I've looked at dozens of these "Girl gets a car" videos. Surprising that so many end up with them showing a bit of emotion.... and not even a hug for the person who gave it to them. DNA?
South Asian girls are so lucky because they get everything from their parents. One of my friends got a brand new Mini Cooper Roadster (Convertible) as her grad present too. I mean as for my self, I had to work so hard for years to get an 3G Eclipse Spyder! Anyways good on her. I'm happy she has such a nice family!
T.O. D3S1 well most Asian parents do an outstanding job giving their child excessive amounts encouragement (punishing most of the time) towards school for their child's own benefit for their future. I for one am an Asian and i can't say that i don't get enough or anything... but if you think about it, Asian parents dedicate a lot when they let go of their child (my sister got a new car when she left home to get a job), but from personal and 3rd person view, we don't get much when we are a child. My birthday presents are usually 25-75$ every year and Christmas even worse. Some years... i don't even care if it's my birthday or not and i rarely get any excessive presents when its not a holiday. I saved up for my own pc ... Also, every Asians I know, their parents don't say, "oh, its OK as long as you tried your very best" or "try harder next time", they don't give many chances (except a couple). The punish thing really gets into your head because especially in Asia and Mediterranean countries, punishing their children physically and verbally is not rare. Sometimes when I get punished, its almost like I'm getting bullied, but its kinda obvious that their doing it for my own benefit. So overall what I'm saying (even though this is all mumble jumbled) is that Asians are not spoiled! And I just realized this sounds really racist... Its not ment to be, just to lazy to fix it and stuff
bryan park You're right, but the thing is I'm a South Asian guy my self, I never had these sort of luxury from parents compared to sisters. I remember I got 65% in math once and my dad just slapped me really hard when I was in Grade 7. I had to dedicate a lot to get things for my self. From my 1st ever MP3 player to my first car. As for girls, it's the other way around. They get everything. You could call me whining but for me it looks like girls get a lot of luxury that us guys don't.
+bryan park it's also because Indian parents invest in land from India. instead of spending the plot money, they save it for their kids college fund. if their kid does good and gets a scholarship, the parents will finnaly be able to spend the money on whatever. if you don't get a scholarship you are stuck with a used prius
