This is amazing!!! Thank you for sharing! Just a few weeks ago, the Lord revealed to me the story when Christ came upon this young man whom had kept the commandments since birth. Jesus saw in him that he could not let go of his wealth and said sell all that you have, give to the poor and follow me. The young man could not do it. The Lord showed me that He was giving him such an impossible standard so he would not turn to himself, rather turn to the Saviour. Regarding salvation, "with man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible!" This message has really strengthened that even further!

The Lord showed me that the narrow way is the same as the camel entering in thru the eye of the needle. I went to look it up and the greek for rich also means those who abound in christian virtues. The rich.. have a hard time to give up their own virtues and self righteousness.. "deny yourself and follow me." That young man was not only rich materially but he thought he was rich in virtues by keeping the commandments since birth.

I would like to say in my humble opinion,
Jesus wants us to turn and repent from our sin, 180 degrees!
Jesus wants us to do our best walking the narrow path, NOT ABOLISHED, just fulfilled!
When on the path and you need help, turn to Jesus!
Jesus wants all people to be doers of the word, NOT HEARERS!
Read your Bible and get the understanding GOD has for you!
Test all teaching with your own understanding.

You say that because you're trusting in your own effort, instead of trusting the work of the holy spirit. The reason you're supposed to trust Jesus is so that you don't strive to enter through your own effort. If you let the holy spirit do the work, you will see results. You will not be resisting sin. You will simply choose not to sin because you love Jesus more, because sin has lost relevance to you. The holy spirit gives you new desires. So it's not supposed to be a struggle not to sin. It's supposed to be a choice to let go of sin naturally, just like when you start exercising and eating healthy, all of a sudden junk food is not so appealing to you anymore.

Bas, you are right on the money! What I find very sad is that Believers are not understanding, and you explain it so well. Besides the message subject of the "Narrow Way" there is the hidden message, or the one looked passed, that is to read scripture in context, and present day truth! Some of these Believers are throwing verses and comments around missing the entire point. Wow has the devil made a mess of things.
It would be foolishness for me to open a Harry Potter book from the middle and assume I know the story in order to judge the character of the book. But yet God's people do it everyday with the Word of God, very sad.
As Paul says, some are not ready for solid food. Sadly to say the church is still in a infidel stage because the enemy has blinded them.

Some people in the comments are confused. Salvation is a gift from God that is freely given to those who believe and accept Christ for their salvation. If you give someone a gift and they accept it, it’s theirs for the rest of their lives and theirs nothing they need to do to continue to earn that gift. Your not going to tell them after giving them the gift that in order to keep the gift they need to keep doing things for you in order to prove that they’ve truly accepted the gift. That doesn’t make any sense. Some of you keep saying you need to pick up your cross every single day and follow all of gods commands in order to continue receiving a gift. By doing so, your adding works that are entirely separate from the gift you received. Sure we should strive to do Gods will nice we are saved, but it is not those works that prove are salvation. It is are faith in Christ that is prof of our salvation.

Question: They once said that Jesus was the narrow gate because he was the only way to the father and difficult was its path because many of the apostles and Christians will suffer death and persecution. If the narrow path was under the law, and not Christ, why then would he say “Strive to enter through the narrow gate..." in LUKE 13:24? Why would Jesus encourage them to strive to enter thru the law? That does not seem to make much sense in this passage if the law was the narrow gate.....what is your explanation for this?

Hello and thanks so much for your insightful question! It's clear you're striving to fully understand the connections and distinctions within Scripture, particularly regarding the "narrow gate". The verse you mentioned certainly seems challenging when viewed this way. While Jesus indeed is the narrow gate, we can delve deeper into the context and intended message of this narrative in Luke 13:24, without any confusion with the law. I'd be delighted to dive deeper into this with you, and answer any other queries you might have about Grace at our Grace Gaze Academy. Do you think that maybe it is Jesus who kept the commandments for us and that as a result of our faith and abiding in Jesus that we will keep many of his commandments? I have yet to see a Christ follower who is perfect or able to earn their salvation. I believe Jesus fulfilled the keeping of commandments for us and through the knowing of God and who he is we will naturally be more able to follow what God has set out for us to do, but that part has nothing to do with salvation because we are already saved by grace :)

Work is absolutely not for Salvation but the glorification of Grace.
When we do good works that is admirable and pure before angels and men we don't merit salvation but we only tell the universe how amazing God's GRACE is.

