I have several of these beauties. They require patience. Just pre heat well, 2 times is even better. In that time, the pressure release valve is OPEN. Just before the alcohol burns off for the second time, close the valve and start pumping. In the video it looks like the stove isn't pre-heating long enough and when you started pumping, it just spewed liquid kerosine. Replacing the seals under the 'lipstick' and in the tank cap will help with retaining the pressure for sure.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!

Thanks greatly brother. Your diagnosis is mostly correct, it was spitting out fuel that was not vaporized because like you said, it needed pre-heated longer...I got anxious I guess. The seal on the fill cap was dry rotted and broken. The seals on the burner probably could have been doubled up and tightened down and been good to go but I went ahead and ordered replacements just to be safe. It's 100 years old and deserved a tune up anyways. :) She's roaring back to life now and man am I pleased!

You definitely want to get yourself a pricker for the jet. I got an old Juwel stove up and running many years ago and found that the starting process can really foul the jet and prevent you from getting a clean well running flame.

The right pricker made all the difference! As I received it, it had a small nail that kinda worked but was not ideal. Thanks my friend!

I think the back check in the pump needs rebuilt. If you watch the pump rises back up after you push it in. I have a Optimus stove like that.

Thank you! It works now, I believe the check valve was having some issues. I'll put out another video showing what I did to get it going.

I use them 57 years ago I have none now but I do have an iron that works the same way.
I don’t know if you call them irons. Smoothing irons for clothes.

That's cool! I'm still waiting to find one in good useable shape for a good price. Half the fun is in the hunt! Have you used yours to iron anything successfully? How worried are you about getting too hot?

Hmmm...are you sure it's very bright trying to light a stove that could have a leak? If the stove is new to you why take a chance without checking? Can you say fireball?

I would say the pump as I would think the seal by the baseleaking would start burning there. No offense to the person that attached the legs but they should be removed and soldered on better. I have made the mistake and used epoxy weld and it didn't turn out well and leaked. Solder is so much cleaner.

the legs being as they are is probably the reason I was able to get it so cheap, lol. It's no beauty queen but I kinda like it because of the character and story it may carry.
