      I'm betting needs a new cap and rotor or crankshaft sensor etc. Something spark related. But yes please let me know curious. Glade I could help out too bad we couldn't get it running.

      @@TheBoatingDiaries ww finally fixed it! The ignition module had shorted out (probably because of the standing water in it due to the hurricane) firing up like a charm now 😄

      @TheBoatingDiaries  Před rokem

      I hope it plays out well lol ! The boat has seemed so far with alot of TLC to be operating fine. I do need to continue to flush the oil in the engines and get the insides of the motors clean . Lots of sludge

    • @Marty-F
      @Marty-F Před 8 měsíci

      Be very cautious flushing engines! All that sludge ends up on the oil pick up screen, and starves the engine of oil. I would clean it very slowly, by using either some automatic trans fluid or Marval Mistery Oil, added to every oil change. Replace the oil filters two or three times between oil services. Slowly clean the engine, and NO Engine Flush. @@TheBoatingDiaries

    She's REALLY pretty and no doubt a great sea boat, but her open bridge in heavy weather might be uncomfortable. What's her range and best cruising speed? Will she make 1000 knots at 12 knots? She looks like she can be Blue Water rated by the Coast Guard. Yeah, one of my cousins had an 13 meter class sailing yacht, rigged for a two-man crew and Blue Water rated-as a true land-lubber, I know just enough to know stupid movies and such. Vernon passed away a couple of years ago, but I was amazed at the electronics and back-up systems required by the USCG. His boat had a Volvo 60 HP (I think-maybe 160???) diesel and a big back-up gen-set-she'd make about 9-10 knots on the diesel.

    • @TheBoatingDiaries
      @TheBoatingDiaries  Před rokem

      I have the Robertson ap20 auto pilot and will be doing some testing at running the boat with the auto pilot from the cabin to prepare for heavy weather. I won't be able to run the throttles or transmissions but should be able to do the steering via the ap20 remote inside the cabin

    Diesel is much safer to have on a boat than gasoline. Gasoline fumes accumulate in places and that's not good. Safe travels to you.

      In 2001 part of the repower, the floor had a new coat of resin and engine room completely redone . Lot of work and money the previous owner put into it . I think it's a gem and I will maintain it and hopefully will last me a lifetime!

      I'm not sure how long it will take me to complete the Loop. I'm filming this series and right now I have been staying in a place for a month to 2 months. For me , it's not about motoring around the loop to just complete it. I am filming this series to show marinas and the water ways . This will be a series that will be on youtube for boaters as yourself to watch forever .
