- Arguably the greatest scene in Gossip Girl. At the very least it's among the most epic, sweeping and emotional. It's from Gossip Girl 4x02 "Double Identity" and the music is Sia's "I'm in Here"
I could talk about this scene from the Gare du nord all day but here are a few things I want to mention:
Can we appreciate Leighton Meester's big brown eyes and raw vulnerability? How about the way she slips on her Queen B mask when she says "But it takes more than even you to destroy Blair Waldorf" Or the crushed expression on her face when she looks down at the ring box she's about to give back to him. What about the way she steels herself when she gets ready to say "I don't love you anymore."
I think Ed Westwick is amazing in it too. I love his intense "I destroyed the only thing I ever loved." He knows he f'd up royally and hates himself. He hates himself to the point where he wants to eradicated all traces of Chuck Bass and become another person. His manner is self-contained and relatively calm until she says the words "I don't love you anymore" and then you see him wince. It's like a slap and it hurts It hurts so badly.. His eyes suddenly fill with tears and he tries gamely to blink them back. There is much hurt between these two. But even with all the hurt they're still connected and still care for one another.
He tells her her world would be easier if he never came back. It's true. But her response says it all "It wouldn't be my world without you in it" Honestly how could anyone doubt these two were endgame?

Great acting with their face yes, but actual acting with their voices wasn't amazing to be fair. This scene hits harder for people watching the show but me revisiting this scene from out of nowhere having not watched the show for awhile the actual acting isn't amazing, their facial expressions though, top-notch. Obviously Chuck got the better acting in this scene if we strictly talk how he talks compared to Blair. But Blair her facial expressions have always been amazing on this show.

You can see the pain and the love in their eyes. I love this scene..it's a masterpiece, blair's dress, the train station, the colors, chuck dressed poorly, i mean EVERYTHING... it's just very emotional..I think blair's dress represents the love she had for chuck and her aspiration to be a powerfull woman

And by the way, I really like the look of Chuck here .. The face does not seem to be Chuck, I don’t know how to describe it. And in general, there is an impression that this type of clothing suits him more (although everything suits him)..

I think that’s ultimately why she left NY. Blair was teasing her about how she would never work with Chuck, and Chuck didn’t really put a stop to it. Eva knew Blair was still in love with him, and that it was only a matter of time. Chuck even confronts Blair on her feelings, asking if she still loves him, and when she denies it, he starts resenting her for it.

everyone always talks about chuck's face after Blair tells him she doesn't love him anymore, but I get full body chills when he says he wants to "maybe become a person someone could love" and Blair says "someone did love you". imagine the pain of loving someone for so long, giving them so many chances, never giving up on them until they do something so horrible you reach your breaking point, and then to hear them say that after you finally healed. the fact that he invalidated the love she gave him and the love they shared, all the work she put into him and their relationship.. I know that would just hurt so bad. their acting and emotional execution is so amazing in this scene it always makes me emotional

Honestly the acting in this scene is amazing. Every slight facial expression is so on point. They convey so much even when they aren’t speaking. I could watch this scene a hundred times. And probably have.

Shows how much Blair truly loves Chuck. Despite treating her poorly towards the end of S3, she still hired a PI to look for him all summer. She couldn’t really move on while in Paris, except for a few dates with Louie, which she fast-tracked to get over Chuck. And the fact that she stops him from running off and ruining his life. Even returning the ring he held onto, which got him shot in the first place.

I think she was kind enough to let him go. She knew once Blair had framed her, and Chuck took Blair’s side, that he was still in love with her. And Chuck’s first question to Blair after Eva left him were, “is it possible you’re still in love with me?” Eva did the right thing by stepping aside tbh.

I've watched this scene a million times. I love it so much. One of my favorites scenes in GG.
If you think about it.. How difficult it was for them emotionally, both Blair and Chuck.. He began to cry when she said about feelings (that she doesn’t love), and moments later she did. In fact, in life, it seems to me that this also works this way. No matter how hard it is, no matter how difficult the feelings they experience here, there is still something that holds them together... They can barely resist. And both understand each other so much, again, as I see it...
At one time I completely missed this series, but months earlier I watched it, and this moment struck me very much..
A strong moment, very worthwhile, very heartfelt and very sincere, perhaps that’s what’s catchy in this scene..

Literally the most PERFECT song choice for this. Whoever chose it deserves millions of $
A lot of people talking about Ed’s acting, but I love Leighton when she says “just because you’re dressed poorly doesn’t mean you’re not Chuck Bass.” And then her face drops when Chuck says, “why would I want to be him?” Really subtle, beautiful acting from Leighton. You can tell Blair’s still in love with him, but trying not to let her mask slip too much.

telling yourself and others that you stopped loving someone is easy. what i find really emotional and heart wrenching about this scene is the courage it took blair to look at chuck in the eyes, and tell him that she doesn’t love him anymore - even so with tears in her eyes and the voice cracks. even though deep down she knew she was hurt all summer and kept denying how much she cared for chuck (still), i think this was the defining moment for her to finally face chuck and get the closure she needed.
Really... Talk to him about what's burning inside. It's hard to imagine what you can feel at this moment, earlier she told Serena about the meeting on the road .. By the way, if not for Serena, she would not have gone to him

Spectacular scene! I have probably watched it a thousand times! The way they say so much with their eyes, the way they look at each other, the devastation in Chuck's eyes when she gives him the ring back and her holding back tears when he said he destroyed the only thing he ever loved....those two were absolute perfection in GG. Shame they didn't get cast in another show or a movie after the GG ended. Their chemistry is out of this world.
