34/40, thanks a really good quiz. Geography is a great subject where you learn such interesting facts about the world, please do another some time 👍
Good score!
Thanks Tim. There's much more trivia quizzes in the channel ranging from Geography, World History, and specific countries. Check it out when you got time!
Correction: The Vatican City DOES have a capital, it's capital is Vatican City. It may sound confusing but since Vatican City is a country countaining only 1 city, they had to put the government inside that city. So far Switzerland and Nauru are the only countries without an official capital
Good to know. Thanks for the clarification. Will look into it.
Switzerland =Bern, Nauru=Yaren
also south africa has a tribunal government split between johannesburg, pretoria, and cape town
@@umwhat2024 *Bloemfontein, Pretoria, and Cape Town. It's a rather common misconception that Johannesburg is one of South Africa's capitals.

30 out of 40. Great quiz and I liked how there was a good mix of easy and hard questions.
Good job Pat! Glad you found it engaging!
The number of continents depends on your definition of a continent and where you were educated. Most South Americans regard North and South America as one continent. Russians are taught that Europe and Asia are one continent. Jay Foreman's video discusses this in depth. Also, isn't it the "Southern Ocean" rather than the "Antarctic Ocean"?
Thanks for the clarifications. I didn't think about other education systems' classifications of continents. Back in my time it was still the Antarctic Ocean :) But yes now it is more commonly known as the Southern Ocean.
Which isn't even a separate ocean.
Europe and Asia are one continent by definition.
Good quiz.
Did not do well, learned a lot
Good to hear you learned a lot Catamongthepigeons! That's what counts!
35/40 thanks for the quiz 👍👍😁
Well done! Thanks for playing
32.39. Great quiz!
#30 Regina is also the Latin word for Queen.
Mariana Trench is not 200 km deep. It’s 10,920 Metres deep, so almost 11 km. A little off there ;)
Good catch Mookie. Will create a correction card.
Correction::
Canada Capital is Ottawa not Regina
The question was not written properly. Meant to ask what the capital of Saskatchewan was. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thank you for a great quiz! I got 34/40, but I might have got 2 more if they were asked in my native language because some terminology can be a bit tricky for a non native english speaker! 😃
Good job! Thanks for playing :)

Great quiz. I really enjoyed it. 90%correct.
Glad you liked this one as well Andrew!
Never heard of the Antarctic ocean. I have heard of the Southern ocean
It used to be known solely as Antarctic Ocean but recently Southern Ocean is the more accepted name.
Most of 'em
Thanks for playing!
Background sound in amezing on 1.5x
When did the Antarctic ocean become one of the main oceans ??
Antarctic Ocean is the old name for Southern Ocean. I should have used the latter as it is the currently widely used name.
Q.14 is way off. The Mariana trench is 7 miles deep not 124. Great quiz all the same, keep them coming.
Yea my bad on that one. Glad you found it fun overall!
Agree. BTW the Qn asks for the deepest point on the Earth - this would be the centre of the planet. What you mean is what is the deepest point in the ocean?
@@andrewgray996 True. Thanks for the feedback!
I was wondering about that. I saw the answer said "124 miles" and I said to myself, "huh?". 7 vs 124, that's a big mistake.
Also, the deepest POINT is the Challenger deep, the trench is not a point.
32/40. 👍
Good stuff Linda :)
I got full correct
Thanks for playing
I have nearly five right answers
All good. Keep up the good effort!
Q. 19. The answer is ANTARCTICA , there are 2 letters c.
You're right. My bad on the typo. Thanks for the feedback Andy
You could move them a bit slower it’s hard to finish de reading of them
Thanks for the feedback. The newer ones give a bit more time for question and answers.
Just Pick up on it, Question 28 has been removed. Wouldn't Mind if I could be put down below

Here are two good one's for you to use. What state in the US is furthest East, and what state is the furthest west? And how many time zones are in the US?
Nice! Thanks for the suggestions
Alaska is Furthest east
@@golfkid333 ?
@@gregengel1616 the Aleutian Islands are in the very far east of the eastern Hemisphere, therefore Alaska is furtherest east state
@@golfkid333 thank you for the clarification. I should have taken a second and thought about it.

