- Testing out the new Behringer Spring Reverb 636 with a variety of patches (mostly pads by The Sun God RA - check out his stuff here on YT) on my Behringer PRO-800. I start off with a quick sample of the patch fully dry, then try to find the sweet spot for each sound on the 636. I'm controlling the PRO-800 with a Behringer UB-Xa for polyphonic aftertouch. I added light amount of UAD EQ, tape sim, and limiting in post. Sorry for the shaky iPhone video! I need to get a tripod and proper camera.

Just the combination I was looking for! Awesome demo!
Thank you!
What are your thoughts on the reverb? Is it the same spring thats in limited 2600’s?
I like it, though I'd say it's a character reverb and not something you'd necessarily use on everything (unless that's just your signature sound). It's not as bright as some spring verbs and has a very strong midrange that you might want to tame with an EQ. It gets crunchy when you push it hard - can get you cool fuzz tones on guitar and electric piano sounds. I haven't opened it up yet to see what tank they are using, so I'm not sure if it's the same one that they used in the 2600.
@@ChristopherGwinn if you ever open it, please come back to reply and let me know. Im very curious. Im hoping its diff and a better tank, but just curious. Def seems appealing especially for the price but thank you for the honesty. Very curious about this one
I opened up the case and took a peak but the tank is seated inside a black case that I feel confident taking apart to try find the model numbers. It's a tiny tank. Maybe 6" x 3"?
@@ChristopherGwinn Thats probably goid news! I doubt there’s a 6 inch tank in the 2600. I ask because i dislike the spring tank on the 2600. Its very very noisy. Like un-usable to me (at least without eq) wow though. Im excited for this actually. And again, for the price i think its super dope. I have the dual phase and think its so so. I will admit though im in the process of acquiring a proper 12v to see it with its highest headroom. I hold out my final judgement on that device until then. :)
@@djJustJay I have the Behr dual phase as well - haven't really spent much time with it, though. I didn't measure the tank when I had the 636 open - just estimating that it's roughly 6" x 3". It's hard to know for sure, as it's inside a black box that I didn't want to unwire and open up.
