I bought one last year. It stopped running. It was getting spark but no fuel. I ruined the carb messing with it this spring. A new carb was $8 delivered and it now runs perfect. It starts warm with barely a pull on the rope and idles well. I use the pole saw attachment quite a bit. It's a bargain. The reach with the extension is helpful. I think you'll like it.
Nice machine. They set it rich for the breaking in/running in period of the new engine. I break in/run in a new 2 stroke engine for a full year before I run at full power. I have had and used my trimmer for seventeen years and still runs like new.
Received before due date which was great. Assembly of product was easy with simple to follow instructions. Started on 2nd pull and has continued to do so each time. I use this strimmer almost everyday on both light and more heavy / thicker grass and bushes, have not had a problem so far. Unlike more expensive manufactured strimmers I have previously owned. Great value for money and would definitely recommend.

I have a similar, says MT52. Does well, but take a look at carburetor from time to time, mine went loose after a few tanks of fuel. Check the bolts and tighten them if necessary. Also, as the winter passed, I had to change fuel tubes, original ones were like a plastic.
The carb coming loose is funny! Definitely you will need new gas lines for this machine after 1 year. You'd be lucky if the carb lasted longer than that haha.
im replacing a Stihl weedeater with this model, and i must say THIS is the best value in weedeaters. it is built SO well, and in some ways far better than my old stihl. great video btw man! you did a wonderful job showing all the details, and i REALLY love how you answered my question about the speedfeed 450! the 450 would not fit on the stihl without heavy modification, so i am SUPER happy i can now use the 450 head!! i absolutely love this tool and cannot recommend it enough.

A little googling and I came across the Liam Sherwood 5 in 1 same exact thing as this. It does come with an Oregon chain and branded Liam. They sell that brand on Amazon UK and not available for shipping here to the U.S. I'd be willing to bet this the company that makes it for them but sells it cheaper unbranded which is the case for a lot of stuff we buy. It's amazing how many things we buy that are branded that we think are better quality because it's branded or "made to US standards" It's still made in China! Great video sir!
Thank you for this very useful and extensive review. I've just received mine today (T-Mech 5 in 1 Multi-Tool ref.10611) and when I had a look at the choke switch I noticed that they have added a little sticker with "Cold start - Choke on" (TOP position) and "Run - Choke off" (BOTTOM position) which contradicts the instructions on the original moulded plastic cover "OFF" (TOP) and "ON" (BOTTOM). Also, when it comes to the oil-fuel mix, the ratio is clearly 1 to 40 (in the instruction manual and at the back of the engine itself). Can't wait to get this going!
4 years later LOL I just bought one of these, the up dated modle, some of the things you pointed out have been fixed, like the string cutter head is now the one you put on yours, he cheap one is gone.

Those gray material cuffs or gaiters are to be worn around your ankles, to keep the weed and grass cuttings, maybe small stones, from going in your boot tops.

The rubber things are gaiters to go over your shins and ankles and boot tops. No zerk on the trimmer head so you don't blow out the seals. You use a squeeze bottle to add low viscosity grease.

I bought this tool. Adj carb in like 5 seconds after it started on 3rd pull. This machine is a freakin beast. The string line is strong and spins so fast the grass looks like a tornado flying around. I hope it last awhile. It sounds mean as hell just idling. Ebay for $178. $209 with shipping. Only thing wrong is cutoff switch didn't work. I just pull sparkplug boot off to kill it.

FYI I suspect you may have a third carb adjustment. There's probably a third screw in the center of the rotatory portion looking down at the top of the carb (inside the brass part). This is for idle mixture. Turn it until you get the highest idle speed, then 1/4-1/2 turns out, then set your idle speed with the other screw.

