The Russian style of mass force has probably been hindered by Spring conditions, as muddy fields force them to use roads. Being concentrated on roads makes them more susceptible to attack. As Summer approaches the mass may be spread more broadly and be more difficult to defend against. Better weaponry for the Ukrainians may now be critical.
They need to be able to supply a broader front and Russia has shown no ability to do this. They seem to only be able to supply a very narrow offensive. If the Russians leave their artillery umbrella they get smoked and artillery umbrellas are small and supply heavy.

This is a war of machines. Humans are cheap when it comes to war. Russia has had to bring out the T-62s instead of making newer and better weapons. I believe Russia's logistics is even worse than it was three months ago. Russia has to hug those rail lines till the lines get shot up.
