingo i just thought "WHAT THE FUCK ARCEUS, PUT THE POOR CONDUCTOR BACK"
"PUT THAT THING RIGHT BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM, OR SO HELP ME--"

(I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. X'D)
Man that’s actually sad that a lot of people didn’t recognize him, it was so hype to see first: a guy that looks like ingo’s an ester, but really exact, to second: oh my god that’s actually him
i played through the game with my brother, and i was like "wow the twins ancestor looks exactly like ingo. how funny would it be if it wasnt an ancestor and was just him lmao" but then it wasnt funny. and now im really sad. arceus bring him back to unova :(
Sadly I never played the game he's from so I had no idea who he was at first other than he doesn't belong in this time period like the player.
Same. I had only watched the Unova anime and missed the episode that he appeared in. But I'm glad that I found out who he was .
I didn’t know about Ingo at first but then I was like, “hey, I like this dude’s design” and then I searched him up and now here I am, part of the Submas fandom. Also in love with Emmet as well as Ingo now.
I'm still in shock the games have something this dark in it AND that the funny train men have an entire FANDOM now
@@PichuElric Actually, the Submas twins always had a sizeable fanbase in Japan from what I've heard.
0:21 that face hides unimaginable anguish
I remember actually screaming "ITS THE TRAIN DUDE" when I saw him. I never even played the Battle Subway.
Akari: Hey, Arceus, you stole this guy from his original timeline, and his twin is probably very sad about that, can you please fix that.
Arceus: Sure.
Akari: ….
Arceus: Emmet is now dead and no longer misses his twin.
Damn, if I had a nickel for everytime someone wants Emmet dead I would have two nickels, it ain't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.
I hope emmets in the next generation

Love the animation! And I was confused why so many people in the west didn’t recognize ingooo. I’ll go back crying now
The Subway Masters are much less popular in the west than they are in the east
Or, at least, they *were*, but now they’ve gotten proper attention
i think quite a few people recognized him, but so many people are new to the franchise since gen 5 sold the least (SOMEHOW??)
I recognized him the INSTANT he appeared and understood what him being there implied! Then my skin went pale!
Don't worry, Emmet's not actually dead in the last frame. But...he might as well be from loneliness. :(
Someone please help both of them, it's depressing to watch this train wreck play out.
Now to see how many people get the pun. *plus, take my like and go.*

I never finished playing through Black, but my brother did. When I met Ingo in PLA, I thought he rang a bell but I just couldn't place it. The moment I realized, it hit me like a freight train.

It was at this moment, he knew he*newOOOOMMMM*
Now, ponder this for a moment. Which would be sadder--Emmet having to face a world where his brother is missing...or Ingo being warped back the moment he left, only now he's decades older, barely speaks English any more, and has a lifetime of experience that nobody around him can relate to any more, gone in an instant?
Now imagine Emmet trying to help Ingo readjust anyway because he loves his brother very much and they're inseparable even though one doesn't remember the other very well
IM NOT SOBBING YOU'RE SOBBING
And don't forget both of ingo's pokemon teams interacting
If he manages to get them across

@@bewill5121 True
Considering how quickly the mc levels up in pla, it's possible that Ingo has only been gone for a few years or so (basing this on how the buttons on his jacket have begun to tarnish), which is still upsetting but it's better than being gone for decades
I knew Ingo not just from the games but from the anime as well. I saw the two brothers and they became unforgettable to me because of their apparel and their gestures. So when I saw him in Legends Arceus I was like “Whoa Ingo? Why are you here?”
Just that look on Arceus's face. He did not plan this "Um...oops."
I’m pretty sure [spoiler redacted] was to blame for that and arceus didn’t even know
The fact that Ingo is there probably means that God recognized Ingo as incredible and originally chose him to save the world, which is incredible to me
But unfortunately he lost his memory along the way
another theory is that he might not have gotten dropped from the space-time rift but from an ultra wormhole like anabelle and looker, which explains memory loss.
@@xander2175 looker got warped?
WAIT
In black in white 2 they're a mandatory fight with Bianca at the town, so I remember him.
Yup, they appear like, 20 seconds if you don't do the Subway battles.
Well they do appear in pokemon master too!
Every game I've played has had at least one character I've became obsessed with and I try to find out everything about them. Ingo is it in this game
I remembered him cus of the manga
@@-w-8429 The Manga more makes me think of Emmet than Ingo, but I can see how it would work for you.
I didn't even know the Subway Bosses existed till I played the game last month and now they're my favorite Pokemon characters
Seeing what happened to Ingo broke my heart a little cuz he’s genuinely one of my favorite characters. I just want to see him and Emmett back together
If it wasn’t for Pokémon masters, I honestly would have ended up forgetting about the subway bosses, but that game reminded me that they existed.
@@nerosoul2506 I like the way you think
Pokemon ultra sun and moon were like black 2 and white 2 for Pokemon sun and moon, so gen 5 isn't the only one.

