  • In this episode we'll continue developing our MIDI-controlled LED strips, this time setting up the entire strip and playing around with the FastLED library.
    No MIDI for now, we'll be adding it back in during the next episode.

      Oh yeah something like this is prefect for syncing with your MIDI controller! Do you use a DAW? The latest version of MAINFRAME (releasing soon) uses USB so perfect with a DAW, but a 5-pin version is coming sometime this year

    Can you share the code please?
    I would really like to try it, because I am finding midi reactive rgb LEDs so this might help and work.

      Sure, just need to clean up the code a bit first though. I've been thinking of adding everything to a Github repo

      @@SyntheticState do you have a github repo with the code? I would love to play around with this. Keep up the awesome work man! Love this project

    Is there a simple way to plug midi signals into a video to control LED lights while the video (audio) plays? I'm a developer but I don't even know where to start with all this LOL

    • @SyntheticState
      @SyntheticState  Před 2 lety +1

      Good question! That would be cool, even I'd want to try something similar to improve my own videos.
      A good automatic solution doesn't seem to exist (just did some searching around), but I found this:
      www.ableton.com/en/manual/working-with-video/
      Maybe you can try Ableton's automatic audio to midi tool? Or manually add midi notes so the lights correspond with the video, then play both at the same time.

      @SyntheticState  Před 2 lety +1

      But this assumes you have a midi to LED tool like MAINFRAME.. If you have DMX based lights then maybe software like QLab is worth checking out

      @@SyntheticState I have a buddy with a DMX system and while it might be costly I’d love to try this out sometime. Controlling both DMX and LED simultaneously would be the ultimate end goal lol