New Name - those mentioned in Revelation 7:9 come out of the GREAT TRIBULATION! I believe they are those "on the fence" Christians, the "Lukewarm Christians" who know about the rapture, see it happen, and don't go. Why don't they go? Jesus is coming back for those who are looking for him, those who are "overcomers". Those who are walking with Him EVERYDAY! Those who are walking in the narrow way.
      1 John:
And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. 4If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. 5But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. 6Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.

Now is our time to share the good news with others that we are all loved and a part of a new family through what Jesus has already done. I agree with his teaching that each believer should get away from the institution and have a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD. The LORD Himself told us not to call any human our teacher or father, but that The LORD alone was Our ONLY Teacher and Father - Matthew 23:8-10
However the STRONGEST CONCERN with the grace movement is that IT IS A PETRI DISH FOR DEMONS. When we were saved our spirits got saved and became one with The LORD - we are as He is and we are Holy in His Sight - 1John 4:17, Hebrews 2:11.
Our souls - physical body, mind, will and emotions remained the same. If that was not true every person who gets saved will immediately be 100% healed of every ailment and would never have a problem with anger etc. And we know that does not happen. Beyond that there a people who have evil spiritual hangers on/evil entities/demons because they were vulnerable to deep hurt, abuse or a transference of a genetic/ancestral evil through their blood. ALL those things have been DEFEATED BY CHRIST but it is the believer who has to enforce that defeat in their souls by casting out those entities of the abuse they suffered.
The grace movement while ignoring the demon casting out issue sometimes has preached that people cannot be possessed with demons. The new age movement teaches the same. As a result THE DEMONS REMAIN AND GET A STRONGER HOLD IN THE PERSON'S LIFE and the confusion that arises can lead the grace movement to justify every aberration that INVITES DEMONS IN like homosexuality etc. because they FOCUS ONLY ON LOVE!.
While a believer cannot be possessed in his spirit by demons, his soul can be. ALSO EVERYTHING SUPERNATURAL IS NOT OF THE GOD OF TRUTH. evil can manifest with supernatural "healings" etc. which are a DECEPTION - they don't last and will cause the person to be worse than they were. roman catholic exorcism is one because the religion is rooted in pagan sun worship and satan will not fight against satan.
William Branham who is known for his supernatural gifts, often true gifts where people even today testify of how they were helped, was said, by his assistant Ern Baxter, to operate with 2 spirits. This can happen especially when the preacher/person is under pressure to perform, or through DECEPTION and their ego, goes outside of his assignment from The LORD. A person called to be only an evangelist can try to teach or think he or she is a prophet or apostle when The LORD never called them into that ministry.
In all ministry in The Name of the LORD GOD of Truth, and the Father of The LORD Jesus (Yehoshua), the minister must be dead to his or her flesh and be ONLY Spirit in The Father, with the ONLY desire to be a conduit of His Will and Word for every person. As the apostle John said, He must increase and we must decrease.
The LORD told us that believers in Him will cast out demons. It is a supernatural sign THAT WILL FOLLOW BELIEVERS. Let us not miss His Ministry by deception of darkness that is defeated when exposed and allowed to multiply and destroy when able to hide. The LORD said that satan comes to KILL STEAL AND DESTROY - John 10:10. If we see that happening in the lives of people including believers let us seek the LORD to teach us and let us check every teaching with Him as He is OUR ONLY TEACHER.