This is very happy music for one of the more depressing elements of arceus. I hope Ingo finds his way home.

My initial reaction: ‘‘Oh, so this must be Ingo's ancestor.’’
Later: ‘‘He IS Ingo?!’’
I literally rewatched most of the B&W anime a few months before arceus came out, and then they do this. That *hurt.*
it would be interesting if by datamining the game they found that emmet is in the game (this is highly unlikely though)
Let's pray for a dlc🙏
Emmet rips a hole in space-time to find his brother
Who knows? We could get another "L is Real 2401" situation like with Mario 64.
(To provide some context, some SM64 source code was leaked and dataminers found a character model of Luigi in it, on July 25, 2021.)
I didn't remember him from Gen 5 but from when he (and Emmet) appeared in Pokemon Masters Ex like 8 months ago? Comparing Ingo from Masters Ex with Ingo from Legends is lowkey depressing xD (he also constantly talks about his brother like come on, man! thats just sad now XD) Gamefreak, put him back where he came from or so help me
Love the animation, all aboard the angst train choo choo!!
One thing I always try to remember is each Pokémon game is in essence it's own universe, so there are likely just as as many universes where Ingo fell into the past as there are ones where he did not. One multiverse theory suggests anything and everything can happen and whatever does happen, happens in an infinite number of universes.
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW EVERY SECOND OF IT FELT
I was originally like: Oh Ingo and Emmets ancestor?
"OH FUCK ITS ACTUALLY INGO!?" the moment I saw his name plate
I didn't recognize him right away when I first met him in Legends, but once I saw him pose, I immediately went "hold up.."
Yeah it's depressing seeing Ingo stuck in Hisui
"arceus, I get im here to do your bidding and all, but why did you bring a subway máster into a time without subways, plus he lost his memory, whats the point?"
I haven't played Pokemon in ages and all I thought was "this guy's outfit reminds me of Raidiu Kuzanoha". That, and I thought he was an old man
He may *be* an old man by now. We don't know how long he's been in Hisui.
I will not lie I lost my s*** when I saw ingo because I saw them in gen-5 and I tried so hard to beat the subway but I could never get to them but I loved them. even when watching the anime I loved them.

I audibily went "no way" when I saw him in LA and the fact that almost no one was talking about it for like weeks baffled me. This video perfectly encapsulates all the emotions

@@altf4undo01 from what I've heard in pop-culture, ingo walking around in confusion wouldn't be much different from the others in LA
This is why I started reading Pokémon fanfiction - I like to see them reunite again, something we didn't see in the game.
0:17 yes they can, we see a zorua disguised as a munchlax and a zoroark disguised as Mai. We never see the transformation taking place, but they do indeed still possess illusion powers
But as a human on command was what I was talking about
I have a history with the old Submas fandom some 10 years ago, was only natural since I loved gen 5 and wanted to be a train conductor myself haha. SO, yeah, I flipped my lid when I saw Ingo. Anyway, yes, can confirm, gen 5 is great.
I didn't recognize his design at first so I was like ":0 BLIND POLICE OFFICER CHARACTER YES??"
And then I found out his name and my serotonin shot THROUGH the ROOF
Gen 5 is the ever first Pokémon game I ever played and got me into Pokémon to this day, and I agree. It’s awesome
edit: reunite the twins!
Great animation! Finding out Ingo was in the game reignited my love for gen 5

Omg emmet doing the family guy death pose is sooo funny!!
Honestly I did. I actually made it to them once as a kid on the battle subway and my thought was how was Ingo still alive in gen 5 then I learned he was brought to the past
My reaction to seeing Ingo was literally, “Is that *I N G O ??!!?!!!!!!!??????”*
Got told off for yelling but it was worth it.
The fact he hasnt gotten any closer yet is actually killing me. Please, Gamefreak.. fix this 😭