I Just bought a 42.7 cc brush cutter under the coocheer name. Had a tough time getting it started out of the box but learned about the reverse choke from your video. I am wondering if you have been running 25-1 or 40-1 oil mix? I am using my standard 40-1 and it seems to run fine on this. Thanks for the excellent reviews.
On the high-dollar Stihl or husky, you have THREE carb adj.screws... 1.)Low idle 2.)high speed 3.)idle set In 27 years,I'd like to see if your new weed trimmer is still running like new like my Stihls are.
I agree the old Stihl trimmer, made from components manufactured in Germany, can last a very long time given proper maintenance. However, Stihl now acknowledges that the great majority of components used in the current generation of Stihl products, including trimmers, are acquired from "global sources". That usually means China/Asia.
Got mine a couple of days ago...e-bay deal...$177.00...same exact unit...package was missing the chain saw blade safety cover and the "spike" type handle...wrote to their customer service yesterday...waiting to hear back from them...won't be the end of the world if I don't. However, a major glitch is the pull starter mechanism...on the 3rd start, the pull starter jammed in the extended position...chord won't retract...took the mechanism off the machine and tried to loosen the Phillips screw that holds it onto the housing...figured that would possibly loosen up the tension on the recoil spring...the screw won't budge...don't want to force the screw...anyone had the same issue?
I'm going to say for the price you didn't get too bad of a deal if you need any replacement parts you're going to have to see it Echo cuz that looks like an echo rip off then again most weed eaters have similar parts
Wrong, it's not even close to being an Echo/Shindaiwa trimmer, which by the way are one and the same. It's somewhat based on an old Mitsubishi engine design, but over the years it has been improved to where now, it shows much design and reliability improvement.
Be careful so dude hits the primer bulb like six times probably could have hit it more since there was no fuel in the lines but what does the primer bulb do it pulls gas from the tank and pushes it into the cylinder for easy start up. Now on machines that don't have a primer bulb you would pull it over a couple times slow but with the primer bulb that's not necessary that's what the primer bulb does some people
Coocheer brush 42&58cc cutter carburator cannot be high speed adjusted. For that matter it can't be low speed adjusted either. Only idle speed is adjustable.😱😡
Ok, i have to know, what brand it is and where you bought it. I have a 31 cc Craftsman that was my heavy hitter with the attachments. But is it compatible with click link/ expand it attachments. It sounds just like my Craftsman. Which still runs. But blew a head gasket after 15 years. What brand is it. As a semi pro gardener I am licking my chops to check this thing out for myself.
Your Craftsman 31cc trimmer, either 2-cycle or 4-cycle, is actually a TroyBuilt, and uses the old TroyBuilt accessory attachment couplers. That makes the attachments not compatible with this machine. For a gardener, this is a powerful heavy-duty brush cutter, and because it's so heavy it's not well-suited for light-duty tasks, such as walkway edging, small trimming jobs, cutting growth less than 12" tall, etc. But if you want to cut a road through heavy brush to where you need to trim, cut down small trees, trim 10 foot tall hedges, this is the machine to use. These machines don't really have a brand. But the China makers will brand it anything you want, as long as you buy it.
@@philliplawerence5784 whatever, I'm using all those attachments I used on the 31 cc on the brand new Husqvarna 128 ld . Click link or expand it they all fit both machines. I don't remember what I was referring to but my 16 year old click links all fit so does my brand new hedge trimmer attachment. Fits both machines.
The difference you will see is over time. The gas tubes on this machine will not last a full year. Desintegrating plastic then goes into the carb and rest of the system and you're lucky if that's all you have to fix.
Configured as a string trimmer, mine weighs 15.8 pounds with full fuel. In my opinion, use of a carrying strap is necessary, not optional. Also, the 131R is 14.1 pounds, not that much less, but it makes a whole lot less than 2.7 hp.
My 31 cc hurts my arms. It's heavy. Switched to a 128 ld but will not discard the 31 cc because it's just to big a machine. Unless I can investigate this one.
Use a quality carrying harness, and don't be cheap about getting one. The Echo Brushcutter Harness is the best I've used. But in any case, improperly carrying ANY weight for a long time period can permanently cause back/arm/spinal injury.
Hello, I have the same brush cutter in the video. The manual says a 25:1 ratio. Runs good but the smoke is white coming out of the exhaust. 1.) are you saying that these cheap weed wackers usually have high oil ratios? 2.) is it true that the fuel ratios are just meant for emissions? Thanks!
I was disappointed, could not add comment on your 55 year old ash tree felling episode. You were right on could have used longer bar saw, and wedge cut out was little big. Ashes usually don't need wedging. But you had tricky fall, and direction achieved. Actually more interested in seeing video showing off the one or two best Ash trees you protected from EAB on your wild forested property. You got anymore with main trunk still alive? Just consider $20 worth of drench mix applied this weekend similar to fertilizing tree. To help bring back functionally extinct species using protected scattered wild seed masting trees in the woods. Once fatal danger from "infestation level" populations inevitably passes locally after 10-12 years, treatment no longer required to keep tree alive. Obviously option of treating your trees not to save money, as you fell and chunk out your own. But as a smart ash arborist proving to all those so called tree huggers and ecology conservationists, how so cheap & easy it was to reclaim life of iconic American Hardwood from killer Chinese bug hitching ride on crate of poorly manufactured goods.