Jesus tells us we must strive, do more than make a claim of belief, we must put in effort to get through the narrow gate.
    Luke 13:23-30
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from
the north and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. 30And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
The gate is narrow because the process is hard, and the perspective we need to see the entrance to the narrow gate comes only through the Savior, Christ Jesus. We don’t do it on our own but operate by the power of Christ, in us, so God receives all the glory.
The goal of the narrow gate starts with repentance followed obedience to live a life that glorifies God. It may seem counterproductive to fight through the narrow gate of persecution and hardship by resting in Jesus. His burden is light, He promises. Putting it down all that entangles us is difficult! However, the possibility of missing our chance at eternity is extremely plausible if we clutch onto sinfull desires, lusts and pursuits of the world the wide gate.Destruction means a loss that produces utter ruin, perishing, and here refers to loss of eternal life with God.
Jesus contradicts believing is all that is required.
    Strive means work and performance.

In fact to be saved, you simply need to accept Jesus as Lord and savior then you follow the commandments.
God knows that we are fallible to sin,no matter how much we try ,we mistakenly sin .when we sin ,that's when we look to Jesus ,plead to Him to forgive us of our sins and because we have already accepted Him ,He never rejects but accept us,that's what the law couldn't do ,thus forgiveness of sins and that's what Jesus is there for.
Not that as you said that there two ways to heaven that you either accept Jesus or obey the commandments.

The gospel call to faith presupposes that sinners must repent of their sin and yield to Christ’s authority.” In other words, a sinner who refuses to repent is not saved, for he cannot cling to his sin and the Savior at the same time. And a sinner who rejects Christ’s authority in his life does not have saving faith, for true faith encompasses a surrender to God. Thus the gospel requires more than making an intellectual decision or mouthing a prayer; the gospel message is a call to discipleship. The sheep will follow their Shepherd in submissive obedience.
    Jesus’ repeated warnings to the religious hypocrites of His day as proof that simply agreeing to spiritual facts does not save a person. There must be a heart change. Jesus emphasized the high cost of discipleship: “Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27), and “Those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples” (verse 33). In the same passage, Jesus speaks of counting the cost;
elsewhere, He stresses total commitment: “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says that eternal life is a narrow path found by “only a few” (Matthew 7:14); in contrast, some seek to broaden the path so that anyone who has a profession of faith can enter. Jesus says that “every good tree bears good fruit” (verse 17); in contrast, some say that a tree can still be good and bear nothing but bad fruit. Jesus says
that many who say “Lord, Lord” will not enter the kingdom (verses 21-23); in contrast, some teach that saying “Lord, Lord” is good enough.
    Paul and James
taught that a true profession of faith will be backed up by evidence of faith. If a person is truly following the Lord, then they will obey the Lord’s instructions. A person who is living in willful, unrepentant sin has obviously not chosen to follow Christ, because Christ calls us out of sin and into righteousness. Indeed, the Bible clearly teaches that faith in Christ will result in a changed life
    2 Corinthians 5:15,17
    Galatians 5:22-23
    James 2:14-26

Yeah he's not right about this one I don't think. Personally since I was led to grace from Lordship salvation I have strived many times to keep my faith in Christ. Its natural for us to want to work for salvation bc we are programmed to work for acceptance, for money, etc. Before, a grace preacher would pop up in my feed and I'd roll my eyes and think there is no way we are saved by just grace. I knew something was not quite right though with the Lordship salvation doctrine bc God was bringing many things to my attention. I got a crazy hunger for the Word, after asking God for the desire, and for about 7 months I read the Bible for several hours a day, and I was also praying to be led to the truth. I ended up at free grace, AND even received confirmation from God that this was the right way. Since then I still have days where I really struggle. I am so used to working for salvation that I find myself struggling to put all my faith in Jesus for my salvation. Having lived both ways, it takes A LOT of trust and faith in Christ to put your eternity in His hands alone without picking it back up. And before anyone says I love my sins, I have the Holy Spirit and I hate sin. My mind is renewed and my desires have changed. I don't even watch tv anymore and all my free time is spent learning about Christ. It isn't easy to put all your trust in Him for salvation. That's what I believe this verse means. Also if you research religions you will see the majority of them are works based, I have had family members turn their backs on me for my belief that Jesus saves us, not ourselves. It would be so easy to go the other way but God led me to truth and I have to strive to put my faith in Him, and strive to stand for truth even when nobody else is. Also I didn't realize what persecution was until I trusted in Him for salvation. This is the way. God bless you.

