I love your stories and hearing about the actors that you knew. It really feels so good to declutter.! Your octopus is adorable! I have a sewing machine I've had for years, but haven't sewed much and would love to learn more! Maybe one day... Love you!
I am new to your channel and have enjoyed your videos. What a blessed life. This is so encouraging for me. Thanks for sharing. I do agree, it's hard to purge things and get organized sometimes. I have many of my parent's things, as I just couldn't part with these things that reminded me of them and my childhood.
I'm the same way. One of my brothers has some sentimentality and has some stuff, but I am the keeper of most of it. Welcome and I hope you enjoy my varied content! Check out my playlists from my home page. There are many.
Ms. Kaye, you have a vault full of fascinating stories. Is there anything you can’t do? You are so talented in all areas. Perhaps one day you can share some of your photographic work and explain the lighting or how you developed it? I too, have a liking to photography. Back in the 1990s, Ansel Adam was my favorite.
He was a great photographer. I should do one, I'll think about it. The problem is, I don't get many views on these videos. Low views, low ad income. But I do enjoy sharing.
I have to say you are a beautiful person sharing all those stories. Totally enjoyed them and thank you! Hope your having a grand Saturday! I love the documentary of your life, very personal .. good historical record of you life as well. Thank you again for sharing I realize you didn’t have too! Blessings to you always! Much love! 🌻♥️🌹
Thank you for this story time. I had to pause you and grab a cuppa tea! Speaking of getting organized after moving, I'm in the same boat! I moved into my current house with my new husband in 2016, and I just recently started getting it organized. He didn't want pictures or curtains hung as it meant putting holes in the walls! There are more things we disagreed on, but rather keep this short. I hope you keep telling stories as I will be listening to them all!
Thanks so much! Please share with a few friends. YT doesn't recommend off-gardening videos (low views, low ad income), and I really enjoy storytelling. It's an extension of acting, which I don't get to do anymore.
I was a small-time wildlife photographer and blogger on wordpress 2-3X weekly for a few years when we lived on the Cumberland Plateau near lakes and ponds and then again in Florida for a few years. I decided to not continue here in my area of Arizona just because there are not many critters around (other than grasshoppers!) in my immediate neighborhood. We even have very few birdies here. Was a lot of fun though even as I was a rank beginner of a digital photographer with my Sigma Zoom 200-500mm lens. I say good for you Kaye about getting your home to the comfort and joy that you deserve and want!
I've done a couple cross-country moves...it's bonkers! Just the thought of it makes my palms start to turn cold. Your things from the kids are treasures!
As a military brat and spouse I moved a lot as well it was a lot 😮. Even now, I sometimes go through the kids photos, awards, etc. and it just fills me up.
Somehow I know you'll bring it all together perfectly and just the way you like it. There is something very special about you young lady that I can't even put in words how you make me feel everytime you smile. I just love everything about you. God bless you. You make everything better Miss Kaye. There is no one as beautiful as you. You're the only time I miss the hug of a good woman. I would give anything.
Hello dear Kaye, I love the memories of Angela and Malachi. I am hand addressing some envelopes for a project tonight, and your story video caught my eye. I enjoyed so much! Enjoy this winter season of sorting and organizing.
Loved your stories! Going through things was a necessity for me. We have moved five times during my husband's career and with every move, there was a sorting a streamlining process. At this point, as retirees, we have the things we want, the things that matter, and the things we need. That's it...and it is liberating! There will be yet another move, eventually, when we're REALLY old and need to downsize our residence. Three years ago, I compiled two, extra-large, zipper binders with both of our family's genealogies, detailed back to the late 1600s. (old and contemporary photos stored on external hard drives). Heirlooms have been kept - the "things that matter".
Kaye, I hope you do knitting videos. I’ve never knitted anything more than dish clothes, and blankets. After listening to you I want to knit sweaters. That was my motivator after watching the movie The Last Mimsy. The little girl had the cutest sweater on. Please share more stories.
I will do a few but they don't get many views as the topic is outside of gardening. Unfortunately for me as I am interested in so many things. But, the people who do best on YT focus on one thing.
I’m catching up on my Kaye! This reminds me what I love the most about you. The simple things in life is what truly make us happy. The cards at the end made by Walker! I’m crying! I have a box of those things from my children. Lovely lovely video! Have you done something showing your photography portfolio? I would love to see it.
No, i was going to, but 1) ran out of winter 2) I didn't get very many views on any of these type videos, like my vintage buttons, for example. Very disappointing. Thank you!
My mother kept everything also. When my sisters and I went through her things there was so much stuff! But they were her memories. We didn't know the significance of about half of it. As we are also sentimental, we had to just say, "They were her memories, not ours. We can let them go."
after our recent move i have noticed all the stuff we brought with us and where to put it all. it sure is a process. i also had a lot of artwork and put up some of it yesterday. i am also the keeper of family history and not sure if my son or nieces will ever be interested
Thank you for bringing us along while you went through your many mementos … I love that your room looks lived in. The sterility of our family home, which always looked like a hotel room BEFORE someone checked in, is not a good way to live. Your place is lovely! ✌🏻+ ♥ from Maryland!
Hahaha, oh I know exactly what you mean, haha. Well, I'm glad you forgive this mess. It will take all winter to get organized. If I do. Much love. PS My mother's house was always perfect UNTIL you looked in her closets or drawers.
@@Latebloomershow that comment brought me back to living with a roommate one year. If anyone was coming over, she would shove anything & everything into drawers & closets, oftentimes not where the item was supposed to go. I once found a work sweater (navy blue with AA logo on it, American Airlines) in the silverware drawer of our dining room buffet! 🤭
Kaye, I feel the world changing, too. My great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents all noticed changes. Some are comfortable because they fit in the paradigm of a specific generation, while other changes don't coordinate well with our setpoint or the image of the "world-as-it-should-be" based on our idea of normal. As a teacher, in some ways I'm have a front row seat of what's to come. I have the honor of learning from people and they from me. Let's together negotiate our future rather than repeal what at least initially feels uncomfortable or in contrast to our world view. This said, it is not easy...but grow we must. Create logical arguments for our position(s) and view(s). The halcyon days are past; they were, I hope, lovely and precious memories for each of us. Now let's more fully engage with the concrete and current diverse (in age, culture, etc.) society that we do live in.✌
I’m very SENTIMENTAL TOO! I love other peoples stories !! I have to start getting rid of things too. Not too many in my family will care about photos if people they don’t know ! My youngest granddaughter shared the love of tea and she will take a lot of my tea cups and teapots 🫖!
I get it ..every winter involves getting ready for the next season and involves baking for the next season and cleaning inside the house. I spent all last winter going through my daughters things. I have all of her art and don't know what to do with it . She went to Parsons School of Design in NYC .. In 2011 ,I had my husbands and his parents belongings to deal with.We had many purging bonfires.. Saw you again as a post office clerk on Berker the other night!.
I literally paused the video and went and made a cup of chamomile tea to sit down with you and listen to your storytime. 🙂 I do want to know about what appears to be a prize potted rose bush in the window of your office? What rose is it?
Haha, that is the cranberry hibiscus I raised. No roses here. Deer love roses, a losing battle. This will go out in the yard when the weather is nice and hope to get flowers and seed this year.
@@Latebloomershow Well, I'll be ding dang! Guess it's true what they say, "There's no fool like an old fool!" That cranberry hibiscus sure looked like a rose bush to me! LOL Ya gonna make hibiscus tea with it if it blooms?
