- Colombia has always been on Scotty Laughland’s list. Then, one morning, while pulling a shot of espresso, he found himself curious as to where the very coffee he was about to drink came from, the process of creating it and the mountain bike scene there. And as with all of life’s mysteries, there’s only one way to discover more. We hope you enjoy ‘Taste of Colombia’, a story about bikes and coffee.

Thanks for visiting, taking the time to enjoy and learn. Killer mix of trails and fav beverage ☕️ 🚲 , well done!🎉
I'm a Colombian and I didn't know such trails existed here 😮
Thanks
Beautifully shot and edited. Great story with awesome riding as well. This would have taken a massive effort. Thanks and kudos to all involved!
Welcome to come and have the same experience we hosted for Scotty!❤
Its nice to watch this kind of video while drinking my coffee ☕️
We love Colombia! Isn't it amazing to see the full coffee process from plant to cup and all the people that make that possible? We had such a great experience riding through the coffee farms surrounding Manizales last year. We rode one of the same trails near the sugar plantation. Felt a bit different in the wet but it was a blast either way.
Q buen video mi madre hermosa Mirian
Wow! Colômbia! Um dos vídeos mais impressionantes que já assisti! 😍🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Hermoso! Coffee & Cycling, the best of Colombia!
Great video Shimano. When i was Child i used to pick up Coffee here in Costa Rica. Now as a grown man I keep on going to the Coffee plantations but this time with my bike to have fun on the trails.
Excelente video, se siente bien saber que se aporto para esta producción y fue un gusto tenerte en Santa Bárbara y Medellín, te esperamos de nuevo! Un abrazo

Sick!
At 6:42 you can see he's running a shimano mt200 brakes 😱
That bike is setup well 👌🏼
Great video. The bad thing it is the degraded forests left behind.
Rad video. What needs to happen, with the regards to the coffee is that Colombia needs to stop selling the raw materials in the form of green coffee to roasters abroad where they then cook it and brand it, marking it up 400-600%, where then all that value is lost for Colombian producers. Imagine if Colombian producers could capture all that value and not only re-invest it in their farms but put it back into the coffee growing communities? It only makes sense that Colombia and other producing countries, be it Guatemala, Mexico or the Democratice of Congo after thousands of hours of planting, caring for and harvesting the coffee, they then roast it in and package it and sell directly to consumers. Good riding.
Coffee beans need to be brewed / used within 2 months after it was roasted, because after that it becomes stale and loses its taste. Not very practical for exporting then.
@@benoosthuizen4961 with today’s logistics you can get coffee to far off distances in far less time. For example we can have coffee shipped from Colombia to the United States in a matter of days. The technology of bags has come a long way as well, eliminating issues of freshness. After roasting, coffee requires at least 15 days to de-gas as well. If we’re talking about coffee producers earning a living and thriving from THEIR coffee, it’s actually the most practical, much to the chagrin of roasters. They won’t admit it, but they know it’s true.
Yeh !
Thank you for your support during this experience!! Biela Bike Tour the best MTB tour operator south of Colombia!❤
Coffee isn't the only thing Medellin good at growing
You are absolutely right. Flowers are also a big export
Super
Thanks for the great video! It looks like a lot went into the production of this.
Scotty, I'm heading to live in Colombia for a month, if you could pick one spot in Colombia as a home-base for mountain biking for a month, what would you choose?
🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
its COLOMBIA not Columbia
Colonia? 😂
That’s the most stupid claim that some Colombians do…. We called Alemania to Germany to give you an example …. And no German has ever said : “it isn’t Germany or Alemania … it is Deutschland!“ give me a break!!!
🚵🤙
These are real mtb trails, shared publicly for the enduro and downhill community so everyone can enjoy and contribute to their built, maintenance and evolution to take them to what they are nowadays, that is why we have world class mtb trails. US people need to learn about this, they only like to hide good trails and make trails multi use and only with boring flow, and the worst of all, is that they think they are bad asses by doing this 😴
Hey amigos from Shimano. I have to thank you so much for taking the time to showcase my beloved country COLOMBIA. It is an incredible place and needs this positive exposure to help us grow internally and to erase the wrongly assumptions. We are loving and caring people and we have a wonderful country that deserves to be seen. On a side note. The first title in the video is wrongly spelling the name. It is not Columbia.. It is Colombia. I will suggest you to address it to avoid confusions.
Cheers.
Come on man! Columbia is Colombia in English
Colombia* , Columbia is somewhere in the US.
Its no ColUmbia!!!. Ist ColOmbia. Thanks for visiting us. Always Wellcome.
This is a really good video but it would be much much better if you fix the intro... Is COLOMBIA not COLUMBIA.. it's not that hard.
Why didn't y'all use a Colombian rider as the host though...
man u guys can just leave ur bikes out front of that store no locked???!
Colombia is such a bike paradise...might have to move to there from Mexico...here they dont take care of parks and forest...
Colombia not Columbia guys come on!
You lost me at “Columbia”
It is Colombia, not Columbia.
Colombia not Columbia
It Was good until you wrote columbia😢
What is it with Americans (and other foreighners) and always mixing Columbia with Colombia
He’s got the strangest “American” accent I’ve ever heard… I believe he’s Scottish.
@@simonbartolomeo8548 English is not my first language and I don't really recognize accents. If you come to Colombia and speak english, you'll just be another gringo 😁
Y es justamente por eso no avanza el país. Feliz día.
Coffee isn’t it? Really nothing else pops up in your mind? Im struggling to believe….🤣🤣🤣🤣
COLOMBIA, not Columbia! pls
SHIMANO , great video but you f’d it all up by not knowing how to spell the country of COLOMBIA. Wtf guys, do better. 😊
@casaenlalinea excelente trabajo!! 🔥🔥🔥