    Luke
    Chapter 13
1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
31 The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Stay away from other translations. What were they professing to Him??? WORKS! They cast out demons, and said they did many WONDERFUL WORKS!! He says they work iniquity bc they are living the law, therefore they are judged by the law! And of course being human they practiced lawlessness since they couldn't keep it!!! How can you not understand that the ONLY WAY to not have sins when you stand before God is to be covered by the blood of the lamb! Having His righteousness imputed onto you. Then you are white as snow. Do you even read the Bible? If you are just parroting what others tell you, you shouldn't even comment. It's as clear as a bell that we are saved by grace. All it takes is a desire to find truth and you have to seek Him and actually STUDY, not just read, your Bible. If you read the Bible, how can you not see how He spoke to the religious, the Pharisees??? In the verse you are referring to He said HE NEVER KNEW THEM! They were obviously religious. Why did He not know them? He didn't say I knew you once, but you forgot to repent. He said NEVER KNEW YOU. Bc they disregarded what He did on the cross, trampling the Son of God underfoot by trying to do it without Him! Did they tell Him they trusted in Him and had faith? No! They told Him of the wonderful WORKS HE DID!
Please start praying daily and asking God to reveal truth to you. i prayed for 7 months while struggling to keep His law. I also spent hours, daily, in his word, searching. He finally revealed it to me but He had to break down my preconceived, man made doctrine of works first. It clicked spiritually and mentally and now everything I read makes sense. Some ppl will never get it. Disregarding Jesus' death on the Cross as if it wasn't sufficient. I guess the man and woman whom sin came through were more powerful than God shedding His blood on the Cross??!!

You need to stop following men and ask God Himself to lead you to truth and not only read your Bible, but STUDY it along with prayers to be led to truth. Do that for about 6 months and see where you end up. You can't bypass studying the Word and seeking God by listening to other men. There is no substitute. You have to put in the time and effort. Have you read the Bible through yet? Have you prayed for truth or did you just assume the right way and follow it? Do you actually study the Word, or just read it out of guilt? I'm trying to figure out why you are so misled.

I like your videos but here I humbly submit that I think that you are wrong. Grace does NOT preclude effort. No one expends energy or effort as liberally, even extravagantly as one who has been touched by God's grace, and in motivated by the pure quality of God's love.
Grace precludes the notion of EARNING "brownie points" with God through our efforts.
The grace that saved us does not make us marionettes either. We have a will (that makes us most like Him). We still have TO WILL to obey all that JESUS commands us to do. I think that's how we "abide in Him". Judas received Jesus, but he willed something contrary..
And, yes it IS possible to take grace too far!

Amen brother. When we repent, change our mind from trusting in our dead works to trusting in Jesus and His finished work, we receive the free gift of salvation. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30. Born again, born of God.
Romans 4:6-8 He imputes His righteousness to us without works, and will no more impute sin to our account. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, (we did nothing for it) it is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. I have nothing to boast in because I did nothing for it. AMAZING GRACE, JESUS PAID IT ALL AND I PAID 0. IT IS FREE. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
What is the will of God? John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that all that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have eternal life, and I will raise Him up on the last day.
I am not going to heaven because I am a good person, I am going to heaven because I am a bad person but Jesus paid my sin debt in full so I can never be condemned again. John 3:18
See you in heaven Brother Bas.

the "narrow" way is trusting in christ alone, the "striving" is about not trusting in your own works, religious and religious bondage makes it difficult for a person to simply trust christ alone, so breaking away from a works salvation takes effort, its breaking away from religious bondage is what a person needs effort to do, its not easy for a person to simply trust christ alone for salvation, the "Easy believism" is working for salvation, thats the natural way all religion teaches, thats the way that seems right to a man...grace is not what seems right to a man, WORKS is what makes sense to most people, mans works...its by grace thru faith alone.

