Tbf you can see why there's hate towards Pop Punk. In a sense, it is kinda punk-ish to go against Punk and be huge (i.e. Green Day, blink-182, Sum 41, etc) but it does beat the purpose of what Punk is supposed to be

In each of these lists “The Toy Dolls” are always missing. Most underrated band ever in my opinion.
Heard them on Marky Ramone's channel and just they were pretty good.
Saw them in 1984 at Perkin's Plalace. They played so fast that when we listened to Dig That Groove Baby on the way home, we thought the tape player was broken because it sounded slow.
Please for all the people hating on Green Day, as I watch this channel more and more can tell they are also not only focusing one genre but sub genres. Yes Green Day is not Punk but they are pop punk. That is a sub genre of punk. Have some sense before you blast on a band who has been around probably longer then you have been born. This channel likes to branch out in sub genres and I think that’s very responsible and that shows that the creators of this channel have a open mind and that’s what makes anything about Rock and Metal amazing. Having an open mind. So please use your brain before you speak

it doesn't matter how "overrated" you think one band is, you can't deny that each of the bands on this list had a lasting effect on the punk scene. hell, sex pistols and ramones are like the fathers of punk, so they deserve the spots where they are. it really doesn't matter if you dislike the band. you can't deny the influence that each band on this last had.

Green Day is awsome but there debut album to Nimrod/ Insomniac, I can't remember which one was released first, was punk, American Idiot and the albums following are pop punk

Greenday is so talented but they forgot the message of the original Punk movement. Punk is Libertarian. It is as close to anarchy as you can get. It is a leave me alone attitude. Greenday plays a modern big government, world government attitude. That is Anti-punk. Even the older punkers are not fond of the message of the new punk bands.

As a fan of punk, this is a pretty impressive list although missing The Offspring.
The Dead Boys, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers, The Damned and Stiff Little Fingers should be on this list.

So much this! The Dead Boys and Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers are the bands I've seen the most, over 50 times for the Dead Boys because "all this and more little girl" wasn't just a song lyric for me 😂😎

Living_in_dystopia D.R.I. was a hardcore punk band who became crossover - they didn't become full-on thrash metal until their 4th or 5th album. And even then, the vocals and drumming style were always more punk than metal.

Green Day is a great band listen to their early stuff it's great. They are popular because they make good music. They deserve their popularity because they worked hard for it, at least respect them for that.
