This series of CA-49 is like a time capsule. I'm getting ready to read a book about the Gold Rush in the Klondike 45 years after the CA Gold Rush.
Thank God the Coloma Bridge gets very light traffic! Surprised that it's still standing!

My family used to camp and go river rafting in this exact area every summer in the 80's and 90's

Love the entire highway 49 journey but this segment is the best one yet with gorgeous scenery, historic architecture and your photos of specific information markers. In addition the music is fun and appropriate. Congratulations!

I was traveling west from Sacramento and there was a major accident that closed I 80, so I had to detour through Placerville once. What a beautiful detour.

Wow that was quite the long detour. It takes about an hour to go from Placerville to Auburn. It is beautiful indeed!

Umm, excuse me but, can you let me know who the singer is for Gold Dust Woman?
    I really like that rendition!