This is not quite true. Peter said that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, that God's desire is that all come to repentance. For God to decide "who can believe," would be violating Scripture. God allows man to make that decision. Of course, He knows beforehand who will receive Him and who will not. I think this is one of the many errors of Calvinism.
It's not that the "10 Commandments are summarized and made new in Jesus' teaching," rather, Jesus reveals to us the true meaning that motivated these laws.

You say the path is no longer a narrow and we no longer need to strive to enter the gate. That is saying the opposite of what Jesus just said. The scripture you quote Luke 13:22 -30. Jesus said the gate is narrow and we must strive to enter. It means what it says and says what it means. It by no means is saying the gate/path is no longer narrow and there is no need to strive.

Your understanding of the "narrow path" is not what I have been led to understand through my studies. I understand the "narrow path" as believing on Jesus for salvation as opposed to those who believe salvation is by some form of works. From what I gather from your video, you apparently define the "narrow path" as keeping the Law perfectly as Jesus did. However, Jesus mentioned that there are "few" that find this narrow path. Therefore, according to your video description of the narrow path, it must be concluded that there are a "few" who keep the law as Jesus did. That seems to contradict the scripture which says that no person is righteous and that no people can keep the Law. What scripture do you see that shows you the meaning of the narrow path to be perfection of Christ? I don't see it.

    • @BasRijksen
      @BasRijksen  Před 10 lety +3

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I do indeed define the "narrow path" as keeping the law to gain a righteous standing with the Father. Thus, pointing towards the whole Old Covenant system that the Jews were striving under, but never arriving (unto righteous) under.
With that I say that it's impossible through rulekeeping to gain right standing with God. This "path" is not only difficult but actually completely impossible. In the end a few might find it (trying to be saved by works), but even then nobody will make it into a relationship with God based on their own merit.
So, in fact, I'm not saying that there are a "few" that will be able or that are keeping the law as Jesus did (as you might have cleaned from the video). As you know, nobody can or is able. Only He. And He did it for us! Hope that clarifies.

"With that I say that it's impossible through rulekeeping to gain right standing with God. This "path" is not only difficult but actually completely impossible"
I certainly agree that it's impossible to keep the Law but the point of my question is, if you believe the narrow path is defined as keeping the Law, why did Jesus say a FEW would find it?? Why didn't Jesus say that NONE would find it?

    • @BasRijksen
      @BasRijksen  Před 10 lety +4

***** Aha. Taking the context as I've come to understand it the "few" that would find it refers to something similar Paul said in Phil. 3:4-6 "If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so:......concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless." Paul stated that to the standard of human efforts to gain righteousness he was blameless. Or this could be put that in that sense he was one of the few extreme and zealous law-keepers that was so out there into self-salvation programs that he could be considered among "the few who found it" so to speak (but still falling short of course). Few might be found blameless in human eyes regards their self-righteousness (or have suppossely find salvation on their own), however unless our righteousness exceeds the righteousness of scribes and Pharisees, we'll by no means enter the kingdom of heaven (Mat. 4:20). Anyway, that are some thoughts on this. If you want to share yours; I'm always open to hear from you.

Jesus did not preach His law that he gave to Moses. They already had the law for over 1600 years. Jesus preached repentance.
In fact Jesus's first command when He started His earthly ministry was Repent.
    Mark 1:15
    Matthew 4:17
Jesus's final command after the resurrection was for us to preach REPENTANCE.
    Luke 24:45-47
Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,
And REPENTANCE FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS will be preached in His name to 👉ALL NATIONS 👈Starting in Jerusalem.

Yes, of course we are saved by believing in Jesus, but narrow way is a way of striving to be as holy as it only possible for saved sinner to be. Acknowledging Jesus without actually following Him in this life-I am sorry but it sounds like nothing I read in my bible

Jesus is addressing Jews who feel that law keeping will save them. The narrow way is believing in Jesus.

