- Bulking this trunk isn't necessarily easy... but neither is the install of this kit! Let's take a look at how the installation of this 2 piece Paint Protection Film kit goes, as well as the finished install. This kit is cut out using CORE. Learn how to get a tight seam and some tips and tricks to installing this PPF kit. This is my first time installing a 2 piece kit on a Tesla. I always bulk them in one piece. Lets see what's involved and things to look out for.
It's taken years to perfect our installs, and we'd like to share this knowledge with everyone.
My name is Brent and I have been an automotive window tinter since 1998 and have been installing paint protection film since 2004. In 1998 I took a 5 day class to learn the basics of window tinting. Then I started tinting cars and learning as I went. In 2004 I bought a roll of paint protection film (clear bra by 3m) and taught myself how to install it. I am now the Owner of ENCORE Window Tinting and Paint Protection Film in Stockton, CA.

Great video! I've yet too do a full body tesla so havn't gotten to the hatch yet. Got a full front Model Y next week!
Thank you! 😁 The hatch is definitely the toughest part of the vehicle. Are you going to use a kit, or bulk it? Have you pulled the cameras or plastic fender flairs on the Model Y before? I'm going to post a video soon on how to remove the cameras.
@@EncorePPFtint kits from Core for sure! I am planning to remove the hood emblem (ordered that tool you recommended to line up the replacement) and also the plastic fender flares. Do you extend the fender pattern then into the wheel well more ore does the Core one get into it enough? I haven't removed the cameras before so would love to see the video! The last model 3 I did I ended up with a bit of debris under the camera since I left them on.
Definitely hit those cameras with a pressure washer or flush them out with a spay bottle really well. You will need to extend the fender pattern and bumper pattern to have them go behind/under the fender flairs.
@@EncorePPFtint this model Y is white so I may remove the cameras too so there’s not as many exposed edges. If you’re video for that is up by Tuesday I’ll check it out! 😂
Great Vid, Appreciate your content!
Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated! 😁 Are you a PPF installer, or are you just getting started?
@@EncorePPFtint I have tinted for 15+ years. I am currently opening my own location and want to offer ppf. So naturally I'm consuming all the content I can, and I come across you channel often.
It's a fairly smooth transition into PPF for a tinter. I now prefer PPF over tint. 🤣 PPF uses my brain a bit. I can multi-task tint all day. 😁👍🏻Other than those tiny corner windows on the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. 🤦🏻♂️

Great video! Was wondering if you could show us how to wrap all edges for example where the bumper meets the guards for most cars without the film lifting? This helps with doing stealth conversions and avoiding all possible gloss showing through.
I can definitely see what I can do. I'm not fully understand what the "gaurds" are. Would you mind explaining that to br a little better? 👍🏻
What sprayers are you using?

Why do people say "go ahead".
What do you mean? Did I say that?
Stop making videos! I’m trying to eat tacos!
I was wondering where you
Had gone off to.
I figured a taco coma 🤣