Europe is a part of Asia. No ocean separates it from that Continent. Or, if you want to think of the world as it is, think of the flag of the Olympics. The Olympics are a representation of the world's countries. Five rings intertwined represent the 5 continents that people live on. (Antarctica doesn't have humans there :)). Just looking at the world says 6 continents. It's too simple to look at the geographical world and say there are more than 6 continents. Honest.
Europe is not a part of Asia, Europe is a part of Eurasia - a huge landmass, that contains 2 continents within.
I got some
Good stuff! Thanks for playing
The Antarctic Ocean was renamed to The Southern Ocean in 1999.
Yep that's correct! I'm out of date on that one lol.
Thanks for the correction

So Jericho in Palestine or Damascus in Syria is the oldest?? I would debate here. And capital of Vatican is Vatican City. No debate here
35/40
Nicely done Minas!
thank you@@Apptato
Is Alaska further west than Hawaii?
Yes, the Aleutian Islands.
@@christoburgero1622 Thanks. I'm an Aussie and didn't have a clue. I thought Hawaii was obvious but ........
Part of it is but not all of it. Thst's what makes it a trick question.
#14 It's 11 km. not 200! #27 Alas, Google gives several different answers! #35 82 what?
#22 the capital of Vatican City is Vatican city
Yep mistake on my part there. Thanks for pointing it out.
So Jericho in Palestine or Damascus in Syria is the oldest city?? I would debate here a little 😂
Death Valley 282 feet below sea level, not 82.
maybe, 82 is in meters?
Antartica not an ocean
On 16 u dont have Antarctica on the picture.
Name 2 places in the United States, where the city or Town, county, and state all have the same name. [Note: any of those 3 may have an added word to the "base" name].
If Egypt invented the toothpaste why are the scientists telling us "Cleopatra probably other Pharaohs had bad teeth?
"..the Egyptians had bad dental hygiene. This was partly due to their bread having grit and sand in it, which wore away their enamel. Whilst they hadn't established dentistry, they did create the world's oldest known formula for toothpaste"

The most westerly state of the US is Hawaii, not Alaska.
Nope. It's Alaska.

#14 the Mariana Trench is not 124 miles deep. If the Mariana Trench was 124 miles deep,it would pierce the Earth’s mantle.
Yep mistake on my part there. Thanks for pointing it out.
I would have done better if it was multiple guess. Got about half right.
Good effort! Check out the channel for more trivia. The older ones are multiple choice based.

As far as I know, Hawaii should be the westernmost state of the USA
It certainly looks that way, however Alaska's lesser known islands stretches out into the west more than Hawaii.
There is no Antarctic Ocean, it is called the Southern Ocean.
You're right. It was renamed in 1999.
29😢😢
Question 28 - Dude, you forgot Denmark and Iceland 🤷♂️
Hi Steven, the question was asking about the Scandinavian *Peninsula*. Iceland is a Scandinavian country but is an island. Denmark is also a Scandinavian country that happens to be a peninsula but it is not part of the major northern one (though some google searches indicate that it is part of it). In any case, I will be editing this question out as it just raises confusion. Perhaps in the future I can make it into a map related question. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
#30The capital of Canada is Ottawa not Regina
That's right. Ottawa's the capital of Canada, while Regina is the capital of Saskatchewan. The question was not written clearly in that one.
Thanks again for the due diligence!
These trivia questions are waaaay too easy
Thanks for playing Buttery. Can always find another channels with tougher trivia.