@@leedslandscaping2991 But the Ryobi sweeper attachment works ONLY with the Ryobi (Home Depot) products. It cannot be adapted for use with this type of machine without considerable and serious re-design. Plus, the Ryobi is a light-medium duty tool, not a very heavy duty tool as is this model. If it COULD be somehow adapted, the much increased torque of this machines engine would probably damage/destroy the Ryobi sweeper.

I got excited about this, but can't find any in stock. Bummer
Nice set up
I bough the same one under the brand name of "Denzel"!
Its realy is a very well engineered trimmer/cutter.
But potential buyers be warned!!! This thing is heavy as hell! With fuel and everything is probably over 10kg! That's Stihl 880 teritory just for comparison!! My hands are still thingling(and its midnight now),after a few hours of sawing around my garden today!
You have been warned!
For occasional cut or trim the hedge it will be ok probably. But if you look for more than hour or two work... than this wouldnt cut it!(pun intended) 😁
Just shell the money for an Echo...
Can you take a look inside the auto feed strimmer head and let us know how to reload the nylon. The one I have has no holes in the spool to hold the line as you wrap the new stuff on. Cheers.
Just found your vid that strimmer was that good it nearly took it's self to do the job when you put it down was looking for one but must of stopped selling as link was a year ago as not working Shame looks good
I Just bought a 42.7 cc brush cutter under the coocheer name. Had a tough time getting it started out of the box but learned about the reverse choke from your video. I am wondering if you have been running 25-1 or 40-1 oil mix? I am using my standard 40-1 and it seems to run fine on this. Thanks for the excellent reviews.
fuel lines on these are trash, head and shield is fragile, but overall its great product.
Yes if I remember correctly I did have to replace the fuel lines on this machine. After that, it's a reliable beast!
Your supposed to take the little yellow thing off of the gas tank and it will flow a lot faster when pouring.
On the high-dollar Stihl or husky, you have THREE carb adj.screws...
1.)Low idle
2.)high speed
3.)idle set
In 27 years,I'd like to see if your new weed trimmer is still running like new like my Stihls are.
I agree the old Stihl trimmer, made from components manufactured in Germany, can last a very long time given proper maintenance. However, Stihl now acknowledges that the great majority of components used in the current generation of Stihl products, including trimmers, are acquired from "global sources". That usually means China/Asia.
@@philliplawerence5784 If this tells you where German quality is going, the Chinese bought BMW and most likely wind up merging with KIA!!.HAHA!!.
Whats the make and model..n dies it come with a harness..for shoulder support
I forget the model number but it does come with the shoulder harness.
The speed feed has different adapters to fit different whips.
I turned the idle down abit on mine, they idle to hi from stock for my liking
Have the name/model/price/where to buy?
Will the trimmer head (including the shaft) fits on STIHL KM 90 R gas trimmer?
How does it do working? Like to see how it does.
Where can I get one of this to buy
I use a still fs100rx but dang that thing is a beast I will look into getting one
Whats the brand where can you find
I can’t remove the cap to add string to it.
Just ordered myself one of these 👍🏼
Where at and what brand
Close your eyes it's an Echo!
