First Sail to the Channel Islands - Poole to Alderney and Guernsey

Our first ever attempt to cross the Channel didnt end well but persitance pays as we finally cross to Alderney and Guernsey on Kimara, our Beneteau 323.

Fantatsic trip! I am planning my own channel island adventure this summer so great to see some of the pilotage for real. I was half thinking of heading to Cherbourg first rather than a narrower tidal window at Bray, but you seem to have timed things beautifully!

Thanks - It wasnt quite as scary as we'd imagined but preparation definitely helped. I think we'll try Cherbourg this coming year as well. Fair winds

Hi - we used the North Brittany and Channel Islands Crusing Companion by Peter and Jane Cumberlidge. It seems to be the main authority for this section. Thanks a lot for the feedback.
