    Great video. I am not Armenian, but I will tend to side with the underdog. Armenians have suffered more than most. By understanding a bit about their extremely long history in such a contested part of the world is a testemony to great strength.

    Excellent video and information, as an Armenian I am proud of my nation and people including my Georgian side, both people have had an indisputable presence on these lands for over 3000 years, sure as hell destroys the nonsensical claims by the Dictator of Azerbaijan, claiming Armenian lands, history and culture. The Azerbaijanis also claim the Caucasian Albanians as their ancestors, which is laughable. Most Caucasian Albanians assimilated with their Christian allies Armenians & Georgians, as did their Churches, All Armenian, Caucasian Albanian, Georgian Churches are strikingly similar .One begs to ask one Question from the Azeris that is never answered credibly. If indeed Azerbaijanis are descendants of Caucasian Albanians and converted to Islam about 800AD, then WHY did they continue building Christian Armenian Churches till the 1800's? AS they claim all of Armenia and all of our Churches as their historical rights.

      Armenia has such a glorious history but it was never blessed with a continuous & large enough population to be a stable and strong enough polity. now that the turks are chipping away its ancient territories again, time for Armenia to develop radically different strategy by developing strategic means to defend itself and inflict unacceptable loss of life to the enemy. Even small countries with limited means can achieve that with the help of science.

      @@ARMENIA_HAYASTAN small nations facing disproportionately larger enemies with genocidal intent do not get 2nd chances. So remember - the deterrence it needs to develop, must be capable of inflicting absolutely horrific blows to the enemy. No conventional capability will do because you will always get outmanned, outspent and exhausted even if they suffer large no. of losses, just as the last 2 wars have shown.
      To break the cycle it needs a radically different approach. And the current incompetent govt alone cannot be trusted with such a grave task. So the diaspora must get its act together and start the work.

      All those "ancient" empires are fake. Academic Fomenko proved that Scaliger chronology is fake. In reality there was only one ancient empire: Egyptian. So called Tatar-Mongolian empire is actually Tatar-Russian empire which first started as a separatist revolt against Egypt (First Rome). Tatars are Europeans.

    • @viaceslavmikhailovich9825
      @viaceslavmikhailovich9825 Před 8 měsíci

      Italian Roman Empire appeared as an independent state and an empire about five hundred years ago. Second Rome (Istanbul) enjoyed the independence no more than 50 years, after which it was reconquered by Russia/Tatar Horde. Then the massive migration of the upper classes from Bosporus to North Italy started.

    • @viaceslavmikhailovich9825
      @viaceslavmikhailovich9825 Před 8 měsíci

      So, until the beginning of 13th century (800 years ago) there was only one empire with the capital in Nile valley. Then we had a long war between Tatar separatists and Egyptian empire. In 14th century, as result of this war, appeared a well organized militaristic Tatar/Russian state which defeated Egypt.

    Very well rounded account. I’m Armenian and the battle of Aratsani (the third one) is often described in our books as a victory on the basis that Romans didn’t advance after that. I remember being disappointed after looking at more objective sources that described it as a sort of stalemate or defeat. I think Tigran was was a great “strateg” but might have succumbed to hubris or simply didn’t anticipate the quality and discipline of the Roman legion. The battles of West and East have very often been battles of quality and numbers and numbers don’t always win. I truly hope we as a nation start reevaluating our history more objectively in order to not repeat the same mistakes.

    Tigranes is not the correct name pronounciation or spelling, its King Tigran (Teegraan), the suffix "es" was given by Greek historians and has nothing to do with the Persian/Armenian name Tigran, which means "to shoot an arrow" in Avestani Persian. They did the same with Yeshua or Isa (Jes"us"). Greeks always liked to add "us" and "es" to people's names even if the names were not Greek.

    lol thats quite an Imaginary Empire, never existed. Armenians dont even call themselves Armenians but Hayk and they were Hindu worshipping slaves from Hindustan brought by Parthian Turks to guard their borders against the Romans. And Parthian-Romam border was stretched from Caucus to Levant. Now these Armenians are actually of 40% Turkic ancestry!
    The name ARMENIAN is given to these Hayk only recently because they have been resided in an area called as Arman which is a Turkic name.
