I have 40+ years of painting knowledge, I now teach, primarily in oils. YOU are one hell of a teacher, and artist thank you!
Congratulations on being the first and ONLY person who put music on their youtube video that's not only not making my ears bleed, but it's actually good!
holy crap 3 hours instruction. that is awesome. speed paint is helpful, however, this is something that should be done more often. thanks for letting us watch the process start to finish!
Ryan This is by far the best how to ever posted on U-Tube, You show all the steps needed for a real photo type airbrushing Thank You for posting it.
Ryan has packed a butt load of tips in this video. If your new this video will really help you..
Wow. I am so grateful to see how this is created. Thank you for sharing
It’s an old video. But, it’s good. It’s like we’re just chill’n and you’re a friend who’s helping me to suck less.
Greetings from Athens! I can't say how thankfull people are, for giving the chance to see, a so detailed and well explained video tutorial! Thank u for taken the time and spread the word ( i'mean i can't say that anybody woyld have spend and sacrifice more than 3 hours of his spare time to do so). God bless - wonderfull act! Namaste
I agree with your views on perfection. Its the imperfections that define one artist from another. Its the imperfections that shape your style. Imperfection is creativity in motion.
Thank you man, I've started painting my own motorcycle since recently. As someone who has no art background, I find your tutorial really helpful.
Great video thanks for sharing the steps of how you do some of your work.
Your work is absolutely stunning!
Great tips and what an amazing finished article!
Great tutorial man, it's such a great asset for beginner airbrush artists! keep it up!
I've only discovered your videos a couple weeks ago and I just wanted to thank you for these awesome tutorials!
Thank you so much Ryan for this beautiful work 👍
Beautiful work love it
Ridiculously cool. Thanks for taking the time to video this and talk through your thoughts as you did it. VERY helpful.
Ryan, thanks for the video. Very informative and amazing. I will be picking up my airbrush again soon. Cant wait.
FANTASTIC.
I'm only 30 mins in and I'm lost for words almost, GREAT info!!!! God bless you bro, thank you SO much!
I'm grateful for your sharing this great tutorial. Thanks so much
Mr. Townsend, let me say that's by far the longest video I've ever watched. Let me also say I've learned more in these past 3 plus hours than in any 3 years of watching these videos. As far as the placement or mapping goes that's 99% common sense, use what's in front of you to your advantage. But I have come away with a much deeper understanding of the value of layering, going back and putting on some more, touching up and layering again. Not at all like oil painting on canvas where the black or green on your brush goes on as is ! For you to take the time and trouble to make such a video for the education of others is simply astounding. Don't let this go to your head but you do have talent, awesome talent, and you come off as a pretty nice down to earth guy too. Wicked combination. Thank you for the vid and a long and fruitful career to you.
this video has a lot good introspection, technique, and wisdom
yey finally a new video :) thanks for that one! you were one reason for me to start airbrushing 5 years ago :)
Dude. The most amazing video on CZcams.
Thank you for the video, very informative, best airbrushing video on youtube by far
Tank you so much Ryan for your générosity! Stephan:France.
I am realy impressed. Great video. Your work is stunning.
Half way through so far but still I agree to most comments: I learned more in this video than all other videos combined!
Great detail work and very helpfull tips. I can't wait to use my airbrush again after watching the whole video!
Saw you working at SEMA! I have been watching your videos for a couple years and it was awesome to see you make it there! Your work looked amazing! Congrats!!
Absolutely brilliant, thank you so much
beutiful work, and the video helped to show how painstakingly long the process is.Thanks for the tips
Brilliant!
Great tutorial. Remind me back to the basic of pencil drawing! Thanks.
Superb talent…!
wish you all the best and success in your future because of teaching us these types of complex techniques and your self learnt techniques to us without any hesitation…!
Respect 🖤🖤🖤
Masterpiece!
This is definitely the best airbrush tutorial on portraits i have seen out of all the videos i have watched... thank you for explaining everything so clearly from ink preferred airbrush and color mixture to stenciling and the actual step by step airbrushing the portrait.. everyone tries to quickly show you things but they skip so many steps or they time lapse the video and a beginner honestly cant learn to much from a time lapse or a person rushing through the steps.. I really appreciate this video i will subscribe right now please make more tutorials on other aspects like letters color blending and tips for a absolute beginner like me i recently purchased my airbrush and was so excited to airbrush a name and a picture and my letters and everything else looked horrible I couldnt control the consistency of the thickness of lines i would either make them to thin or to thick and if i had to stop and then come back to continue a line i tried to continue the line exactly the same thickness of the part of line I already had and I couldn’t make it look like i never split the line in 2 pieces you can see exactly where i came in and continued the line because I pulled back a little to much on the trigger so it made a circular little splatter so the line was ruined and when im trying to make a name on a shirt some oarts of the letters are a bit faded while other parts are darker and some parts are thiner while others are thicker its a total mess ..please make tutorials for a absolute beginner like me i really appreciate and admire your art.. you are an amazing artist your design looks excellent or whatever word is the highest in category of excellency then thats what your art is .. keep up the magnificent work bro god bless
Very talented. You certainly got skills. Thanks for sharing.
Your work is inspiring. Great choice of music! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Awesome video! The best for me is the things youre telling
Great Vid. Awesome job!

I love this video.
You are amazing sir....... Thanks for posting - I really learned allot from this one.
wow sweet great job !!!
what a gem!! thanks
awesome..thank you..so glad I found you!!!
