Is this the only printer you can use to make the cards?

You can use any printer that is able to print on disk. You just need the adapter card tray. The link in the description area will show you the adapters and compatible printers. I hope this helps.

when i print on mx922 only thing comes out on the card is the red lines in the template

This is a great video.. thank you for sharing. My issue is that my project is not lining up with the canon. My project is not printing aligned on the card. Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong? Also I am brand new to Silhoutte and the canon printer. Your video is the first thing I tried with both.. lol

I resize my workspace to be the size of the template and center the template