Sergey, It sounds like you believe people will not sin after salvation. We are still of the flesh though and only grace via Christ saves us. I believe this narrow way is achieved by Jesus and him alone. He, himself is the narrow way. After salvation (starting a relationship with our savior), we will do good things in Jesus name, it's just out of victory knowing we are accepted by Christ for eternity and not out of fear that we won't be accepted by God (because we already are). Now is our time to share the good news with others that we are all loved and a part of a new family through what Jesus has already done. When we learn to know God we will strive to do things that honor him because of his love outpouring through us :)

How about this then...scripture labour to enter into HIS REST. Hebrews 4:10-11 For he that is entered into his rest he also CEASED from his own works as God did from his. 11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of UNBELIEF. Theres your striving. OT tells us Israel could not enter because of their unbelief right? EPH. 8:2-10 BTW He is in fact is giving scripture backing this. The reason it says narrow and difficult and few is simply because of the temptation to base their salvation upon performance. As you seem to imply here. This unbelief WHICH IN FACT JESUS'S COMMAND OBEDIENCE WAS TO BELIEVE IS exposed every time one tries to diminish the power of Christs work upon the cross. Hebrews targets these very people who started in faith believing in Christ's FINISHED WORK by returning to the law which displays more faith in mans ability to receive what is only provided through Christ being not a way but THE WAY and for many its narrow simply because of their unbelief in what Christ ACCOMPLISHED BEING FINISHED and returning back to trusting in their own actions and striving to do what IS IMPOSSIBLE or had it been do you actually believe God would have risked so much suffered so much to do? Do you think so little of that gift to imply it was incomplete imperfect still needing help from man? If it weren't so offensive to my Lords sacrifice it would be laughable. Repent for your unbelief . . THAT IS WHAT BAS WAS SAYING TO BE IMPOSSIBLE. It is narrow, difficult and few find it because real faith in Jesus and his sacrifice requires what matthew said those who seek to save their life will lose it ( also means fearing one could lose their salvation and choosing to strive to save themselves instead of Christ having saved them through faith in him SCRIPTURE was able to deliver those who through fear of death to save to the uttermost. ) but those who lose their lives for Christs sake shall find it. ( believing more in Jesus sacrifice to save to the uttermost and his ability than your ability to damn your own self to hell) this is not only unbelief it is idolatry placing more faith in self than him. It is satan who keeps christian in this cycle of ineffectiveness. .because those who are caught up in this are more focused on self than Christ and sharing the hope of the gospel to others. Phil. Says that the communication of you faith becomes effective through the acknowledgement of every good thing in you in Christ. Where is the hope or how can you even share that if you yourself arent convinced this is the salt that serves no purpose. Its Christ in you the hope of glory. It's not hope that I can do something to help ensure myself saved. And its not wishful thinking . It is the earnest expectation of glory based on his work and not of yourself. This hope is what the scripture says and hope doesnt disappoint because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the earnest seal down payment of the purchased possession ...us!! It is few because even when they hear they stop short of believing because by their own actions return to works instead of settling the truth in their hearts enough to kill all fear of condemnation and hell to go on to perfection to be that light not hidden under a pillow to give light to the world. No when one demonstrates more value on their lives efforts performance to get what Christ provided they have abandoned faith in Christ seeking to save what only Christ can. Hebrews speaks in 6:6 impossible for those having once tasted Gods goodness even heavenly gift ect...and falls away to renew them unto repentance seeing they have crucified unto THEMSELVES the Lord afresh putting him to open shame simply says no matter what when you accept christ you can not undo what Christ did no more than he can return to the cross again. But he says unto themselves because of the behavior to return to this addressing sins of which was already addressed and discounted the value of Christs work being again ashamed for the shame Christ carried in their place. This is also scriptural backed in Hebs talking about if those sacrifices made were complete and perfect it would have settle the payment of sin forever leaving no need to remember their sin. Read it for yourself. How much more should Christ purge your conscious from dead works. The works are dead because nothing you can do can save you only Christ
