They are the best rock band in the world today, man or woman. They can take different genres of music and put them in the same song and it works. The way they change tempos during the songs. Picking it up or dropping it down. As well as the quality of the songs and musicianship. Is completely off the charts. You could do them for the next two weeks and not run out of songs. They are that good !
Try something live. You will be amazed at how good they are in every aspect.
Bandmaid has a lot of really , reALLY good songs. Wait until you hear Play (live), Dice, Don't Let Me Down, Real Existence, Oneset, Secret My Lips. They are good writers.

I feel very positive about Band Maid.
Their live versions are almost always better than the studio versions. I enjoy your reviews and commentaries from when you reviewed ZZ Top. Other Band Maid recommendations, “Freezer”, “Moratorium”, “Puzzle”, & “Play”, just for starters. I’ve been following Band Maid for 3-4 years and have yet to come across a dud song.

For amazing structured chaos, I like Blooming (MV), Puzzle (Live), YOLO (Live or MV) and Moratorium (Live, this actually leads directly into Puzzle Mentioned above). Also Secret My Lips (Live or MV).
For amazingly written instrumental - Onset (Live) and a perfectly written song - Daydreaming (Live has an extra piano intro by lead-guitarist Kanami over the MV).
Choose Me (Live at Zepp Tokyo 2018) has an extra Jazzy intro over the MV. My favorite version of that song. It’s also a good show case of how much fun and energy they still have at the end of a 2-hr, 26 song concert (2 hrs is their norm).
For fun on stage, Don’t you tell me (Live), turn me on (Live), Take Me Higher (Live), Freedom (Live). For fun (they formed an alter ego band for April Fool’s Day!), Secret Maiko Lips (MV) and Gion-Cho (MV).
For heavy, Rinne (MV), Moratorium (Live), the Non-fiction days (Live or MV), I cant live without you (Live), Dice (MV).
For something a little different, awkward (Live), Matchless Gum (Live).

As good as some of their videos are they're so much better live. Just a few suggestions would be, Turn Me On, Moratorium, Take Me Higher, Puzzle, Secret My Lips, Play, or Onset ( instrumental ). There's many more, but any of these would be a good start.

I'm almost scared to see lyrics in English. What if they're lousy lyricists, or what if the translation is bad? As long as it's in Japanese, that part doesn't matter, to me. Saiki could sing the phone book, and it would sound great.
Stephen Riggs The lyrics are quite good if you know japanese. But doesn't sound as good when translated. That's the problem when you translate different languages, there will always be certain meanings lost.
In fact, their lyrics are very good. Miku (rhy g) writes very thoughtful lyrics. But you will lose a lot of that certain Japanese nuance in the translation in a lot of their songs.
@@SMILELY995 In a manner of speaking but the real problem is idiomatic. The exact same Kan-ji symbols that read "get your ass up" can also be accurately translated lift your posterior skyward or just as accurately position your posterior higher. Now which one do you use when they are all accurate? Obviously, you must translate with the meaning and intent of the author. And sometimes that isn't known exactly.

I've been mentioning them and hounding you to do this group for a while. And it's very well appreciated India. They also have a couple of songs that they perform in traditional Japanese costumes. Sort of an April Fool's joke I think they did. They even change the name of their band for one day pulling IT Band Maiko. The one song is called Secret maiko lips. The original song is called Secret of my lips and Goncho.
Very true Charles, it was an April fools prank (with still good music of course).
For their songs, they brought out traditional Japanese instruments to create a festive and elegant Kyoto-inspired sense of style. The members wear maiko (apprentice geisha) outfits, and their lyrics are based on the Kyoto dialect.
They also changed their own names for Band-Maiko:
Miku Kobato→Hatoko
Saiki→Fujiki
Kanami→Kanoemi
MISA→Umemisa
Akane→Akatsuki
Two of the songs are Secret Maiko Lips and Gioncho.
Can't wait to see what they've got for next April fools ;)
@@Jonas_S_ Actually nothing. While two Band-Maiko songs were released on April first seven Band-Maiko songs were not released on April first. First 7 song mini album entitled Band-Maiko was released by Revolver Records on April 3rd last year. April Fool's day is not a thing in Japan.

Still waiting for you to kick out a bunch more songs by this phenomenal group. You could roll off probably close to two dozen more quality songs as good as this or better. But live is definitely where they are at. Please return to the band maid well ! Quality charismatically performed songs await you there !

as others probably already said : if you think they kick ass in music videos, you should definitely check out live performances .. hell .. even try to find a decent fan cam if you want to hear them "unmanipulated" :)

These girls sound amazing regardless of which song you choose, but the large majority of fans all agree they perform best when they're live. You should definitely choose a live performance for your next reaction, I'd suggest Onset if you want to hear a mind blowing instrumental song, or Moratorium if you want a good mix of vocals and instruments. Just search "Onset Live", or "Moratorium live" and the top result on CZcams should be the best version.

Aside from the lost in translation of idioms and such, Japanese doesn't really use pronouns much. So interpreting the subject of each line needs to be done by context, which every translation butchers. This song (roughly) is talking about the girl wants the guy, who is taking the relationship casually, to fall for her "first", but really she has already fallen for him (she says "I choose you" in English in the middle of the song). So I think the relationship started as a casual one on both sides. But now the girl is approaching the point of no return. So she will break it off before she falls completely, if the guy still hasn't reciprocated by then. And the last line of the song is "Don't hesitate and just choose me" in english.
Whoever is steering you to these is doing no service to these girls or you. They are a live band.
