It's painful how everyone only takes home "a woman should be submissive" but nothing about the husband reciprocating love(which involves respect, care, good treatment, not being battered, support/encouragement....). This relationship is not conditional but it's symboitic.

Read Ephesians 5, it clearly shows that wives submit to their husbands first! Then follows with husbands loving their wives and this love is expressed through them perfecting their wives by the Word of God.
The scripture instructs wives to submit just as the church is to submit to Christ. Our submission to Christ is not proportional, we are to submit wholly FIRST! And allow ourselves to be Perfected in the word. We are not to grade christ and submit incremental depending on how well we deem he performs.

My Sister.. May I submit that a lot of times we as women marry the wrong man! Did God tell you to marry this man? Was there confirmation that this man is your husband? Some times we bring pain upon ourselves because we do not seek God in whom to marry. If half of the women asked God if this is my husband, some would not be experiencing what they are! Why, some women don't ask God? Because we don't want to hear God say "No". We say oh he is so handsome. Oh he is rich. Oh he has a nice physique. Oh he is so smart. We tell God who we want to marry. Instead of allowing God to tell us who to marry. So God allows us to marry whomever we want, then after marriage the true colors come out. You made the choice, therefore God is not obligated to something He did not give approval on!! For example, let's say you have $5 in one fist. Your second fist contains $10. Your child comes up and he chooses which fist he wants you to open. Your child chooses the hand with the $5. Now, he could have chosen the other hand but he decided on his own which hand to choose. You show your child that there was $10 in the other hand. But it's too late because he chose the $5 hand. Who's fault is that? You can not make a decision, not consult God for guidance and say Lord bless my marriage! No, he will say I did not tell you to marry him in the first place. We must be wise my Sisters! We must seek God. Why? Because God knows that man you like is a cheater. God knows that man you like or imare in love with a liar. God knows that man you want sooooo bad will be a womanizer. God knows that man will be a gambler. But you did not ask him. As I speak, I am seeking God's confirmation on a man whom I feel is my husband. Why? Because God is way more smarter than I. God can see things that I can not see. God can see 25 years down the road what life will be like. How many times have I heard the word No! This is not the one! I obeyed what was told unto me. I can tell you as sure as day. If I had married this one guy whom I 'thought'was a good catch, he would have killed me. Why? God allowed me to see that he had a problem with his temper. Yes, he was in the church. Yes, he even taught Sunday School. But, the answer was NO because he had a temper! Now if I had married him anyways, whatever may have transpired would have been my fault. Why? Because I was told No. Lord help you all who don't even bother with asking God's direction! Just giving you all something to think about..... 🤔 Love you all but we must take responsibility for our actions..... If God says NO its for a reason! Lord help you if you don't even bother to ask! 💝💖

This is one of the most profound messages I have ever heard on marriage. Is as if this man of God just spoke my entire mind. I see women, people we look up to as mothers do certain things to their husbands and it's hurt to know that there is nothing to learn from these our Mamas. What an error Hmmm!! I agree a woman should submit and respect her husband as unto the Lord. In the same way I believe a man should cherish and love his wife.
The problem with most African preaching is that, we emphasize on the woman's responsibilities so often and leave out the responsibility of the man, who is the head of the home. If the truth be told, the head of the family have huge responsibility. For the most part I will blame men for broken homes the same way we blame the president of companies when a company fails. A man must set the tone at the top and walk according to what God commands in His word. A woman who is well loved and well taken care of will automatically submit, respect and cherish her husband, unless she is simply an ungrateful person by nature.
Most of the problem is that, women are overworked in their homes and their emotional needs are not been met. If only our African men will be taught how to love and cherish a woman, we will not be having issues with women submitting. I'm not saying woman must wait for their husbands to treat them right before doing what God says...I.e. to respect a man, but I would like us to deal with the root cause of most of these problems.
In this day and age, there are some women serving as the breadwinner in their homes. They struggle to juggle the wellbeing of their families, while their husbands lazy about and chase other women behind their back. Women are very emotional and these kinds of bad experiences including abusive relationship can be very crippling for a woman. If we take our time to analyze we will notice the "disrespect " some women show is simply a cry for help. I've seen good women...submissive and all turn into monsters because of bad marriage.
I think it's high time we trained our boys well enough to know how to cherish and love their wives in future. After all, girls are always socialized to get ready for marriage in future that is why cooking, cleaning and keeping a home are emphasized. My question is, how are we socializing our boys and young men? Who is preparing them for the responsibility of a husband. Are we making them feel entitled of respect and submission in marriage, with no lessons on their responsibility to lead, provide and protect a home?

@Roseline asante you are spot on, any man that does not love or sacrifice for the wife does not deserve respect. Some men are lazy and treat their wife as a slave. Submit to one another is the first command. Some preachers twist the scriptures to favour themselves and men.
@@gabbylonministries7302 one size does not fit all. Some men are lazy, any man that does not provide is worse than an unbeliever. Balance your preaching. Any woman that is a breadwinner while the husband sits on his ass is a hero. She is the one that deserves the respect. Unless that man is genuinely sick or disabled. African preachers are something else. Always twisting scriptures and making women lives hell and making women feel it is normal.

Titus 2:3, 4 - "Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teachers of good. 4In this way they can train the young women to love their husbands and children". I have heard this teaching before that nowhere in the Bible does it say that wives should love there husbands. But the bible does tell us to love our husbands as you can see in Titus 2: 3, 4. God is Love. Love your neighbor as yourself. We can do so many things but if we have not love we have nothing....Appreciate the message still though

There is no mistake in what Apostle said, the context in which he said it is true and correct. The context in Titus 2vs4 is wide and hinges on Titus 2vs5, that buttresses what Apostle is saying.
God that made man said repeatedly to the woman that her husband should be honoured and respected because God knows the man perceives that (and not affection) as love.
@@SoaringDaily Without the Holy Spirit inside of you controlling you you can never love God's kind of love or submission, you can only pretend of having and doing it. Whatever you want to do with your own 5 senses and ability without having Holy Spirit in you to do all things, the end is always destructive (John 16:13). Any marriage that is lacking the Holy Spirit is not recognized in Heaven because who will be the controller of the marriage, God or devil? because the bible says those that are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. Any marriage that's not led by the Holy Spirit is not of God, people might argue that it is but fact has no feelings. A lot of evil spirit possessed husband and wife that have love and submission which is not of God but because of the evil oath they have taken in their shrine. Anything that's not involved and led by the Holy Spirit of God is diabolic and evil no matter how people love it or put or praise it. The first thing we need as genuine Christians to run our marriage successfully and to be recognized in Heaven is the Holy Spirit, to have the word is not enough because there are alot of divorces in the church of God today. The Holy Spirit is the number one thing to have as a serious and genuine Christian so that He will lead you in all things not only in your marriage but in all things till eternity where you will stay forever with your creator. Don't allow anything to take your eternity from you. Stay Blessed. Jesus loves you.