Not quite, I got one of those and they are heavy as sin. In China, they use the same engines to power their scooters, if that means anything to you.
Wrong, it's not even close to being an Echo/Shindaiwa trimmer, which by the way are one and the same. It's somewhat based on an old Mitsubishi engine design, but over the years it has been improved to where now, it shows much design and reliability improvement.
@@philliplawerence5784 I would agree, it appears to be the "Chinese" copy of the Mitsubishi TL52 engine .
Does anyone know where to find a service manual for this type of engine ? I searched the internet but but with no luck. Thanks.
Hello how is it running now please upload another video I'm thinking about purchasing one myself thanks for sharing
Can you or someone tell me the width of the tube of the attachments so I can see if an attachment I have would fit if I get one.
The cutter shuts down when i put the choke to OFF. Is that normal?
Also lot of fuel consumption... how to fix that?
The choke is labeled incorrect on these machines. That's why it shuts off and uses so much fuel. It could be the carb is out of adjustment too.
so other than cheap fuel lines and cheap head has block and carb been good? do you have over 50 hours on it yet?thanks
Is 31cc strong engine for thick and strong bushes ?
It will be a slow process but will do it.
@@Lanninglongarmmowing is the 51cc much difference with the power?
Yeah this thing is a beast. It's a bit on the heavy side though.
@@Lanninglongarmmowing how much cc is this and cycles?
@@dr.einstein. It's either 52cc or 62cc and it's a 2 stroke.
Nice
What do you think about venor 6 in 1 or the 5 in 1
@@bobojorcas2462 Probably pretty good. This tool can do a lot of things.
That really looks like a good machine.
The difference you will see is over time. The gas tubes on this machine will not last a full year. Desintegrating plastic then goes into the carb and rest of the system and you're lucky if that's all you have to fix.
Finding a good source for decent fuel line shouldn't be too hard to find.
52cc! That thing must weigh a TON! The Stihl KM131R is only 36.3 cc.
It does, I did some research after I bought this and they use this same engine in the the power scooters in China. But it is a beast.
Configured as a string trimmer, mine weighs 15.8 pounds with full fuel. In my opinion, use of a carrying strap is necessary, not optional. Also, the 131R is 14.1 pounds, not that much less, but it makes a whole lot less than 2.7 hp.
@@philliplawerence5784 I don't really use mine any more since I bought my Stihl Kombi system. I still use it for the chain saw attachment.
I am betting that it recommends a 25 to 1 gas/oil mixture.
Yeah, I run 40 to 1 with no issues.
Hello,
I have the same brush cutter in the video. The manual says a 25:1 ratio.
Runs good but the smoke is white coming out of the exhaust.
1.) are you saying that these cheap weed wackers usually have high oil ratios?
2.) is it true that the fuel ratios are just meant for emissions?
Thanks!
End caps stops rods coming out, I'm having trouble finding the oil filter
This is two-stroke trimmer,so it dont have oil filter at all! (If that's your question?)

20:50 Can't see from the video because fingers were covering it. Is the internal shaft SQUARE or SPLINE?
Spline.
Is it still working good and would you recommend it
what piece of equipment was the speed feed 450 originally bought for? I'd like to get one.

It's unbranded.
If anyone finds a sweeper attachment, I'd like to know
The Ryobi Power Sweeper does great
@@leedslandscaping2991 But the Ryobi sweeper attachment works ONLY with the Ryobi (Home Depot) products.