I love how this shows how much time and patience it takes to do something like this. Beautiful job and great job explaining your thoughts and key points.
Great job! Thanks a lot!
Very very very very nice job!
Fabulous work! Thanks for posting the many vids that you have. I'm researching air brush so that I'll know enough to hire someone to do some really small projects.....much appreciated!
wow, nice to see an artwork on an automotive (motorbike) job; as most "art" especially airbrushed art is on canvas, tee shirts, cakes, or as illustrations on paper! Great to see the use of airbrushing these projects, as when you say "spray paint a car" in CZcams, it comes up with flat coating a car in one colour (using a normal or HVLP spray gun)- as in what a crash repairer does when repainting a car.
Beautiful🤟
Very cool
Beautiful portrait and Brilliant tutorial, you have a new subscriber, I am totally amazed, there should be more like this tutorial, very well explained.
This dude good , I learned something, I'm going to apply what I learned today.
Awesome video Ryan!! Thanks for doing it! Invaluable tool for us noobies.

Amazing talent and experience! Thank you so much for sharing your art with everyone!
Ur boss bro looks awesome as hell thank u for being suck an inspiration to me and others!
I only 1 hour in to your video and its the best one ii have found. Very good work instructions and touching up on all details, very informative. Keep it up the force is with you lol .
Thanks man, Im going to try it.
Finally a real time video that explains everything so precisely. 👏👏👏 I learned a lot in this one. Thanks for sharing your time & talent.
Great tutorial. great tips. Can you do a tutorial on fixing errors? Say, how to recover if you go to heavy with black and need to lighten it up? Or dealing with colour shift and surface mixing?
That's a cool effect at the beginning. Kind of gives it an ice look.
wow!
You Rock. Thank you!
great video, wish other people appreciate it as i do, good luck
wow like your work, the pic that
when cutting some of your stencils try using a swivel knife, it has a smaller blade and gives you the ability to rotate the blade without hard stick line edges also try using a catapillar stencil for airbrushing, usually you will have to make your own but it gives you a wide range for blending and soft disappearing flow of paint.
That was an Awesome Job Ryan, Like how you Explain Stuff in your own words what works for you, and give good tips to other ppl who start dabling into airbrushing and such. Ive noticed one thing tho, seems like the girl you painted on the tank and the grey and black video you did, the ladies have a familiarity to one another :), or at least it kinda seams that way.
Thankyou for your tutorial video, you helped me alot ,you sir are a great teacher !!!!!,you have gained another subscriber, again thanks, also you explain everything from a to z ,what can i say!!!!
Wow 👏👏👏
Great!🎉🎉
Amazing work i watched the whole thing, makes me wanna pick up the brush again!
Hi Ryan your work is amazing I think you hit the nail on the head when you said beginners rush to see the end and miss out on the detail that counts. Your video taught me alot rather than just hearing "dagger stroke practise practise practise....." what are you thoughts on the devilbliss dagr airbrush for detail work
👍Nice! Thanks!!
finally bro! thanks for loading up the vid cheerz!
like ur video so much!
Ryan, you are an Arteeest Extrodinaire. You've inspired me so much with your knowledge, and videos. Today I received my Porter & Cable air compressor, my Cretex illustration colors should arrive tomorrow, and my Harder & Steenbeck Infinity 2 in 1 by Monday. Thanks so much for your teachings, especially for the newbies like me. Great tunes too! .
Wow !!!
very good b arft Thank you gor great sharing
ty
Wtf that's Awesome
best airbrush video on youtube! and ty for the great sound....
I learned more on this video than the rest of youtube combined.
Tru story
Pig Ax, to po aà
Verry verry cooool.
great video dude. the best one ive found so far. im going to illegally download so i can watch it whenever i want! thanks!!
You can watch it, by creating a Playlist on your CZcams account lol, and you can watch it constantly too lol :), Yeah He sure does Great Job, Another guy i Enjoy Watching or at least I used to, is Ed Hubbs, Another Great Artist that rambles about Details and Such, but I think Ryan does better Job at it.
Xavier Frosth Ed Hubbs is old school!!! What he shows you is what I did over 30 years ago. This kid is really good at airbrushing, and the way he takes his time to do what he is doing is the best way to airbrush.
thanks for shareing, when a artist shares information,he knows hes good, when people say thank you,we are your students, teach more please. From mapping,to the finsh was the best 3 hours on the lap top,in a long time...Can you do this again, but something EASY ,thank you kindly.
Grudge very cool effects you can also use a foam carpet cleaner from what I’ve watched on you tube
Will you post a video on how you airbrush hair texture please?
You can run a microphone into your respirator and eq some midrange out and get a close to normal sound
Alphonse Mucha, the great Art Nouveau painter would have dearly loved your work, as do I.
nice vid, full of helpful tips and techniques... ur good at ur job, getting the meaning of drawing and lights... its alll goooood... but i wonder one thing.. why do u constantly touching/pulling kind of ur needle?that prevents her from clogging? i guess u feel it,but thats what think :))
thanks,a lot for uploading ur vids,i just bought a CM-C+,taking the bumpy road to perfection... n im ready for some more of ur tips,Keep up the good work!
Sic sic sic 🤘
Is there any chance that you could indicate the reduction amount and approx air pressure when doing the eye lids etc, in black. Would appreciate very much! Beautiful work!
Wow, amazing work. Sorry didn't catch, what size needle were you using? Thanks
what pressure you using to make very fine details?
