Reiss is very talented so I am happy as a Barcelona fan - there are some players I follow closely on Arsenal like their captain for 7 years now. They would not sign Reiss long term unless their scouts are confident about his overall player development and progression
But the scouting on the Chelsea player Mudryk has been really poor since he was about to join Arsenal as well - I evaluated him in the last season CL games which did not convince me at all concerning top level performances vs top teams.
If arteta signs players from city again in this it will be evident he is more interested in gaining allies than building to compete for the next 5 years.
If he wants to win now he has to replace Jesus and get a prolific clinical striker. Calciedo needs to be the first addition for me. I would not want to miss out on another potential Kante.
Reiss Nelson is fantastic for Arsenal. He's been sensational this season.

Tbh, I'd like to see Reiss play more. I'm optimistic that he's actually really good when he's in form otherwise why else would he have gone up the ranks from being an academy player to first team like he has...I just don't think we've seen enough of him playing in this current arsenal squad to make clear statements like "get rid"
I'd argue he creates more chaos than Jesus and his dribbling is on par with Saka, I just don't understand why he's not getting the minutes (maybe it's his finishing or link up play, I don't know)
I like Nelson. He changes games when he comes on. Great control, great attacking player, great shot...I think if Arteta rotates the squad better, he'll be a Foden-type of impact player off the bench, with a few starts to keep him sharp. I like the signing.

A new deal I think is better than Nelson leaving for free but we need to be upgrading in those positions with people who can push the established attacking players

The academy players recognize that you need to continue to fight for a starting position and can be rewarded for this work ethic. This can help recruit the youth through the club and Arteta will get the best from him. We want players who bleed Arsenal red through and through. I think we still need an Osihmen type signing as CL will take a toll on the ranks moving forward.
Why Kate, Reece Nelson? Whenever one argues that the star boys tired this season if you trusted Reece Nelson so much he would’ve come on last 20 minutes in Los Gatos to rest the right winger. I need clearly scored goals. He won’t even Ross. I didn’t know if this season why give him a four-year deal
Whether Nelson signed a deal or not - we still need someone who can fill in at RW - Nelson is better at LW and can be rotated with Martinelli and compete with him - Trossard has been better as a fluid CF so i would rather Nelson be the LW backup option and Trossard as the CF backup/competing option.

About Reiss Nelson, as long as he stays on normal wages, that's a good move for everyone involved.
He's been good coming from the bench & he will keep his market value or even improve it, having the English premium, & could become the next big sale a couple of years down the line like Willock or Iwobi.
We also can focus the Summer transfer budget on the humongous signings of Rice, possibly Caceido + the full back replacements.
Maybe we'd even go for a striker option of a different style than Jesus/Nketiah, after cashing in on Balogun.
So yeah, happy with the move as long as we don't overpay him. 👍
Agree Chelsea need to clear out 15 players but they also need to add a dm, no 9 and goal keeper. if they don't do that at the same time the choice picks will go. Rice, caicedo and lavia will all be gone before pre season.
Nelson is a backup and he can be a quality squad player. We can move him on once we fix other positions.
Nelsons value secured, big talent, give him another season to prove himself, were in 4 comps so there are opportunities for him, if not sell with 3years left

If you have a number of big suitors around Europe, would you really go to Chelsea now, given their disarray, policy of buying up anybody who flutters their eyelashes at the club and lack of strategy.
Perhaps in a year's time it will be different and the ship will be steadier but I wouldn't bet my career on it if I was an up and coming footballer.
Reiss Nelson has played very well when given a chance. It's just that Arteta seems very reluctant to give many chances to the fringe players.

Personally really happy with the Nelson deal, I think he’s brilliant and has looked sharp every time he has come on. For me it’s a shame that he hasn’t featured more this season as there were games where we could have rotated and started Nelson over Saka. I’m hoping to see this more next season though.

@@sosolawson6587 Thing is you can't fix the whole squad in one season. Do you want a Xhaka replace and a party backup or to let Nelson go for Free and get a backup to Saka. The smart play is to tie him down and he is getting better each year IMO he will breakout next year and be one of the few that will always come off the bench if he isn't starting. Can always sell him in a year and get 30m for him rather than for free.

Wait till City get linked with one player and you'll see the outrage. So it's not that people are against spending, people are against spending if they know you're a good spender because now they're thinking "flip, thought we'd get closer to them and now they've just moved further ahead" that's what people are scared of
I guess Everyone was quiet when Liverpool bought Alisson, van dyke. Chelsea have spent a lot without direction but we never had a proper scouting system until now.

I like Nelson but they do need someone better. There are bigger priorities this summer though and there are only so many signings arsenal can make. I think he will be moved on next year when we can go in for a new winger.

Reiss new deal makes sense... we need back up for our forward players, but not as much as we need to refresh the midfield. New contract for Reiss means we can focus the money on the midfield and hopefully a CB to replace Holding.

I guess this summer isn’t the time to reinforce in that position. So many positions we need to fill and Nelson has shown promise when he has had he chances. CM, CB, RB, CAM there will be all new arrivals. The spine needs refreshing and reinforcing before we get to an ageing midfield like liverpool. Xhaka, Jorgi, partey won’t have the legs in 1-2 seasons