Q21 is wrong also... should be ''French Guiana'' is a country in South America right on the Atlantic Ocean. The land has a total area of 83,534 km² (32,253 mi²)
Thanks for the correction.
French Guiana is not a country
French Guiana is a department owned by France, as the name says
Yes but French Guiana is not an independent country is owned and controlled by France.
Finland is not part of Scandinavia.
in my country it is )
You must live in a strange country@@_Diana_S
all those below claiming 90% or better are full of it....
Full of knowledge?
What does "The deepest point in Earth" mean? That would be the center of the Earth, i.e. in the core. The Mariana Trench is the deepest point on the earth's crust under the ocean surface. Please tighten up your standards. Thanks.
Meant to say: Deepest point on Earth.
I suppose I should have also included "crust under the ocean's surface as well" for the sticklers out there ;)
@@Apptato Yes. That would have been a good idea. It would have been correct!
Question 26,answer is nonsense. Tell me what sea meet east coast of USA? Atlantic sea??? Or is it an ocean. Differences are in size, depth and biodiversity.
Hi Martius. You're correct about the Atlantic Ocean and that they do differ in size/depth and biodiversity.
I should have included the word 'usually' as part of my definition as it is not always the case as you've pointed out.
Can check with this definition: oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/oceanorsea.html
If Alaska is the westernmost state, where does Hawaii come in? Is that considered to be to the east of Maine? WHAT???
Can look up Alaska's Aleutian Arc.
@@Apptato What does that mean?
@@nickchester3275 Alaska has an arc of islands that extend far beyond the mainland. If you Google it, you will see what I mean.
Mariana Trench is not 124 miles deep😭😭
You're right. Made a mistake in that one.
If Regina is the capital of Saskatchewan, why did you show a picture of Saskatoon?
Thanks for pointing that out. The stock image photo site I got it from must have mislabelled it.
Update: Their are now 6 oceans. The new one being the Southern Ocean.
Yep!
And there are still 9 planets.
Southern=Antarctic?
Correction: Still only five. The Antarctic Ocean was just renamed to the Southern Ocean, it's not a new ocean.
The second question you forgot the isle of man
Thanks for the correction. Let me look into that.
Isle of Man is not a country, it is a crown dependency
Isle of Man is a crown dependency
Hey, Australia is a country not a continent. Get it right!
No one said it wasn't a country. But there's some inconsistency online regarding what the continent is called in that region. Some call it Oceania, others use Australia. I've even heard Zealandia.
AUSTRALIA is Not a continent. It is a country and belongs to OCEANIA.
Yea you’re right. Lots of conflicting trivia online. Thought they created a new continent named Australia that includes the country itself and some surrounding ones as well. Thanks for the feedback.
Australia is a country. Not a continent. Never heard a kiwi saying they were Australian. !! How stupid is that
Oceania is not a continent
Yes it is, it consists of more than just Australia but is commonly known as Australia.
@@delboyk.8552 The New Zealanders would NOT be happy! It's like telling Canadians that they're part of the US.
@@andrewgray996 My statement is correct on the name of the Oceania continent and what it's commonly called (read it again pls) and No but canada is part of north america.
OK. I respect your view. But as an Australian - 68 yrs old - we have always been taught that Australia is a continent (one of seven) and that the continent of Australia forms part of Oceania, which includes NZ, PNG, and many other smaller Western Pacific island nations mainly to the north and east of the Australian continent.
Yes it is
Just 2 notes. There are only 6 continents. (Europe isn't a continent, but a part of west Asia. Only politics separates it). And there is no Antarctic Ocean. It is known as the "Southern" Ocean.
Europe is a continent.
You’re right about the Antarctic Ocean (I’m outdated lol). It was renamed to southern ocean relatively recently.
I've never seen anyone claim that Europe is not a continent. Where did you learn that?
There is no general consensus about the oldest city. It is debatable
Wales is a Principality of England . Northern Ireland is a Province of the United Kingdom of Great britain . Neither are countries .
poop
Australia is NOT a continent. Australia is a country, FFS!
Thanks for the feedback.
I will be removing the 2 questions dealing with Australia as a continent as it is incorrect as you and others have pointed out.
Too fast and no explaining after the questions.
Can always pause or slowdown the video if you need more time. Future videos will have 15’seconds question and 3 seconds per answer.
Thanks for playing Daniel
Australia is a country, not a continent!!!!
Australia is a country. People are calling the whole continental region Oceania or simply just Australia. So it's both.
It’s both
It is also a continent onto itself.
Actualy you´ve made a mistake in your Video. You failed to show the correct depth of the mariana trench. For people who don´t want to be as stupid as the guy who made the video, the right depth is 11 Kilomerters!!!
Yep mistakes happen. This one was already pointed out by many other commenters.
Jericho , Palestine is the oldest city not demascus
Seems like this is a hotly debated topic with some claiming Jericho was inhabited 2000 years earlier than Damascus. I should have mentioned both for a more complete answer. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
