Some years ago I attempted to change a rooflight on my Swift caravan. However, I quickly abandoned the idea as I couldn't make any impression on the old mastic. I also had no confidence in climbing on to the caravan roof. Fast-forward I've just replaced the rear rooflight on my Hobby 750 moho after watching Dave's videos. Kitchen knife, genius. I used white spirit to remove the residual mastic after scraping most of it away. I also never doubted that the moho roof would take my 14st. Straightforward one man 2 hour job. Thanks Dave.

Thanks - this video and part 2 really helped me change rooflights in a 22 year old Autosleeper. Job went really well, so glad I watched your videos.

TIP:- Use B&Q own brand Paint Brush Cleaner on old mastic A) It helps soften for removal B) Clears up stuck down remnants. I place in a spray bottle to use.

Hi Dave you don’t mention the roof thickness ? Can you please tell me are there different roof thickness models available? As some caravans and Motorhomes must have different thickness roofs? My Motorhome is a German made Eura Mobil Integra 810 HB. Do you know what particular manufacturer roof light would be the correct one to use to replace my broken one ? Thanks

Is there a clear opening one available, which is affordable, to replace my RV shower rectangular dome skylight which doesn't open. I mean the one directly above the shower which is in many RVs. Thanks

Are all roof lights a standard size?

  • @howoldareyoujimmyffs8886

Why did you replace the whole thing and not just the cover?
